Not full time, he's always been the most complete PG in the NBa for years now. His scoring has gone down since his arrival here. But he's got a really nice shot, shoots at high percentages and the KILL factor isn't in Blake or anyone else right now.

What I mean by this is, CP3 was always looked upon to take the last shots in games in NOLA. He put up 20+ PPG multiple years while still dishing out 8-12 dimes nearly every night.

With more focus on CP3, Redick Blake and DJ will be more open for uncontested shots or easy buckets. I'm not saying CP3 should put up 25 a night, but 18-22 isn't a stretch. He's a great foul shooter and gets to the line a good amount.

His court vision is amazing, but I think if the opportunity is there to shoot, or to make a move or two and shoot he should take it. It's not Blakes team, hasn't been since CP3's arrival. He's a team guy I know this, but I think he should perhaps continue his nice scoring output he has, while he's still getting loads of assists.

Just my 2 cents but I'd like to see CP3 put up more 20/10 nights and not just for my fantasy team, but for the team. He's more than capable of really setting the bar higher for PGs and for people to really see he's a killer when he continues to make those dagger buckets left and right to put us in a larger lead.

Well it seems Doc wants him to be more aggressive so you may get what you want.

Will be nice to see how it plays out. I really think the team is clicking well even though it's been 3 games. I like how DJ seems to have found a bit of a spark, Blake is performing well and CP3 is really over performing at times.

Would be nice to have Bledsoe here too Sad Following him closely, I miss em!

You mean his scoring has gone down post injury. The season immediately after his knee injury he had a season where he averaged only 15.9 ppg. His first season on the Clippers he nearly averaged 20 ppg so I don't see a lack of scoring tbh. Last season he could have scored more but he played fewer minutes especially in the 4th where he scores a lot and he had more apg.

He will be more aggressive this season which will be key but greater aggressiveness doesn't necessarily equate to more scoring. It could also mean that he will get more apg since his aggressiveness will open up things for other players so he can make the right play to the open man.

That being said I expect something around the ballpark of 20/10 this season. He will have his best season as a Clipper and arguably his best season yet.

we definitely do need to see him set the tone for his team and score early. If he continues on a pattern of only distributing first half then scoring second half teams can plan for that, but if he's doing both from the get go defenses will have a hard time knowing who to cover.

Chris has had the wrong philosophy in his mind with his time during the Clippers!

His Philosophy is if I get everyone else going then I can start going and being aggressive!

Doc's Philosophy is if you start out aggressive them every one else gets going!!! And I think Doc has put that in Chris Paul!!! The change Doc has mad to this team is crazy!!! If you are like me and see the little stuff the team does is amazing! Doc Yelling," GET UP THE FLOOR, RUN RUN RUN" and the team actually doing it is amazing! Vinny would yell Push The Tempo and Chris would still go up the court slowly!!!! Doc on the sidelines give me chills

I always said when you have the best shooter (with exception of his 3pt shooting although it's not bad) on your team, than he needs to shoot. Paul is close to his FGA's per game so far as it was in the 2 years he averaged over 20 points a game.

He shot a little more from the rim in those days, but his FG% in the regular season from mid-range to the long 2 area is higher overall the last 2 years. Don't have the numbers so far for this season's small sample size, but my gut feeling is he's shooting the best in his career from those area's. Keep up the shooting/aggressiveness Chris.

I think I understood the old philosophy though. If Paul were to look to score from the get go then his shooters don't develop the same shooting groove later in the game. But it might be true that he may have been slightly too passive early in games. Think there's a middle ground that he'll find sooner than later.

Completely agree about Doc! God I love seeing designed plays being run. I'm seriously baffled when I see DJ planting a double screen for JJ off the ball. The level of basketball sure escalated quickly

I like him being really aggressive so long as it also translates to JJ and Jared getting more open looks. So far, I don't think we've utilized either of our two new perimeter weapons half as effectively as we could. I'm noticing JJ running curls and off screens far too many times where Chris decides not to pass to him for whatever reason...Jameer Nelson was great about hitting JJ with perfectly timed passes in Orlando, but I realize that their chemistry took time to develop. CP3's continued aggression will only be a good thing as this team gels a bit more and we see Jared and JJ's scoring averages begin to climb.

I think cp3 wanted BG to be the scorer. And even though in the off-seasn BG said he will take more offensive responsibility and relieve CP, he hasn't done it. In 4 quarter of any close game, BG doesn't want the ball. If he gets it he passes immediately without looking at the rim. In my opinion, CP3 says, "ok if you don't want it, I'll take it"

That Is going to be a problem again come playoff time. I don't want to guarantee it because the season is still young, but if Blake continues to shy away from taking that responsibility were a 1st or second round casualty again.

It's more about him being aggressive than him scoring. When he's aggressive, it just opens up so much for everyone else. It opens up passing for him too. When he's just kinda chilling and allowing guys to do their thing, it is nice, but it really isn't the best thing for the team.

Paul can do what Rose and Westbrook do except MUCH better than them, that's how good of a player he is.

It is interesting that they said defense was ahead of offense in the pre-season, but certainly right now, offense looks a lot better. Defense is hard to judge after a few games though, I haven't watched intently enough to see if there are system issues or if it's just been a situation where teams have played well.

