Griffin definitely should stop catching the ball and hesitating out on the perimeter, but there was a really nice clutch bank shot down on the right block that helped keep the cushion with a few minutes to go.

One bucket in the fourth for our supposed 2nd star? He only had a few good post moves in this game. Half the time he is standing on the three point line or attempting to post up way out at the 3 point line. Don't get me wrong those are good numbers but if we want to get anywhere in the playoffs he's going to need to be a real threat in the post.

still can't understate this... DJ w/ 17 rebs (10 off rebs!!!!) Those extra possessions were huge!

Doc is really going to get the best he can out of DJ this season.

I agree it was a great move but like you said he was also hesitating far too often on the perimeter. Maybe something is on his mind.

Blake needs to be a beast down low and command the double team to really make our wing shooters dangerous.

There's a reason he's standing out there by the 3 point line. It's for spacing while DJ is down low. It's something they've been working on for Doc's offense. Your going by the one play they pointed out at half time where he posted up at the elbow (not the 3 point line like they were saying). Because, again, that's where Doc has been wanting Blake primarily. He has said he wants Blake to post low less than in the past.

Besides it's about more than buckets. Blake had the best +/- of the night because him being out there makes a difference, one basket in the 4th or not.

Forgive me if i am wrong, but is it not Doc who wants Blake to play at the elbow...work on his face up game?

Blake had many hard rolls to the basket w/ CP3 drew defenders, allowing CP some of those open jumpers- not everything shows up in the stats sheet.

Good #'s & excellent game overall by Blake.

Has to make those free throws though! Need a bruiser backup though. Mullens is beyond useless.

Those were HUGE indeed. You give this potent Clipper offense a second look, and they'll make you pay. The guards & wings overall did such a better job too boxing out on long misses as well.

The rebounding was much better, but I'd still like him to be more decisive on the catch. I start to sh*t myself when I see him taking 3 or 4 dribbles without going anywhere.

Great game Clippers! Well better effort this time.

I was still worry especially with Curry shooting so hot. Almost lost it right there, but thank Point God was our savior tonight.

After two games, I still don't think we're a great team yet and it is a progress, but i'm worry that when CP3 game is off, who will be that second star. Ideally, it would be Blake, but Blake never seem to take control on the game. I don't remember when the last time Blake took over game beside the rookie season. Hopefully, this season will answer my calling.

We're not a post team. We need to accept that. In BOS, KG shot mostly midrange shots. The post-up is the most statically inefficient play in b-ball. Doc knows this.

That is exactly what I mean. I don't know if the stats back this up Tense, but it seems like Blake shrinks away especially in the second half these past couple of years.

It's only two games in so i'm not overreacting.

We all know Vinny gave the ball to CP3 in the 4th quarter to take over regardless of how well Blake played. So while Blake should get some blame for his lack of production down the stretch of games the last couple of years, it's definitely not all his fault.

Worked pretty well for Blake in his 1st year....which most posters would like him to duplicate. He commanded a double/triple team then.

Blake's numbers were fine - but his confidence seems to diminish every year. This is a problem. Why won't he just work out with Hakeem?

Sorry but your post doesn't make since. You sound

like a blake hater.

How does he need to post up more WHEN HE ONLY

HIT ONE JUMP SHOT AND WAS 9/12.

8 of those buckets came in the post. What game were

you watching?

How can you find something to complain about when a PF

goes 9/12 with 10 rebounds.

Most of these posters also never coached or played in

a professional basketball game in their life.

Blakes 1st year was his worst year team wise. Our

team was horrible, so it was ok for him to go

buck wild and crash into the lane like a freight train.

But every commentator agreed you won't last long

playing like blake played in his first season.

Blake killed the post tonight. He had a few nice looking hook shots,

some dunks, and one jump shot.

He only missed 3 shots.

I'm not sure he watched the game. I think he just watched the half time report.

Yep definitely room to improve there- that's a turnover waiting to happen too often. I'd like him to drive more towards the middle & elevate instead of the baseline where they can trap him easier. But yeah, just go quicker in general + more face-ups.

I don't get the some of the comments about him "posting up" around the 3 point line, however. When he far away from the basket, he is in catch and hand off/pick and roll plays, not a post up play.

