Good read. I just love this part about Blake,

"No, I watched him through my window yesterday with a couple of our coaches, and I mean he puts in hard minutes and hard time in the summer, and that was really nice to watch."

I liked that part also, I feel Blake and Doc will have a strong relationship just like Doc and KG had in Boston.

He's just hyping him up so he can trade him for that center that most people are looking for.Wink

You know what is interesting to me is how Popavich came out in ESPN magazine and said the Euro kids are easier to coach then American kids because Euro kids want to win, American kids want to be seen and want adulation. The entitled youth is what he called them. Euro kids have no entitlement so they work harder.

I bring that up because of this quote from the Doc article:

This is a younger team. This is a younger group. And so I think it will be really interesting to find out, 'Do you want to stand out, or do you want to win?' For young guys, that's hard to understand that if you win, you do stand out. Or, you can stand out alone and you'll get a lot of accolades, but you won't win and that's an individual thing.

Something I guess needs to be learned.

My first thought. Remember how much he hyped Bledsoe apparently? Lol.

I was being sarcastic actually...he liked Bledsoe and said some good things about him, but loves DJ and talks about him a hell of a lot more in regards to a big 3 and being a defensive anchor (along with Blake) then he every did with Eric.

He won't get traded unless Doc truly sees something to change his mind in the preseason.

Well now I am really excited about seeing DJ improve to HF status.

That's not true even a little bit. Doc was begging for the Clippers to not throw Bledsoe in the trade, he seemed fine with DJ going to the C's until the deal fell through and my guess is now he's trying to emotionally pick DJ back up by making him feel like a main asset.

It's as simple as that.

That would sure be a quantum leap from last year wouldn't it?

Ok if that's fits your mind set, great, but Bledsoe was traded very quickly so Doc didn't hesitate one bit. If he didn't "love" DJ tools he would have been gone just as quickly IMO. He needed to address the starting line up's weaknesses and he did.

No one knows for sure though, except that at this point in time DJ's not going anywhere....and it's as you say...as simple as that.

I'm not saying DJ is going to get traded. I'm saying technically he was already traded once and that can hurt a players ego and relationship with his new coach when the deal falls through.

Doc is so obviously picking up the pieces to the best he can...or unless you really think Doc holds DJ to HOF standards, then I have no idea what to say. I'm speechless.

BINGO!

Lets not forget that DJ was also on record practically begging by saying how much he wants to play for Doc and how he could make him DPOY if he stayed.

maybe the FO told him how fragile and sensitive DJ is and that is the reason why Doc is hyping him up. Kids these days...

So DJ wants to play under Doc despite the KG trade, yet he's sensitive/fragile?

He just can't win with you guys.

Who knows why Doc said that, but I'm pretty sure he thinks before he speaks. I do know that Doc wants him here no matter what you or I can guess or else....

still don't get how DJ attracts so many flies in here.... dude is a baller.... decent NBA centers are few and far between.... speaking for myself, still holding out hope that DJ has some Bill Russell to his game.... he definitely improved offensively over last off season, didn't fall off defensively, and again, I for one, will be looking forward to seeing what he does with more minutes and a new coach.... reading the Doc article also made me think back to KJ/Kevin Johnson and Alvan Adams as a better comparison to CP3 and Blake than any....

Doesn't even feel like the clippers anymore. We actually sound like a contender even the way we do interviews... It's awesome! Sorry ekker, it is though!

^Not sure LAbreakers why your so down on Redick and Dudley. Both are at least average to above average at their respective positions with PO experience and high BBIQ. Like Bullock over Hardaway and Mitchell...we did well in the draft IMO. Oh well, we'll see how it all turns out soon enough.
