People lets actually be reasonable here! Okay if the Clippers were to bring in MWP how would they actually use him! I mean i don't see a need for him but if he was brought in how and would he contribute? He is a SF at 6'8! I honestly think Doc knows what he is doing but i do not like small lineups! I think our FO goes with a solid big!

Resign metta and resign odom. Bullock and Greene can alternate on the dnp list

He would be an undersized PF who can't shoot consistently and has no post moves. He can still defend and even though he is undersized he has the strength to defend some 4's but not many.Guys like Randolph,Aldridge,Gasoft,Ibaka, etc would dominate him with their size.At this point in his career he is best suited to be a SF rotation player off the bench. We have enough wings so I don't see any reason at all the Clippers would want him.

Metta World Peace is a head case... But defensively this guy can still get it done and will probably be even more productive off the bench.

The Clippers have two spots to fill (Three but that 15th spot is left open for a late season acquisition) and for veterans minimum Metta would be a solid addition.

Low risk high reward...

How is our team one of his top choices? I'd honestly bring him in if we can land Jamison too. We need another big man plain and simple. Would be sweet to get Jamo, Metta and Odom.

Don't like what he's about. He's a head case. Hate how he blows kisses to the crowd after he makes a layup. Don't like his character. We are fine with out him.

He's better at PF than most, if not all, of the PF's available for the minimum. For that reason I vote for Metta.

And Laker tears are still very tasty.

I would really love to get Metta World Peace on the Clippers, he's a great defensive player but I can't really think of a spot for him on the team. He can play the 3 and we already have Barnes Bullock and Dudley to fill that position, no way he can play the 4 spot. So I think the best thing to do is go after a solid big and possibly MWP as well if Doc Rivers could figure out a way to make him fit on the team.

I honestly like him over Jamison due to age and fit. He lost weight last year and had an efficient shooting season not to mention he regularly guards PF's, gives us another enforcer and can still play great D. It's one less guy we have to worry about cheapshotting Blake and despite his antics.. much like Barnes when he's on your team he goes to war for you. Imagine having Peace, Hollins and Barnes as your enforcers?

He would be a great backup PF for Blake, and he's still one of the better defenders in the league. So long as Doc doesn't have him chucking three point attempts like D'Antoni did, I'm absolutely all for getting Artest on the team.

Damn, how many SFs do we need though? Metta would be coming off the bench?

We have a lot of Guards and Small Forwards, we need some BIGs now with the last 2 spots.

33 years old is up there in NBA age, but it's hardly a "dinosaur".

Also, Artest would preferably play power forward, not small forward.

Doc should be able to figure out how to get Bullock time, regardless of if the Clippers get Artest or not.

Id love to see MWP in a clippers jersey, just for the sake ok lulz.

He will play here (cause he lives here) in NY (knicks fan) or call it a day.

Like him as a backup pf, and mullens, if available, could be the shooting 5 while metta is the defense minded PF.

Although, probably we could flip a guy like green or bullock for a young big.

yes, but he made it clear that will not play for anywone who bids for him. And because clips and NY cannot do this, Metta will probably wont be claimed off waivers by anyone. Then we or the knicks can pick him up for vets min.

Metta would have been a great alternative to Barnes if we didn't end up signing him. Right now I just do not see the Clippers making this move. We need some back up bigs that can defend and rebound plus bring toughness to this team. Metta can play PF but he is undersized and will get demolished in the Playoffs defending the Ibakas, Zebos, and Duncans.

I really want him. Lets get somebody who plays defense. We need to rebuild the goon squad! I'm not liking that 3 out of 5 starters already has reputation of being soft. Dj "lets push him around" Blake "he ain't gonna fight back." is anybody really afraid that redick is guarding them?

Goon squad> softy sprinkles

Nice family-style locker room with CP4 and the Barnes twins running around.

I wouldn't mind having him if we could get him on the cheap, just to use in certain matchups. He's still a decent defender, so it wouldn't hurt to have him as our 11th man and use him when needed. In regards to his locker room presence--dude has gotten a(mostly earned) bad rap for years, but he has actually changed his ways. Since leaving the Lakers, everyone(teammates, coaches, media) has had only great things to say about him. So in that sense I would have no problem with him. But yes, we need a big man, so we shouldn't pick him up for that reason. But if we get a big man and have another roster spot open at the end of the summer, why not Metta?

Crawford on his way out for a big man. MWP moves to SF and Dudley splits time between SF and SG. Clippers are very weak defensively inside the key. MWP has lost a step but still a good defender.

If Blake gets in early foul trouble all bets are off. Can't happen with our largely minimum wage frontcourt. MWP is known for his defense, but it would take help to guard Timmy or Pau for sure. That's where Doc's system comes in...

Didn't artest do a great job defending Blake last season? I think he's be a great backup big to Blake. Plus, we don't really have a lock down wing defender. Think Artest would step in as our best defender immediately.

Individual defense will probably matter less in Docs system. A Lot more help defense and closing lanes like how the Spurs approached the heat to slow down LJ.

Collison, Crawford, Barnes, MWP, Odom. That's a pretty nice mixture of offense and defense for a bench unit.

If mwp plays backup pf, offensively that's great with positions 1-4 able to hit jumpers and 3's; 1-5 if we could resign odom/jamison.. but defensively crawford is a liability and artest is way undersized.. Good thing is, they are also playing against 2nd stringers barring that the starters doesn't have foul troubles or injury.

for vets minimum jamison+artest = no odom+artest = yes

Yeah, Blake did tear him up. Blake tears up a lot of guys trying to guard him one on one. Same with Jamal, he sends a lot of players in circles. He has the best crossover in the NBA in my opinion. Blake is a real PF and Jamal is a Guard, the only thing I will say is that if you are giving me a choice of Artest or Jamison. I will take Artest all day, he can guard most not all pfs. He is undersized, but an inch taller than Blair or Maxiell. He can shoot, not the highest field goal percentage but better than decent when matched up against PFs from distance. He doesn't mind taking a fade if people start getting out of line with Blake. He is a bit of a loose cannon, but his toughness is something we are lacking. He would be matched up against bench players most of the time anyways. With all that said, I would prefer a Ivan Johnson over him.

Guys claiming he can't defend anymore obviously didn't watch him much last year. He absolutely was a solid defender last year. Claiming he's washed up? Dude played more minutes last year than anyone on our team except Griffin (and Griffin was barely more minutes). He played the third most number of minutes, and games, last year of his entire career. He's clearly not burnt out.

He's 6'7", which is just 1" shy of the norm for PF. That's a good height for a backup PF.

Blake was tearing World Peace up because he made his first 5 or so jumpers. When Blake makes all of his jumpers he can tear up almost anybody in the league.
