You can't base it on dunks. Dunks were hard to come by with their defense.

The problem is not whether Blake talks back or cheap-shots someone. His play becomes less aggressive once the physical play begins. Blake loves to SLAM-DUNK, but if you notice he does not even dunk hard if ZBO is in the game.
The problem with the statement is that they can be said with no backing, and if you create a certain conclusion or perception, you'll remember the times when he wasn't aggressive after physical play and see his lack of aggressiveness as a result of the physical play and ignore the times when he was still as or more aggressive after....

Nobody questioned his game before he injured his knee in Game 5 of the 2012 playoffs, especially considering he was awesome in Game 4! More made up accusations.

It's just my opinion, but anybody who suggests Blake is faking injury over criticisms should maybe no longer be considered a Clippers fan? Just putting that out there for folks to mull over.

Blake just needs to be 25-10 and less complaining to the refs.

I wonder why he waited until after game 4 before faking his ankle sprain then? Hmmm

I didn't say he's faking it. More like putting himself in situation to be hurt.m2 playoff in a row that he struggled due to injury

So he's deliberately hurting himself and going through the pain of running around with a knee/ankle sprain in order to offset any performance criticsm.

First, he would need to see a shrink if that were the case.

Second, that would not explain the sprained knee right after he scored 30 points (and a +18 ) against Memphis in Game 4 of the 2012 playoffs, leading his team to a 3 games to 1 lead! Again, this is all made up b.s.

When was the last time Blake protected the rim or give a hard foul?

It's easy to play ur best when there's no pressure? Ask chris webber aka the biggest choke artist in 2000-2010 nba era. I wish I could have seen how he responds at gm 5'when the series was tied.

What I find funny is all the news reports now have the headlines: "BLAKE GRIFFIN SAYS HE'S NOT SOFT, INVITES NBA CRITICS TO FIGHT HIM" or "WILL FIGHT TO PROVE IT!"

Dangerously out of context. lol

No need to fight anyone just protect the rim, give hard fouls, and challenge shot. Why is he so scared of getting suspended in a regular season game. Even Kobe got into a few scuffles and elbow throwing to get the point across

Was Kobe getting a point across or just elbowing people while shooting jump shots? What exactly was Kobe proving? Fighting just means that you lost your cool and the other person IS getting to you, I'm not sure how that somehow shows mental maturity.

You aint lying! Well said my friend.

Here's an example I like to use when people use the term 'soft'.

Tim Duncan, the greatest PF of all time never had to throw elbows or start fights, same could be said for Dirk. Funny thing is that the media labeled them both 'soft' at one point in their careers which is not only disrespectful but completely wrong.

Blake just needs to come out killin the league next season and let his play do the talking. No need to get in a on court brawl(ron artest style).

I'm getting real irritated with the media and blowing stuff out of proportion. That's how you know there still Clipper haters out there.

And eff Zbo, he just mad cuz he getting old, Blake gone murder him next season.

Hard to say. Buth those jumpers Blake shot in Cousins face at Sacramento 2 seasons back were when the game was on the line down the stretch. The first shot took the lead, the other baskets extended it.

It's one example, but at least it is an example. Most of the time, it's CP3 with the ball down the stretch for better or worse.

And also Chris Bosh had been labeled "soft" and all three of those guys are champions

People tend to forget, Blake was clutch his rookie season when he would get the ball down the stretch. I remember when he used to go on scoring sprees(jumper, dunk, spin move, step back and bank shot).

Blake changed his game once cp3 came and started deferring. But I still believe Blake is capable of being clutch, if given the opportunity.

Agreed. One of Vinny's biggest problems was he relied too much on CP3. He flat out admitted that was his play call down the stretch. There are examples where Blake was dominating and Vinny told Paul to stop giving Blake the ball and take over down the stretch himself. In turn, Blake started to get more tentative when he finally did get the ball.

Hopefully, all that changes with new coaching!

Wow, are people actually watching Clippers games?

Very inaccurate.

"Conveniently get hurt"? "Built in excuse"?

So players will deliberately get injured... in the playoffs????

This thread is soft.

Duncan was never labeled soft cuz he protected the rim like a real bug man and challenged shots.

Drk I agree, he was labeled soft. I think that has a lot to do with don Nelson playing him at center for the most part where he had no business in

Chris bosh is still soft. Unfortunately for Blake he doesn't have lbj or wade to bail him out. Bg can't afford to settle for a number 3 guy in the team. He needs to be the best player or second best player on the team

Looks like Stephen A Smith asks CP3 about people calling Blake "soft" and Paul basically starts talking about how Blake is actually a "hard nosed competitor" and that "he's gonna go out there and work as hard as he possibly can" and that Blake gets beat up a lot of times because nobody wants to be posterized. Looks like there was more but edited out.

Blake has serious ups. Dirk, Duncan, and Z-Bo have NEVER been pulled out of the air like Griffin.......cause the only way they can possibly get where he goes is with a trampoline. If any of those 3 just had someone push them off of a porch every day before they went to practice.........THEN..........they might have an idea of what BG goes through game-game-out. Blake's a monster for just brushing all that off. Those weenies wouldn't last, no way...

his shooting was an asset last year, but yes i agree. With Reddick and Dudley on the roster that is enough shooting.

One of the reasons why I feel BG must try to learn from Hakeem is because he is one of the few players that actually has the foundation to use Hakeem's teachings well. Unlike Dwight, BG has much better footwork and his movements are not mechanical. The problem is he has a tendency to overdribble and be indecisive.

Sorry, I should have been more clear, I was being sarcastic. He most definitely needs to work on his shot a lot. Especially since Doc wants to use him more facing up, the jumper opens things up for him.

You can never have enough shooting, there's no harm and a lot of good (greater spacing, helps the players offense, etc) in a player being able to shoot even if you won't primarily use them as a shooter.

It's time for our Wilt Chamberlain reminder.

Wilt was thought soft at first. He was the "Blake Griffin" of his time. He got beat up so bad he almost quit. There's a shot of him with a nose guard. His nose was broken several times.

Did you notice that when he went to the rack everybody got out of his way? He "convinced them" '

Look at his vertical leap. Same as MJ. He also if you watch out sprinted all the guards. I once said that if anybody could shut down MJ he could.

He never hit anybody or started fights, he played hard. Except one time where he got pissed at some guy, and picked him up and shook him like a rag doll. Shaq playing racquetball?

Now I get it. He's not actually telling everybody to challenge him if they want. He meant the players that piss him off lol. Stupid director's cut...smh

Looks like no one posted this one yet.

Fck Skip Bayless!! What a hater... I'll take you on myself. Damn he pisses me off. What a joke, Skip Playless needs to play some real basketball for me to take his opinions seriously. Same with Bill Simmons.
