i don't know how to post tweets, but this is what he was saying. I don't think there is much indication of resigning, but Craig Smith wants to be back.

let's make it happen Doc! I made my username in homage to Craig!

He's been talking to me and others on Twitter about wanting to return but the Clippers haven't called. Doesn't somebody on this forum have Roeser's phone number? Call him up and tell him to call Rhino. Sure as hell better than Mullens.

I only see people saying that they want him back and him saying that he wants to be on the Clippers too on his twitter. Also seems like he is supporting the Clippers. What happened to him anyway? He was a decent role player. Would be a solid backup PF. If we get him all we need is a decent backup C and we are all set.

THIS

Amir would be the perfect back yo big, he can rebound, defend pretty good and can hit a jumpshot and 3point shot.

And he'll be happy to come back home to LA.

Smith actually wouldn't be a bad option to play 11-13 minutes behind Blake. Wonder how he would do with the defensive schemes.

Like someone else said, then just need to look for a C.

Ayon + Smith, get it done a Doc Wink

Bring back the Rhino! we need bench scoring, especially inside. would be a nice pickup imo.

Gee if only the Raptors still had Colangelo as gm so we can rip them off for Amir. Its a shame they have a good gm now Razz.

Rhino is too short. Amir would be a good option but i don't think he is available.

I can't believe the Clips think Mullens and Hollins are acceptable backup big men - that is no quickness at all in the interior.

Bad GM's are the best as long as you aren't a fan of the team.

What bad GM's are left though?

I would say the Knicks have a pretty bad owner, which could translate to being able to rip them off on a deal. Mullens for Tyson Chandler? Razz

Kupcake. Only an idiot would have given old man Nash a 3-year deal.

Shame the NBA will probably bail him out by signing off on Nash's retirement due to medical reasons, thereby clearing his salary from their books next year.

^Have a feeling that was more of Jimmy boy's move along with the other bad "stuff" last year then Mitch's.

^ You may be right, but if he wasn't behind the series of ham-fisted "moves" they've made recently and had any self-respect at all, he would have taken his talents elsewhere to showcase his supposed business acumen. Looks like he's handcuffed himself to the good Doctor's 'challenged' offspring now... and that alone makes him an idiot.

Nah, Kupchak is a good GM. We can hate him, but I respect Mitch.

The league needs another David Kahn so 29 teams are happy about that.

Rhino? Yes.

Amir? He is virtually untradeable, unless they can move somehow Gay with him. I dont see that happening.

Ayon or Antic? Like.

Bass? Dont

Zaza or Udoh? Yes.

Hawes? Might work.

McBob? Why not? Better options, sure, but he is decent.

Tyrus Thomas? after picking up a FA from Lolcats, hell no.

You may think that it's the truth but it is not. Crawford is our 4th best player and we play so much better with him on the floor. He's not only scoring lights out but he's passing the ball well and getting assists. He's been playing great with the starting unit when he replaces Dudley too. Collison, Barnes and a slightly above average big will not get it done offensively. We do need a big but not at the expense of a guy that will win us games like JC does. Crawford is an extremely valuable and important player to the success of this team.

i still think we should have signed landry over barnes and artest would have came because we would have needed a back up 3 and i think we would have had a better team and landry I'm sure would not be hurt if he was a clipper

This horse is dead. Quit beating it lol.

I and others have gone to great lengths in making the case for acquiring Amir Johnson or someone similar. We collectively accept that a player like Amir will likely only end up in a Clipper uniform if Jamal is traded. There's nothing more to be said. The strengths and weaknesses of Jamal and our overall roster are well understood.

Our backup bigs have very low bball iq

Your great lengths of reasoning does not make it correct. You have your opinions, however I and others do not think that a player like Johnson will be enough to make up for the loss of Jamal. Your opinion is well understood however.

Agree to disagree is where things stand. (At least until Blake or DJ misses a game or two, then I'm sure the horse will come back to life!)

Guys, we can go back and reflect on whether we should have sign those previous big guys. But right now, that is not a case anymore. this is our bench from here to now on and might as well ride on it. I have faith that our bench with be fine. Even a little bit faith on Bryon Mullens, I could already see some improvement. Let see how our bench progress throughout the season. There is no rush to make a move.

I admire your patience. In my book we definitely need another back up big but waiting for the right guy to come along is better than getting someone else that can't cut it.

I hope he comes along sooner than later cos our bench at the moment is in a sorry state. If Barnes and Collison can improve it should help. I am surprised that Jamison does get any minutes to at least build some chemistry.

New user, just wandering what ideas you guys have to deal with back up big problem? i.e what trades do you see working or FA's worth signing

Love the title. Hollins in the last few games has started to come around. If Jamison is ready, then I think we'll be fine. Just need a banger down low in case we play Memphis

I hear we're still interested in L.O. if he can get his personal life together and get in shape for the second half of the season.