I must say, Golden State was my least favorite team to watch against the Clippers last year because of the way they destroyed us, especially with 3's. Of course, they were deadly against most teams but they flat out killed us. Last year, if Curry hit 9 three pointers against us, we would have lost big. But we persevered tonight. Partially because we didn't allow their other guard to kill us also. We held Klay Thompson to just 7 attempts and -13 in 38 minutes! Great job by our SG's!

Yeah, he's definitely not posting up 20-feet away. I think the over-dribbling is because he's trying to draw in a second defender to kick out. But if he just caught the ball, jab-stepped, then tried to beat his man, he'd get fouled every single time. Even if it's ball-out or he only makes 50%, he's getting opposing bigs in trouble early. Opens things up for him later on.

Not to be argumentative but I am pretty sure he did that at least 3 times today. He is way too indecisive with the ball which hopefully will dissipate as the season rolls on.

When he was decisive like that, it led to good things... when he stood there taking 4 or 5 dribbles, it didn't... that was my point.

Yep can't disagree w/ that rationale. I have no problem w/ him missing like 40% of the FT's when he is being aggressive and getting opposing bigs in foul trouble early.

He (and CP3) got Lee in foul trouble which helped. Hopefully Blake, DJ & gang can draw some on Cousins tomorrow as well. Get that dude frustrated early and he might just implode.

Great game to be at. This years intro video is so far better than previous years. Steph Curry is rediculousssss. Thankfully he's not as good in the other areas of basketball as he is shooting.

This I was more scared Thompson would come on eventually. Imagine when they figure out how to consistently get each other going at the same time. No other team would of came closer to surviving what GSW did

watching the game live was amazing! a bit disappointed with a solid amount of GSW fans. It's fine, the win was just that sweeter.

Good game could have done better. not a criticism. There were several miscommunications leading to TO's. Blake is learning to drive to the hoop but he travels. I don't think CP Doc and BG are on the same page yet. Mullens is is a slump. He was killing in shootaround. These will be fixed by playing together. We are lucky Jermaine O'Neil got hurt because they lost a big body. We had nothing else resembling a big. DJ can't play that many minutes especially banging inside.

DJ is also being physical in the post. Matt hammered some guy who tried to do a lay up. "No lay up rule"??? What I'd give for KMart.

Great game. But not the best of signs, I still honestly think they are (just slightly) better than us but hope we win the season series. Warriors didn't have Barnes and not only was their flight canceled last night, but they were playing a back to back against us on our court and we gave 110 percent effort.

Honestly, Paul couldn't have played better. But other than Curry the Warriors didn't do that good, and we know Curry can play like that on any given night. He had multiple 40 point games in the playoffs, this is only Paul's 2nd or 3rd 40 pt game ever, so I expect the match up to favor Curry in points next time.

As far as Deandre, great hustle, but everyone on youtube is laughing at him shoving Bogut. Bogut shoved him back 5 times harder and Blake had to catch him. Deandre should just keep on focusing on his game and not get too emotional over one play. Work on your free throws and don't go crazy over people stronger than you. It's mortifying, I was cringing hard.

I disagree. They still scored 115 points and shot high% so it's not like they were off. Our defense was just mediocre.

As far as deandre pushing, Bogut was dumb doing that and risking getting ejected.

i cannot believe this post. I completely disagree with your assessment. I was at the game and we were simply dominating them. The warriors made 14/14 first free throws...an aberration. We defended the three very well. This was just a well executed plan by Doc Rivers taking away their strengths, shooting. On tv the camera pans out and you can't see all the players and how they're defending most of the time at the game you can see everything. Trust me when I say that we were not letting them get any open shots.

DJ pushing Bogut is just "handbags" (soccer term for fighting that should be played down), who cares if people are chatting about it on youtube.

And as for not being the best of signs.......................come on. A bad sign is us tanking to the Fakers bench. If we play the warriors next game, the team that some think are the best in the west and we win I'll take that as a good sign thank you very much!

Effort is something that can be brought every night. Making 30ft jumpers with a hand in your face isn't.

And I think it's great that DJ shoved Bogut. Kid needed a little more fire in his game. Let them laugh... DJ came out with the 'W'. He who laughs last...

DJ sat out quite a bit of the third if I'm not mistaken. If he was in the game longer he would have seriously gotten more rebounds than Dwight did in his season opener
