Maybe the best read all summer. Amazing job as always by Alex Kennedy. Nice player quotes. Crawford seems to have jumped on the "it's on Blake" bandwagon too.

"I definitely think we're one of the deepest teams. I think people saw some of the Clippers' flaws last year. I think Memphis kind of exploited them a little bit. Their bigs would sometimes clog the lane and they needed shooting"-Jared Dudley on the Clippers vs. Grizzlies playoff series. I'm shocked that Dudley hit the nail on the head. He lives up to the reputation of having high B-Ball IQ. What is most surprising is how well our front office addressed this glaring need. I have never in my life seen a basketball team have such glaring weaknesses, and have that followed up by acquiring the exact people that can improve that(Redick and Dudley). Kudos to the front office

Crawford - "When he (Blake) was playing in my pro-am, he was much more comfortable stepping out to the elbow area and knocking down shots."

I like the sound of that.

Blake displayed an amazing amount of growth with that shot. If he improves his defense, wow what a player he will be

It does kinda make me nervous that everyone, and I mean EVERYONE says the team's success is on Blake's shoulders at the same time we're asking Blake to move out of his familiar position in the low post. But Blake seems game about it. We KNOW he's a hard worker.

Well, I know Paul can technically be the primary weapon, but we would be best served with Blake as the primary weapon. I'm sure Chris is more than happy to relinquish those scoring duties to the rest of the guys.

Yeah there's no doubt the team is better off if Blake can explode to that next level. It's just we're asking him to do that at the elbow instead of the paint. lol

I'm excited for what the Clippers can be: Chris Paul can return to or atleast be close to 15-18 PTS 10-12 Assist 2-3 Steals Blake can get back to around 20-25 PTS 10-12 REBS 2-4 Assist 1-2 Steals

Those two alone and Doc makes a great pairing and I am really excited

True. I'm sure he will find a way to be primary guy. His shooting has improved, and as long as he alternates from to his physical drives inside defenses won't know how to guard him

This is definitely a year to be excited. More than anything, I'm excited about our newcomers. We already are in a somewhat consensus that Paul will score 15-18, blake will do 19-22 but the x-factor will be guys like Redick, Dudley, Mullens, Collison, and the rest. I can't wait

Yeah it's DEFINITELY time to stop talking about how Blake is going to handle guys like Z Bo and start talking about how those guys won't be able to handle Blake!

Z-Bo is the primary target. I used to like the guy because he was the lone bright spot on that years clippers team when he got traded from NY, but what a **** he has become. I even spoke to people inside the organization and they said they didn't like him. I want Blake to have career games on him...hate him

Honestly, Blake and the team have been more successful than most against Memphis, but the disappointment from the playoffs linger. I can't help but wonder if the outcome wouldn't have been different if Blake's ankle never got sprained and Willie Green had actually started!

Oh well, the irony is our first round loss has led this amazing off season, so maybe it was for the best. Time will tell.

Voyeur, you are correct losing against Memphis was horrible, but it did lead to this amazing offseason. I knowjust hate hearing **** from Lakers fans because they are correct in that we botched a golden opportunity last year and ended up in the same place as they did.

I.always said a big part of me hoped we choked in the playoffs so Vinny was fired and the team was forced to improve. Long term it's much better that way than Vinny getting an extension.

If Blake really becomes the primary threat then he going to need the ball more in the 4th qrt. Paul can still do his I AM CLUTCH routine but it would would be great to see Blake be the other option.

GREAT read!!! I love all the quotes but Dudley's one was amazing. He seems like a very intelligent player that will definitely add great value in games, practice, and in the locker room. I hope he's right that Mullens is underrated and can spread the floor like Frye!

If Chris Paul will be the clutch player at the end game under Doc Rivers there will be no difference to Vinny's play this will be the same thing.

Agreed. Look at what Jamal said in that interview: "We feel like our chances are as good as anybody else's and we like where we're going. For us, we're not going to be judged on the regular season results. We'll be judged by what we do in the playoffs. We've already shown that we're a good team, but now we have to take that next step and that means winning big in the playoffs. That's our goal and our next step, and that's what we'll ultimately be judged on." It goes to show how meaningless the regular season is, and how crucial the playoffs are.

Time for Blake to make the play at end of the game.

While that's nice, it is much more than that. A lot of good positive stuff in there, though of course we wouldn't expect any different. Just gotta wait and see how it is when the season starts