3 games in, the Clippers have the second best offense (115.2 Ortg) and the worst defense (112.8 Drtg).

Lakers: 115.6 Warriors: 111.0 Kings: 114.2

So far there hasn't been one good defensive game, so we'll see how it plays out as more time goes on.

We'll be a first round casualty if the defense is atrocious like last playoffs. The offense is good enough to beat most first round opponents. The offense in combination over 7 games was the 4th best offense in the playoffs. It was good enough to beat Memphis last season quite easily actually if there was any ounce of defense played. It was also easily good enough to beat OKC who would have been the second round opponent.

The offense is much more dynamic this season, so it should be even better than last season in the playoffs. In addition, we have to remember that last season's playoff offense included two games of basically useless Griffin and that the play from the starting 2/3 was non-existent.

So if that offense was acceptable to win a first round series, this team should easily be able to produce an acceptable offense to win. The question is can this team produce a good enough defense to win?

You're 100% correct about Griffins aggressiveness and team defense. It's so refreshing to see a more diversified offense this season.

I disagree, it seems the last 3 games CP hasn't been dishing to Blake when he is the perfect position to score, so many times I can recall Blake being guarded by a bad defender and Blake has his hand in the air asking for it and he dishes it to DJ at the top of the key or someone else who's being closely guarded instead. I also recall so many times when CP would pass to BG at the top of the key and force him to create on his own shot and it makes Blake look bad when he has to ISO it against 2 defenders in the paint and 1 guarding him.

I think it's just a communication thing right now, I think Blake wants to go more down low and CP seems to want him to create from 15 feet and out. Blake is being aggressive offensively, but he's also not dumb and isn't going to try and be a 1 on 1 mid range player so he ends up passing on that opportunity instead, which is the right play.

But 2:00 minutes left in a game will still always be Chris time, no matter what.

^ Not worried about the Rockets. They beat the Bobcats,Mavs, and Jazz. The Mavs was a decent win but the other 2 are lottery teams. They are weak at the 4 so hopefully Blake takes advantage of that. And CP3 should dominate Lin.Gonna be a good game but I still think the Warriors and Spurs are more dangerous than the Rockets.

There is no such thing at this point at least from an athleticism perspective but CP3 is better in some ways. His mid range game is a bit better, his 3 point shot should be better(I think last season was an anomaly), and he is more experienced. Most importantly thought he will have more opportunities with much better coaching(Byron Scott isn't very good) and better players.

I think an 18-22/10-11 season isn't out of the question.

I think it's important for CP3 to take a lot of the scoring load for now. At least until our new guys Redick and Dudley get more comfortable. As solid as they've been so far, I think they're only going to get better as they get accustomed to playing with Paul and Griffin. I also think it's important for Blake to adjust with this whole to-elbow-or-not-to-elbow scenario.

Once BG settles into the Doc/Gentry offense as well as JJ and Jared settling into their roles, Paul shouldn't have to do quite SO much on offense. It'll still be important for him to be a major threat to opposing guards, but he will need some of the other players to lighten his load.

Basically Paul switched a lot of his floaters in the lane that he did in his younger days for mid-range jumpshots. His mid-range jumpshot was already pretty good, but he took it from good to deadly.

If the sole focus was to be a high scorer, Paul could drop 23-24 PPG at .570 TS% or higher, it isn't something that he isn't capable of for a whole season, but he doesn't need to do that either.

The thing is dropping 23-24 ppg isn't necessarily beneficial to our offense. Generally speaking stars score more when they have less offensive help because its a necessity. With the amount of weapons we have 20/11 is much better than 24/9.

When you build a sailboat you take her out on shake down cruises. You not only look for but try to cause problems. His scoring at this point should be icing on the cake. He needs to find out now how let's say to get Dudley involved. When to dish to DJ etc. His job now isn't to score. I would rather see everybody in double figures with CP at 18ppg that him having 30 and everybody playing like the Kobe ettes.

I used to play pool with a buddy. When you were bending over to shoot he goosed you with his cue and disturbed your shot, only once. Later in the game he didn't have to touch you to cause problems. He stood behind you and smiled. You watched him rather that the balls. This is CP's role until we need his scoring.

Has that guy ever thought of doing Infomercials? I have never seen two guys hate a team like they hate us.He reminds me of George Jefferson of Good Times. The other guy reminds me either of the Mummy without the wrap or the work of an amateur taxidermist.

Speaking of shake down cruises. We just finished her and took her out to test things. All was well. We were a few miles out and unfortunately the wind died and we couldn't move. No problem, just start the engine. Unfortunately we forgot to check it and it didn't work so we were stuck till the wind came up.

More unfortunately I looked up and saw an airplane landing. Most unfortunately my ex was on it and I was supposed to be at the airport. She was not amused.

A classic example is my icon Wilt. When he stopped being an offensive beast and lead the league in assists and the record for most or second most for consecutive triple doubles his team did better.

I really like the way he's playing now. He's not forcing anything and really letting the game come to him. I never understood what analysts or coaches meant when they used that phrase (letting the game come to him) but watching Chris play early this season has really shown me what that means. He's picking his spots, scoring when either the opportunity presents itself, or when the team NEEDS a score.
