Yeah I'm not sure how helpful it is to rest Jamison until "later". Shouldn't he stay in "basketball shape"?

Yea. Besides why not just keep his minutes low instead of DNP's? Play the guy at least 7-8 minutes a night to keep in shape and build chemistry.

Agreed. We don't want him getting rusty.

It's like an old car. The best way to keep it running is to drive it at least a little bit every couple days. Let it sit for months or years at a time is far more damaging to it.

I see what you did there.

I am not sure Jamison would be too pleased with that analogy Wink

Do we not realize what Jamison did for us in the preseason game against Denver! Fighting down low with JJ Hickson and making shots!!! Mullens is a third-stringer and that is just it! Hollins is just an energy guy and a guy who fouls a lot! Kinda like an a lot bigger and more skillful version of Lou Amundson! Emeka Okafor is the best Possibility right now to form our 5-man bench unit

Darren Collison Jamal Crawford Matt Barnes Antawn Jamison Emeka Okafor

Maybe Doc is saving Jamison for when Omeka gets here????? He is saving him for when they get that other big(whoever it maybe.... Hopefully Okafor) Doc said he doesn't think this bench is a 5-man unit! Our bench last year was a 5-man unit until it becomes one it was just be a 1-man unit with Jamal hahaha!!! I'm looking forward to the season though and seeing how things come together

Doc's playing Byron and Hollins as if it's still preseason and they're trying out for the team. I think soon he will move on from this failed experiment and put Jamison and/or a newly acquired 3rd big in their place.

Ralph and Mike talked about this last night and the reason is that Doc already knows what he can get out of Jamison, he wants to see how Mullens and Hollins can play in the system first but like you said, we'll probably sign another big too.

Would it make more sense to play Jamison to keep him in game sharp? It's lot different from playing in practice than in the game.

I think Doc knows what's needed to keep Jamison "sharp".

I was at the game last night and I have to say I am super impressed by Deandre Jordan. He is very vocal on defense and played Cousins very well. He even made I think 3 straight free throws down the stretch! I know its only 3 games in but I think he is starting to get it. As people have said I think the defense will get better as the season goes on. Mullets sucks canal water and I pray that we get another backup big. The dude was left wide WIDE open and bricked almost all of his 3s and defensively he runs like he is in quicksand. Don't get me started on Hollins. Another concern I have is Blakes offensive passivity towards the end of games. One of the Clipper fans in my section made a point that Blake is not a SG so he shouldn't be hanging out on the perimeter lol.

I know the threads not up yet but I have a few concerns about facing Houston. First, they have Howard on PF. I think that means Blake will be guarding him. How's that going to work out? Blake's guarded him before I believe so hopefully it won't be too big a deal. He'll definitely have to hit the boards big time.

My biggest concern is with Harden. JJ's done a good job on D against other SG's so far defensively, but Harden's a different animal altogether. He's only about an inch taller than JJ but he's kinda burly. He'll probably be able to post on JJ and he's also great at attacking the basket. I guess this is where trusting your teammates comes into play.

^Simple all we have to do is put DJ on Dwight. Asik is offensively inept so he won't be able to do much on BG. I am not overly worried about Harden. They have Harden. We have CP3. We win that battle. Lin won't be able to contain Cp3 at all.

Yeah that's true. I keep thinking Paul will have a bad game soon. lol

I sure hope our shooters hit their targets tomorrow.

^ Also, Dwight guarding Blake is a good thing... he can be pretty foul-prone. Just hope our bigs play smart and stay out of trouble... I can't bear the thought of Mullens and Hollins manning the paint against Houston's bigs. There's a very good chance that fouls will decide this game.

This is going to be tough game, Houston is much better than you think. They'll end up being the #1 or 2 seed out of the West IMO.

I don't have any doubts that Houston is going to be a great team. They are elite offensively and defensively. I just prefer to remain optimistic.

Houston is a great team and only way I see us winning is by forcing turnovers. Blake won't have to guard Asik but on offense they will give him hell. The biggest x factor will be the Dudley vs Parsons match up because I think Harden with cancel out Paul and Lin will put about the same amount of points as Redick.
