I remember laker fans downplaying us sweeping the season series against them, now it's one win for them and they already have the finals in their pocket......too much hype built up around this. Maybe it is good that we lost this, puts everything on an even keel for the rest of the season ....

You guys want to win a ring??? Get rid of your owner first.

He almost made Docs resign.

Clipps are deep no doubt I honestly see them getting to the WCF. They have a lot of talent.

It's just a first game and it's better to lose so the player will stay awake and learn a lesson that even without name player they can still play basketball, and that's what happen today. sometimes superstar should be embarrassed so they will play better next time.

If we come out and beat the crap out of the Warriors, this humbling was worth it. If they also torch us on the glass and from 3.... and we start 0-2... it's a problem.

How did I know this lakers team could be dangerous, but the actual players didn't? They bought into the hype too much

I know this has been said before.... But based on preseason performance, I didn't see this as unexpected.

It was a shocker to see how many offensive rebounds the lakers grabbed. Points in the paint seemed non existent as well.

This outcome was so bad, all you could do is laugh.

The team didn't look as bad to me. Looking at the stats, team shot almost 50% for the game, created 19 turnovers, and had 27 assists.

Lakers shot 14-29 from deep and had 18 offensive rebounds. This cannot happen vs any team.

CP3 can't wait until the 4th quarter to do his thing. Can't let teams hang around and expect to flip the switch.

It's going to take some time for the team to gel but I'm convinced the team needs to make a move for another big. Blake played 40 mins and DJ played 35. Only other big to play was Hollins and he was horrible. I'm surprised Mullens and Jamison didn't play.

Doc is still tinkering with the lineup and substitutions so everyone just be patient.

Classic trap game tonight. We torched those fools what 7/8 the last 2 years? They wanted this win like a game 7 of the finals but they'd never admit it lol.

It's real simple, the clippers laid an egg tonight, hell, they laid a DOZEN EGGS! and to top it off, they were scrambled! The clippers that is, not the eggs, lol! Oh well, 81 games left to get it right!

in any case, gotta give the lakers tons of credit for bringing it and absolutely deserving the win tonight. I'm happy for chris and swaggy, hope they have a great individual seasons (the rest of that squad can beat it). that being said, doc needs to show this scene from Rudy at the next team meeting (jump to the :35 second mark):

This team lost in the 1st round, 2nd round, and 1st round three seasons in a row. Both their first round losses were to teams with inferior records, at less 4 less wins. The next season they lost 105-85 in game 3 of the season to a team that finished two games over .500 and were 10-7 after the first 17 games. They gave up >105 pts in each of their first 5 losses. They ended up making it to the conference finals that same year. Who is this team?

That's why I keep saying its a wait and see game. If we blow-out Golden State and hold them to 32% 3PT, it is great, but just like this game, one game early in the season and it has no conclusive predictive value on how this season will go or how good this team is or how well the team can defend the 3PT line. It's about what the consistent pattern becomes.

If 40 games in the team is 22-18 can't defend the three point shot decently and looks out of sync, then yes, panic. If after game 2 the team is 0-2 or after game 10 the team is 5-5, please, just take a chill pill and relax and wait and see. The beginning of the season schedule is actually hard and 5-5 is quite possible.

Kobe looked pissed off after the final buzzer. I don't think he likes the fact that his team plays better without him.

I guess the scouting report didn't get through to the players' heads that the Lakers want to shoot 3's and lots them. The terrible Clippers 3 point close out/rotations defense tonight in the second half was laughable. It was actually somewhat decent in the first half, but then the speed of the Laker guards & wings wore down the Clipper defense, allowing the Lakers to hit an avalanche of open 3's to put the game away. Of course, the guards & wings not being in good positions to rebound Laker 3 point misses was a huge factor as well.

