Is this accurate? B Diddy to return to the Clippers? If it goes down he will replace Maalik Wayns.

Jared Zwerling (tweeted): For those asking about Baron Davis, he's been playing pickup games at Clips' practice facility "looking good" (via source). NBA plans TBD.

I know this sounds boring for most of us here but its intriguing.

I don't think I can forgive him for the disappointing taste he left here at Clipperland

It makes no sense for him or us.. He will be a third string pg for us and no playing time.. Maybe him in Indiana makes sense?

If Baron Davis grew 1 foot and developed great post defense then sure. We need a big man, not a fat little man.

hes not coming here. Half the NBA comes and plays pick up games at the clips practice facility because its the best in the league. Melo was reportedly there a few weeks ago, are we getting him too?? OMG SuperClips!!! This is a non-story

Although It would be funny, jersey wise. 1- davis 2- collison 3- paul (and if tragedy strikes, 4- redick)

He gets way to much hate around here, i think he could of done good things if he had the right people around him like what he managed to do at Gstate.

He averaged 15.3 points 8 assists 1.7 steals and 3.5 rebounds per game for us in 75 games during 09/10 i wouldn't exactly call him a bum.

That said i don't know if I'd still want him here with the team we have now, if he got in shape he should go back and try back up Curry. That would be a fun team.

After all said and done, I kind of like BD. It would be not bad to have him come off the bench. He is a good passer and can make plays for Doc out there.

DTS needs to be selfish and not let just anybody practice in the facility

You're taking about Clipperland, we have had sooooo many disappointing players. Plus, I don't blame him for playing bad his first two seasons. He signed here to play with guys like Brand, Maggette, Kaman, etc. Brand and Maggette left, and Kaman couldn't catch a pass. He left a great thing in Golden State to play here, but there was nothing here to use. He started to play like the player we always wanted once he started to play with Blake, then was traded. Blake and DJ loved him, and I still say no one had better chemistry with Blake than Baron on the court.

Guys we are talking about a facilitator here, and a third string pointguard if he signs here for the least amount of money. he won't start and rarely play. can't hurt you and if he agrees to come for cheap, why not?

Better than wayns?? up in the air but does have experience.

Still need a big that can play one on one Manimal D

Minimum for a 10 year+ veteran versus a 2nd year is over half a mill. To play a total of 50 minutes and do very little on the squad? Not worth it. Rather have Wayns.

I would have joined the Mickey Mouse Club as a kid if I could have played with Annette Funacello's tatas

  1. We were looking ad Udrich and Calderon. Brand convinced BD to come

2 Brand split

3 Magettee split

4 BD signed even though he knew they were gone

5 Like LO he came in out of shape and always was "injured"

  1. He was a cancer and pretty much destroyed one season singlehandedly

7 He was the driving force behind getting MDSr fired

8 He complains that he got a raw deal here. He's a cancer. He screwed us just for fun

I am really amused by some of you and the total lack of reasonable thought! Davis can practice wherever he wants...damn, I have a bunch of friends who used to practice at the Clips facilities and they are most certainly not signing with the Clippers. Soon you will sign people just because they pass by Staples. Please, get serious!

great point. Hopefully the practice facility brings us more guys like Barnes.

Not only does players being allowed to practice at the Clips facility put out a good word on the Clips (raising the thought of a once dysfunctional franchise, which we all should be aware of), and also make the Clips as a feasible landing spot for future stars. It also allows our players to have practice games against the best players in the world. I'm not saying BD is one of the best, he was up there in his day though right before he got to us, but allowing guys to practice with Carmelo and similar players that may have homes out here in Cali is good for those.

This works out in our benefit as long as you don't here that some superstar player from another team was allowed to practice there and a player like Hollins was sent to practice somewhere else. This only ruffles feathers, because it's BD and we could probably use a 3rd PG on the team. That said, I don't think we should sign him it could be a distraction from what the team is trying to accomplish.

@namzug. good points. its a great way to sell the clippers to prospective free agents and also a good opportunity to scout players. too bad some of these guys like Shavlik Randolph or Ivan Johnson aren't practicing at our facility right now that would give us a good opportunity to evaluate these guys game

I really think that is what Amundson is doing there, trying to sell his stock to the Clips. I'm surprised that Shavlik or Ivan aren't doing the same, sometimes I think it is a location preference thing that is going on with Ivan. Some people prefer the East coast to Cali or in Ivan's case the dirty south, just like Odom prefers LA or a big city.

That is the other thing that I really like about Jamal and Chris that they are constantly doing basketball things with other players. If they have good things to say, then they could really spread the good word. Jamal with his Pro am has played with Tyreke, KD, Hawes, Derozan; and Chris with his Jordan tour with Carmelo and his AAU program as well as the pick up games he was playing last year.

The only thing that conflicts with this is that I wish that players had a little bit of hate for opposing teams like the old days did. Like the Bulls and the Pistons, or the Pacers and the Knicks, Flakers and Kings; the closest teams I kind of see it with is with the Warriors, Memphis and Clips; Pacers, Bulls and Miami; Knicks and Boston (Brooklyn now) but it's not the same.

This. That said, the way Matt Barnes got signed last year was by working out at our practice facility. But there were plenty of other guys who worked out there who didn't get signed.

In fact, I think like half the Nuggets team was there for a while.

I see no chance of a Baron return, especially to play 3rd string PG.

I was intrigued enough to click... don't know what that means... but he did have GREAT chemistry with our bigs, it's just he was not in great shape. I could welcome him back easily (as he is highly entertaining,) as a second/third stringer. He won't get many minutes, but only IF (and that's a big IF) he is in basketball playing shape. I can see why people don't want him here, but to those people I just want to say: he will not retain a starting role (the same role he disappointed most in.) So people have to understand the difference.

But hey, oh well. As many have mentioned, there are far more important positions left to be filled.

Get rid of Maalik Waynes and pick up Baron Davis? No thank you, Davis was a great player and can definitely contribute to the team in a coaching position but he should not be in a jersey on the court or bench. He's past his time and even as a third string point guard he won't be able to handle it.

A good coach to have on staff would be Sam Casell. I met him in summer league. He's such as nice guy and still makes time for the Clippers fans

I don't think we have to concern ourselves with it at all. Even if for some reason he does come back to play with the Clips he is behind 2 very good PG's. He would only see playing time if we had injuries.

You know the one picture I have in my brain is Baron's last alley-oop to Blake. I t was the one a the all star game from the moon roof of a Kia.

Probably if he would have come to play and not loaf around until he was happy, he wouldn't be getting grief.

We had heard when he came here that an unhappy BD wouldn't play, and he pretty much didn't until Blake got healthy and then all of a sudden Baron played like he should have for the entire time before that.

Then he blames the team for him getting a bad deal, not himself, for loafing around. It is a one way door for people like that.

But I think he is probably there just to shoot around, who wouldn't, nice facility in a nice neighborhood.

I don't think anyone can complain about Davis' performance towards the end of his stay here, he actually performed rather well. But, it was a little too late. As mentioned above a lot of NBA players like to practice at our facility. And the thought of Baron on the team as a 3rd PG isn't an awful idea, we still need to bring in a big man or two. And Wayns, if he's still on the roster, then he deserves to stay. He really worked hard to get where he was and he's young and could perform better than expected.

I guess you guys never heard of players being brought onto a potential championship team as an insurance policy. It is the reason Tracy McGrady was sitting on the end of the Spurs bench last season. What happens if we go into the playoffs with CP3 and Collison injured. Who is going to start? I still think the team is probably more focused on another Big. But if they could sign a PG who could start in the playoffs if need be, they would do it for the minimum.
