During an interview with Sports Illustrated (SI), Celtics' President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge, said that he believes the Clippers will win 65 games this season.

Per Sports Illustrated:

"Listen, Doc did a great job for us and I'll always be grateful for what he's done," said Ainge. "But because we struggled in the first few years of Doc's tenure -- struggled mightily -- I think people sort of get it, and understand that it's not always the coach. Now Doc's going to a team that's going to win 65 games. They won [56] games last year with injuries; Chris Paul missed [12] games. They won 17 in a row, and [now] their team is better. It's upgraded significantly, in my opinion.

^^^ Wonder if that's Ainge trying to put extra pressure on Doc or if he really believes that. I'd settle for 60 wins.

65 wins with an improved league from last season? Highly doubtful. 60 should be our goal. I think we can get 1st seed in the West.

He's doing his version of Phil Jackson when he wants someone to fail by setting the the too high or even unrealistic

I'd settle for 45 wins if we made it to the conference finals

He isn't trying to "set Doc up,' in my opinion, he is trying to add a caveat in the case that Doc does find success here during the regular season. Ainge is pointing out that Doc didn't do much when the C's had a so-so team, but did well with a great team. This would take the responsibility of Clippers' success from the coaching and place it on the team and player upgrades we had this season.

Good find @uncool, I think Ainge probably would want both teams to do good. I don't think there are bad wishes by either of them. Different points for each team and both teams got what they wanted; not to say that either team wouldn't of wanted more.

When dealing with the Celtics or the Flakers I think it is difficult to not get the bad end of the stick, and I think that was a pretty even deal.

I don't see us getting to 65.

True, just that 45 unless significant injuries happened would mean we aren't so good.

65 is quite a bit, don't see that happening

We're not the only improving team in the west. I think 60 wins could be realistic maybe with place2 or 3 in the west.

60 is fine but Danny A should just concentrate on how many celtics can win.

Or on how much they can lose. They are definitely looking to tank. The 2014 draft is very nice.
