Was wondering why all the Clippers players were tweeting prayers last 24 hours.

Not to down play its severity, but I tore my meniscus like 2 years ago and never got surgery. i still play basketball and football all the time. It just sorta sucks sometimes more than others. The kid will be alright.

Depends on how badly he tore it. He'll probably need surgery and be out at least a year.

You realize this was the same injury that kept Blake out a mere 6 weeks two summers ago right? It's not always that serious.

I tore mine about 8 weeks ago, opted for no surgery as well. Ran on the anti-gravity treadmill last week...

Haha i only win! And its really not that serious of an injury. They're already calling it minor surgery and saying that he will only be out for 6 weeks. The kid will be fine.

Wayns now has a guaranteed contract in all probobilies with this injury. The chances of Amundson or Davies making the team just got a lot slimmer it seems. From Steve Perrin: http://www.clipsnation.com/2013/10/17/4848824/for-clipper-wayns-its-go od-news-and-good-news

I like Wayns and his hustle. I hope he recovers fully and is able to contribute to the team. It looks like it'll be between Lou or Brandon Davies for a slot on the team.

Good news. Now according to Steve Perrin (and Mark Stein article) Wayn's contract is not guaranteed (with a catch, lol). This would help with how close we are to the hard cap and finding more players to add to the roster. Plus I agree with Steve that unless some players on the Clippers are involved in a trade, Jackson released too.: http://www.clipsnation.com/2013/12/28/5250270/la-clippers-maalik-wayns -contract-is-not-yet-guaranteed-after-all

Here's the Mark Stein article: http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/986/deadline-day-nears-50 -players

I hope we don't keep him, it's nothing personal he seems like a good guy. I just think we can't lose Jackson

I would love to send Wayns down to the D-League if possible. I know the Clippers lose their rights to him if they send him down, but at least he'll be able to continue playing basketball.

That's awesome! Thanks for posting! I still think it's likely that Jackson gets dropped barring any future wing injuries, but in-terms of salary reductions we have some real flexibility going forward. Well at least comparably more flexibility. We'll see what moves we make as the date comes closer.

From the players on the list of waive possible players: Dewayne Dedmon is killing it in the D-League. Cole Aldrich is...also tall. Greg Smith played pretty well against us. Hasheem Thabeet has never really proven consistent. Ofcourse Davies and Ponytail might be out there again so we'll see.

Sending him down doesn't mean we stop paying him. If we send him anywhere we need to stop the checks.
