One of my biggest concerns right now is screens. Adding a bunch of shooters won't do much if Griffin and DJ continue to set weak screens (especially Griffin). They have the size, agility and strength to be elite at this but seem to be lazy about it. Do you guys think Doc will fix this?

I dang on sure hope it does. Good screens open up so much more then a weak slip screen that the bigs did last year. I want blake and DJ to do some dirty KG screens

Yes I do. This will be fundamentally sound unit for sure. RyHo sets some crazy wide stance screens. Cracks me up the way he hikes up his trousers. Dudz & Barnes can set some nice screens too. Just need to make sure guys aren't leaning or sticking their rumps out. Refs love to call moving screens.

Wavy the most annoying part is Hollins gets called for it every single time. Yet KG and Duncan get away with a dozen moving screens every game. Hollins does earn some stupid foul calls but ones on,screens are usually soft calls. Btw welcome to the forum. This is definitely the biggest and most active Clippers forum. During peak it's not rare to have 60 plus posting at once.

I thought a lot of screens were well done by Blake especially early on last season. He may have lost interest after a while, but they were better than I remember from seasons before. I remember reading one article that suggested Blake and DJ will have to do a better job screening now that they have JJ running through them. But frankly, all the highlights I've seen from JJ shows all he doesn't need much to get him open in that regard.

Is it just me, or did Blake and DJ set much better screens when Mo or even Baron and Eric were here?

Anyways I think this should be a pretty rapid fix during training camp. I believe this is more of a coaching matter, I've seen them both set good screens before. If Doc gets on them and says set solid screens don't set weak screens or you'll sit down.

Yea they did seem to get lazy with CP3 and start focusing more on slip screens as Jahvon said. Slip screens work on cuts to the rim but as a general rule you should ALWAYS set hard screens. It's not hard at all and is probably the easiest thing in basketball. I could teach anybody in the world to set a great screen in 5-10 minutes tops. It's one of the most fundamental and easiest to master things in basketball.
