I think we might have heard Ralph say, "Settle down, Mike Smith." for the first time this season. Lol

Ralph was in mid-season form tonight. Love that story about the Clips leaving Utah in 1987 in a WW2 plane that was on fire.

No doubt Bledsoe is a powerful dynamo! Even a game changer at times. But I think Collison is more prepared as a traditional leader in the PG position. And I had to do a double take when I saw his final stats tonight.

Moment of the night:

Kanter tried to back DJ down and he DIDN'T MOVE!

Enes Kanter is one of the NBA's big boys. Way to go, DJ. Keep it up! Now, bring on DeMarcus... a real test.

Loving the way he's not biting on fakes, too. Half of those blocks would have been fouls last year.

I wonder why Jamal had only 13 and a half minutes tonight?

After the game got blown open and there was like 4 mins left in the 3rd, Doc pulled most of the rotation guys and put the bench in

I think it's because the starters blew the game wide open in the 2nd half. There was a moment where Crawford was at the scorer's table about to come in, but then Doc decided to roll w/ Wayans. Doc and Crawford could be seen joking on the sideline as Crawford turned and went back to the bench. Doc already knows what Crawford can do, and will use him when the time comes. The garbage time was better used on the new kids.

Doc is wisely reducing his role for obvious reasons. Weak link defensively, can't score reliably on the move, average playmaker. Willie Green is the better option in this system.

If DJ can nuetralize DeMarcus then there is nobody he can't stop because Cousins is easily the best offensive Center in the game.

We already know he can handle Cousin's strength and won't be backed down easily because Kanter is bigger and stronger, he will be forced to take long range shots.

This will be the ultimate test for "D"J

I wouldn't say Cousins is the best offensive center. Lopez is as skilled, while being far more efficient offensively. Didn't Cousins shoot like 42 percent or something pathetic? I do think DJ will have made a huge statement if he can stop Kanter+Cousins in back to back games considering both have destroyed him previously and are hyped as great center prospects. I too was shocked Kanter couldn't muscle him around considering Kanter is supposedly just about the strongest player in the NBA nowadays.

DJ continuing to stay focused. It'll be fun time against "Big Dollar" Cousins.

It will definitely send the NBA a notice. While I was frustrated with DJ in the past I now have to laugh about all those so called NBA analysts who said we were stupid for not trading DJ and a first round pick to get old man Garnet lol. Could you imagine how bad our reputation would be if DJ was playing this good on Boston and we gave them a first round pick?

Any analysts who said we were stupid are stupid themselves. Our trade for garnett was veto. That Is not the clippers fault.

Had to go to a family event last night and forgot to record. Based on box score obviously we dominated but the numbers by DJ and our back up bigs is extremely encouraging. I feel like since DJ is still a mystery and will be until December at least, and also all our back up bigs are one dimensional...I think we should seriously consider keeping Lou and Davies as 14th and 15th roster spots and let Wayns go.

Our back up PG is a starter on almost half the teams in the league, he can play 38mins if CP is out. Between Redick, Green jamal and even Duds, we have enough veteran ball handlers to pick up the slack in that case.

All our bigs can offer something and they could all also be terrible from night to night. Jamison and Mullens look to be our first two bigs off the bench but Jamison is liable to be hurt a lot and Mullens is unproven. Hollins is what he is and that's not much. I just think there's some value to having a hussle guy like Lou and another young stretch as an emergency big.

Last year one of our weaknesses was our bench bigs. The guys we have now seem be a slight improvement but with this group, I think it's strength in numbers. It would be best case for us IMO if we use all the remaining roster spots on big depth and keep both Davies and Lou as 6th and 7th bigs.

i was one of the worst critics about DJ last year, hence my name. I'm actually excited to see more of him this year. Hopefully these first 2 preseason games are a precursor of the season to come.

Of course it wasn't our fault. My post is mainly to say that of all the possible trade scenarios we had floating around with Boston we made the right one. Roeser and the front office deserve much credit for not giving away too much

You are right, Cousins is in no way the best offensive C. Lopez is arguably much better actually, not just a bit better. Lopez averaged like 23 pts/36 on great efficiency and was even good in the playoffs with both volume and efficiency.

Offensively, Jefferson is also better than Cousins so far, and Jefferson is no offensive superstar. Cousins has been low percentage and turnover prone, but improved last season. It's actually hard to argue him impacting offense better than Gasol despite higher PPG, and a healthy Dwight has certainly been a higher impact offensive player.

Of course Bynum too, but healthy Bynum isn't a reality.

Lopez:

23.0 pts/36, .567 TS%, 114 Ortg

Playoffs:

21.4 pts/36, .548 TS%, 113 Ortg

Cousins:

20.1 pts/36, .524 TS%, 102 Ortg

There are just large differences in production that can't be explained away by differing circumstances, this is one of them.

If DJ can not get pushed around by him and keep him on the perimeter, he's succeeded. Even if Cousins gets hot and hits those shots, it's good defense, he isn't Marc Gasol who hit 48.5% from 16-23 last season, so it won't happen consistently for him to kill you from out there.

Cousins is still a bit limited in what he can do in the post, still needs refinement, he's a lot about bullying people, but he has a lot of good skills that if honed and focused he could be more effective as a player.

Cousins has 0 basketball iq and takes loads of dumb shots that he isn't effective at making. Forget about best offensive C. He isn't good offensively at all. In fact, he is offensively inept due to his low basketball iq and even if he was smarter he doesn't have much skill to be frank. Brook Lopez is far better. Even a gimpy Dwight is vastly superior. There is quite a few Cs if you count PF/C players like Duncan that are better than Cousins offensively.

He is also isn't a good defender. Someone who is just above average/fairly good like Lopez is better at him in that regard too.

He has loads of potential but that is it.

And just got a sh*t load of $ for his supposed potential. Think SAC might just regret that.
