nope, not at all actually

I'd get worried 20 games into the season if the level of play is poor. Clippers also have a difficult schedule to start, so I'm not expecting a .700 win% out of the gate

JJ Redick is a very good defender I would say he is a better off the ball defender than Barnes or Dudley. Nice surprise.

Horrible way to end preseason - confidence is going to be low.

Those two things combined= first round exit again unless they change.

Is it just me or does the D decline every single game?

very fundamental defender, one on one isolation is where he will get beat up, so as long as to try to minimize those situations against him, he will be a help to your defense.

86, the defense has looked less sharp each game

Okay. Deep breath. It's preseason. Lol so much for defense. The Kings have almost 90 points in the third quarter.

I like Mullens effort on defense tonight. This is all we can ever ask of him.

So many blown possessions that could have cut this thing to 6 or 8.

Only the awful free throw shooting of Thompson is keeping us in this.

It's not even that Mullens is 3/3 from deep or playing good D alone. It's a completely different attitude from him tonight. GJ Mullens!

Mullens is making his shots!

I mean of course everyone has good days, but still.

So, Blake is still hurt? Looked like he was absent from the bench.

He really looks slow and uncoordinated lately

Never seen him look so average athletically. It was sad and scary to watch for me.

Well considering Blake had a rough night and the bench missing Collision it was okay.

Thoughts on this game:

CP3 working hard as usual.

Blake looked flat out sleepy out there in the 2nd half. Not really running back. Too much hesitation. His effort was definitely off. I thought he was sharper in the first half though. Hopefully he's keeping something in the tank for the start of the regular season.

Early on, we looked fantastic on defense. I was loving it. Then we started taking starters out.

I'm proud of DJ tonight. I thought he did a good job on Cousins. 3 or 4 blocks. A good rebounding night. He didn't cave to the challenge.

Other than Paul, our shots just weren't going in. Blake's, JJ's, Willie's, Matt's. Probably could have used Dudley tonight. lol

Did JJ's man score at all while he was guarding him? I swear it looked like JJ denied and pestered all night!

A bit disappointed in what I saw tonight. The very start was awesome. The rest was WTF? Not sure what to make of this effort.

Tonight showed Barnes aggressive pace fits the bench best he can apply full court pressure with Collison. Barnes has some fouls tonight being overly energetic when we needed more rotating pace defense so Dudley helps there.

Ugh... bit of a clunker apart from the first 10 minutes.

CP3 looking like he can score at will... even more than usual. DJ very solid once again. Blake might as well have taken the night off. Mullens dragging his averages up at meaningless moments. If the book on Willie is that he can play point in a pinch... that book is fiction. Jamal should have handled the ball.

Things basically go to sh!t when we have an all-reserve lineup. Starters are going to have to play big minutes if we want a good seed. The positive is that we'll only get better when rotations shorten for the playoffs

Matt needs to do what he does best, play defense and slash to the basket and cut down on 3's and long 2's which aren't his strong points. Leave that to Dudley. Not worried about the SF spot.

Yeah we finally get Barnes back to get our bench back in shape and he ends up starting, which throws off the bench again. Barnes had a rough night. To be expected missing so many games. I expect he'll be able to adjust quickly. I'm sure Redick's jumper was affected by the lack of games he played. He's probably a little winded and sore. But I'm still impressed with his movements.

Blake's been fairly impressive this preseason prior to this game. More so than I expected considering he's been asked to change up his game. I'll forgive him this one. Everybody has a bad game. Hopefully, he won't have too many during the season.

I really wish we had are starting lineup all preseason, but such is NBA life. Our starting lineup and bench will have to continue to grow together as a team during the regular season.

Our first team could have made hamburger helper out of them

Our problem is has been and always be BIGS. Ryan has effort but he can't defend "Live by the jump shot, die by the jump shot. We will never get rebound the first. We can't play our real bigs enough minutes to fill in the gaps. Is Chris Wilcox still around? PLEASE. I made a faux pas yesterday about D being effort. Hollins and Mullens don't have any lateral movement and are glacially slow. They will reliably get as torched as Ricky Davis' bong

Our problem is beating SAS, Memphis. A win against a LAL team without Kobe, an over the hill PG and nothing else means nothing except bragging rights. It may not be an easy victory. I'm worried

According to Brad Turner's tweet, Clippers waived Lou after the game! As a newbie, I can't post the link. Perhaps someone else can do it?

Too bad for Lou. He didn't make a good enough impression to hold on to a roster spot.

One of the things I like about Redick is his fire. Like Chris, he doesn't mind showing some emotion on the court. We know he occasionally celebrates when he hits 3's, but last night there was a moment when we were falling behind and he slammed the ball to the court in frustration. But also a moment when he pumped his fist in the air when Paul hit a 3. I think it's healthy to have a couple of guys in the backcourt like that!

Corner 3's aside, we held the opponents to a .329% from the 3pt area in the preseason and that's quite an improvement from last years .371%.

I see improvement. wink

Those problems don't matter. You are correct that those will front court problems will disappear. What matters is that we have Mullens and Hollins as back up bigs. Jamison is serviceable. We can live with Ryan not scoring but none of the three will get any rebounds or any points in the paint.

Any guard will beat them off the dribble since they can't move. Any good second string PF will out muscle them meaning no boards and when in the paint trying to score they won't if there's a body on them. Any good big guy can front them. Any taller guy can shoot over them.

Remember duck with its a s* on fire. Watch them then get out the orange sauce and a bottle of good red. On second thought several bottles of red. You'll need them.

And that was without Barnes and Redick... 2 high IQ perimeter guys. Defending the 3 doesn't worry me... grabbing rebounds does.

Redick also doesn't force shots either. I love that if he sees a shot he doesn't like he will pass or get in better position. That's why I give him the starters nod over Jamal Crawford, who never sees a shot he doesn't like.

That's the biggest problem with Crawford. If he is going to stick with the chemistry killing tunnel vision I really do think he should be traded. Reggie bullock was wife open all night on the perimeter and on breaks and he never even got a look from Crawford, and that doesn't even mention all the other people he overlooked.