JJ Redick looked super in the first quarter, but then just completely disappeared on both ends of the floor. Jamal Crawford- missed some shots he should make in the first half. Blake Griffin- solid performance but had too many missed free throws & too many turnovers. Only 7 boards for Blake as well in 40 minutes and he will tell you that is not acceptable. Chris Paul- solid game but like Crawford missed some shots he normally would make. Jared Dudley- missed too many WIDE OPEN 3's and was a step slow on defense. Matt Barnes- good energy but too many fouls & TO's. DeAndre Jordan- GREAT game. I know he had 11 boards but he could have grabbed a couple more. Ryan Hollins on the other hand had a night he would like to forget.

If Dudley continues to struggle, it might be time to slot Bullock into the starting line-up. I suspect though the Jared will get at least 10+ games to see if he will wake up a bit.

Huge challenge vs Golden State coming up- the 3 point defense & rebounding better improve fast....

Yeah, I remember that. Now Flaker fans are on the negative side of expectations and they'll take any win against the Clippers as a huge accomplishment.

This is actually a good hurtful loss for us.. We were playing bad but we were still controlling the game until third quarter we underestimated the bench on the 4th quarter and they got hot.. For me overall, this is a good loss we just use this awful loss as a motivation and learning a lesson that anyone can beat you of you don't play defense and play as a team. We will rise up from here i guarantee any clipperfan out there.

GREAT game by DJ.... hope it's a sign of things to come. Blake was not impressive at all. We're going to need an upgrade at the 3 because Dudley is not the answer. Reddick was on fire early, why not keep going to him?

TERRIBLE way to start the season.

I hate to say it, but props to the Lakers. They came out and just balled us up. This was a good wake up call for the clippers. Glad it came early. Hopefully they are back down to earth now. Blake has no post game.

Embarassing. Most embarrassing game of my clipper life, if you read my twotter (@kingaksel) you'll see how i feel. To tired to talk here. Clippers, get your shot together, that was embarrassing. Respect to the lakers.

My one wish for this year, doc rivers makes blakes balls drop.

Can we have rookie blake back?

Also, deandre jordan > blake griffin

Well that went well. Wow. As soon as Gasol made that wide open 3 in the 1st, I knew this game wasn't going to end well. Blake was just awful to watch tonight.

Seeing Reddick and Dudley struggle really starts to make you think if the Clips got robbed in the Bledsoe deal. I know it's only one game, but this team has tons of issues that they are going to have to fix.

Finally I can post.

If you remember I said that I was worried about this game. The Lakers are a multi championship team and have the heart of champions. We played like the Clippers. Mob city is a fantasy. With Kobe it would have been a blow out. Barkley said it best. Until we can say "Blake get us 20 points and control the paint" we will lose. We are supposed to have Stockton/Malone. Fortunately I missed the last 15 min. LAL was playing like a PO team. We were playing like it was 1999. There is no excuse for them getting rebounds after freethrows.. Memphis will kill us.

As much as I hate it we may have to trade JC. As much as I hate it the trade for Love may not be a bad idea if BG doesn't shape up. I'd trade for ZBo in a heartbeat if BG isn't a beast. Won't happen. Where is Wilcox? Unfortunately I think Mullens and Hollins are guaranteed, With Kobe it would have been a blow out. Except Barnes who can guard Kobe? This is not just "one game" It's two in a row where we had no interior defense and got killed on threes. In other words we didn't, except DJ defend anything. What I would give to have Kaman

As far as Pau, DJ has to learn to get physical, body him up. He will learn, no complaint.

This is not jut one game. It's a harbinger of things to come. I'm worried

We were not controlling the game. This should have been a 40 point blowout. They were a better team. If we played like that can we make the PO's? I'm just pissed. We can't rely on LCraw isos to bail us out.

What happened????? How could their bench drop 41 on us in the 4th????????

What is going on?

