Awesome post. It's 5am and I ended up reading the whole thing. I really can't wait for the season to start! Seeing Doc on the sidelines. Our newly upgraded, more balanced team. Blake with a full summer of improvements! Man I can't wait.

I know. We seemed to have upgraded in almost every aspect except 2nd unit PG, where the loss of Bledsoe will be evident (at least defensively). Still, the addition of Collison to fill that void isn't a bad consolation prize.

My surprise is how well the front office addressed the need to get better shooting at the perimeter, and replace the loss of Bledsoe at 2nd unit PG.

Not to mention the coaching staff. Can you guys believe that Doc Rivers is the head coach and Alvin Gentry is the associate coach, WOW!

Let me tell you guys take in every game you can because the chances that we have an associate coach of this caliber again are very unlikely

Do you guys think that they will run this almost like a football team, where your offensive coordinator runs the offense and Doc runs the defense?

I was really against bringing in Alvin as the head coach, but to have them as an assistant to Doc is very exciting to say the least. I'm still surprised we didn't get Jermaine O'neal due to Alvin signing with us, I thought that was going down as soon as we signed Alvin.

I'd really love to see Gentry take over some of the offensive play calls sometimes just to add variety to arsenal. It's hard to say who's the better offensive coach out if the two, they are both very good.

All I know is with CP, Doc and Gentry on our side we may never go scoreless on out of bounds plays.

I also can't wait to see Doc's magic when we need to get a stop on a final play. We are definitely blessed in the coaching department.

Doc should take the time and thank Dunleavy for getting this train on the tracks. I hope he's not thinking he's the messiah and did everything.

Sounds like Doc has already deferred somewhat to Gentry on offense, especially with Blake at the elbow. Yeah we'll be in very safe hands should Doc end up getting ejected in the middle of a game for some reason.

Ekker- I think he came here due to the fact that this team was already on the right tracks, I'm pretty sure he isn't delusional about that. Even CP3 didn't fight coming here, because he saw potential in our team.

Voyeur- you make a great point about a coach being ejected. They really can go to back up players, because they know they will leave the team in good hands. If calls are being so lopsided they can go berserk on the sidelines. I'm sure they won't stand there and watch Blake get tackled and just change facial expressions.

Namzug - that's a good point about refs and Doc. I wonder if refs will start protecting Blake a bit more now that they know he has a couple of heavyweight coaches on the the sidelines?

I have no clue how this is going to be arranged either. I assume Doc has probably come to some agreement as to who runs the offense. Still, Alvin did run a pretty successful Phoenix team with Nash and Amare. I have a feeling he may use Griffin to the best of his capabilities. So if Doc gives Alvin the offense I would not be opposed. Especially since he has worked with Jared Dudley in the past. As for Jermain O' Neil I would have loved him on this team, but it was not meant to be.

You got your wish!

"It started with Dunleavy... Vinny took it to the next level. Without those guys this job would be impossible"

Dunleavy and Vinny did contribute

The two are different. Dunleavy did pretty good but the team had melt downs twice. First with the Magette off the bench and Livingston starting. We were a lock for the PO's and blew a sure thing. It was so bad that Doug Christie didn't finish a 10 day contract. We should have made it at least to the 2nd round. Brand was making "leaving" noises.

Then came Baron who single handedly and on purpose destroyed the team and was or at least was a big part in MDSr's departure.

Vinnie didn't have it.

Gentry is HOME! Where's Darius Miles? How's about some head bangin'
