"When Bullock was 4, his father drove him down from Baltimore to Kinston and dropped him at the doorstep of his maternal grandmother, Patricia Williams. Two years later, the father was dead, and Bullock's mother lived in Kinston but was not much of a presence in her son's life.

It was just Bullock and Miss Williams, as everyone in town called her. She was a minister, and Bullock was raised to toe the line. Miss Williams was the backbone of their makeshift little family, and she was going to keep her grandson on the right path, no matter the circumstances around them."

Awesome read.

Gotta root for the kid after reading a story like that.

Even if he doesn't make the roster, he's certainly good enough to make a nice living in Europe or Asia. Hats off to him.

He's on the roster lol. 1st round picks get guaranteed 2 year contracts, with a 2 year team option afterwards.

Great Read. Another solid character guy, I read somewhere else on ESPN's daily dime that the kid's self awareness and basketball awareness is very high. he doesn't force anything and knows his limitations. I think he is a real sleeper and will be a valuable piece moving forward.

I'm just hoping this is the starting point of a solid upward trajectory and not a misleading flash in the pan kind of thing. But the fact that he has solid role-player credentials and abilities and attitude makes me think he shouldn't suddenly decay into a waste of space.

He seems like the ultimate role player. He's definitely a steal in the draft. It would be awesome if he developed into a solid 3rd option. His shooting will complement Blake and Paul really well.

I'm hoping he's patient and slowly grows into his role kinda how Kawhi Leonard did and by year 2-3 is a regular rotation player. At that point maybe he replaces Dudley/Barnes as starter.

If he even becomes 75% of the player Kawhi is that would be superb. Kawhi is like 21 or 22 and managed to hold his own against Lebron.

For sure, although I don't expect him to be THAT good. Just saying mentally be the same type where he's patient, team first and will do anything coach says including bringing him along slowly. I predict 0 issues personally.

Great read!!! Reggie! Reggie! Reggie! Hope he can develop and be close to Leonard. He can definitely become a better shooter than him but I doubt as good defensively.

All access into Vegas Summer League. We got ourselves a worker and a class act. Lue raved about him other day. Said he's been outstanding as a teammate, worker and player.

I work at the hospital in Kinston and his HS assistant coach and I talk all the time. He is a great kid, he was raised well. In high school his problem was not being selfish enough. He was the team player, didn't want to take all the shots even though he could score 40ppg. Instead his team was always very talented and he would average 20-10 and 5 on most nights.

Kinston has produced some players, there are about 3-4 D1 kids on the team every year.

That's great to hear- hopefully he gets some minutes every game. Maybe Barnes can play some PF so Reggie Bullock can play with the second unit a bit.

Collison

Crawford/Redick/Green

Bullock

Barnes

Hollins

Not too shabby at all.... Though some players has to be the odd men out- might have to be Willie and Bullock once we get that backup PF.

I gotta get a Bullock jersey. He's already my new favorite.

I think Bullock is going to be a sleeper like Afflalo/Jimmy Butler. Drafted late and becomes an above average player.

Glad to see something like this, but this isn't uncommon, at least for basketball and a lot of college football players. It's sad when you hear about certain athletes misfortunes in their early childhood of not having both, or any parents to raise you. But I think it really makes any person appreciate life a lot more if another family member took over as the role of parent for you.

And I wish I knew my grandparents better than I do, I bet it really made that woman proud she raised someone like Reggie whose now found himself a home and a good life.