Yeah the lakers won with out starters but i say it was pure luck by the bench on the fourh.. In basketball when your lucky, your lucky even a terrible bank shot that doesn't supposed to go in went in and getting every offensive rebound that just lands on your face, you didn't even have to jump for the ball you get it. I know it was a terrible game for us but this game will only help us to get better and never underestimate our opponents and every little play counts including freethrows. I'm not mad at our defense or our offense, i'm just mad at how horrible our freethrows was. Still no improvement and that is really going to hurt us when playoff comes

Team looked bad. We don't have that bench anymore. I remember we would be in a close game. Bring in the tribe called bench boom all of sudden steal dunk steal dunk steal three. Team is on its feet and starters come back in to seal the deal. We don't have that energy anymore. They didn't even name the bench this year. I know its stupid but in the grand scheme of things our team looked horrible out there.

Clippers are going 0-82! Well, maybe not. It's just one game.

For a little perspective.

The first time Lebron, Wade, and Bosh played in Miami, they started 0-1 and were only 10-8 heading into December, including a 3 game losing streak.

It takes a little while to gel, learn a new system, and learn to play together. It takes even more time when your regular rotation doesn't play it's first game together until the first regular season game and has barely practiced.

The loss sucked but it will get better. Patience is a virtue

As God is my witness, this will be the toughest day ever at work.

I must keep telling myself that all will be cool and maintain my Clipper faith that has carried me over the years and remind myself why I chose the Clippers over the Lakers when I moved to LA (Laker fans are so pompous, self righteous and represent everything I hate about Hollywood).

Now it's off to work and ready to deal with the abuse.

By the way if you hear of a workplace shooting today on the news, it could be me.

Stay strong Clipper fans, we have dealt with worse.

As a team the Lakers are so into themselves they even have stars around their logo on the paint now,how ridiculous. I think Pompous is a nice way to put it.

We have dealt with way worse (last year didn't we lose the first 3,one of those to Memphis?) and fortunately there are more then 1 game in an NBA season. If Doc is the genius he is made out to be, this will be fixed.

Let the Fakers and their fans bask in the glory of winning a game,as they proceed to win up to perhaps 30 more this year.

Well at least we make the Lakers fans happy as if it's a championship game, although every win counts we still have 81 games left, Bulls did not lost in preseason but lost to Miami, let them enjoy that win.

CP3 did not show up in 4th quarter, I don't know where is Dudley, a lot of people said he is a better shooter than Caron but after the preseason game, Caron is a better shooter than him in my own eyes.

There is a bit to be concerned about, no doubt. Last year before the regular season we got a glimpse of what these players were going to be like. This year we did again. I'm officially going to say Dudley is a problem thus far. Our bench looks attrocious too.

I wouldn't lament Bledsoe just yet. We have yet to see JJ's best stuff. Frankly he was kinda forgotten about in the 2nd half but was wide open many times. He did miss some shots but by that time he was one of many players who couldn't buy a basket. I know for a fact JJ will be a big asset as the season progresses. Still not sure about Dudley, but I know we still have Barnes and possibly Bullock who can fill in at the SF position.

I'm mad at Blake too. Particularly for his FT shooting, which is inexcusable. And his turnovers down the stretch. I wish we had that energizer bunny back who grabbed 12 boards a night (which is easier to do without the burden of playing team defense). But he's been our rock for 3 years and he's adjusting to a new system. I have no doubt that he'll find his identity under Doc and we'll see that same guy who won Western Conference Player of the Week last season. Maybe even better. DJ's having a better time of it than Blake because Doc simplified things for DJ. Don't worry about offense. Play D. Guess what? He's playing great. I think Blake is an intelligent guy and we know he's a hard worker so this shouldn't be a problem. However, if he is not able to adjust to Doc's system for some reason, then a change will probably be made.

Our offense last night was pretty damn good most of the game. Our defense is what let us down. The Lakers did play great though. Making the extra passes and absolutely on fire from beyond the arc.

It's a tough day today. I sure hope our players respond the right way next game.
