I have nothing to hide, I straight up expected and SAID we would lose after the horseshit start. That being said first time all year we showed that toughness and grit. Griffin/Reddick/DJ/Crawford won it for us. Where the fu** was CP3? It seems to be a consistent pattern that CP3 disappears vs good teams on the road.. last year I don't think he played well even once on the road vs a contending team. I'm starting to think he's a diva and isn't buying in like Blake/DJ/Redick are.
That doesn't even make sense. He doesn't do good against contending road....

What improved defensive effort there in the 3rd quarter after 4 or 5 minutes had gone by. Guys were more ready take the challenge of keeping their man in front of them, and the intensity defensively was much better. They got stops, held Houston to 1 shot, and got multiple offensive opportunities (thanks to DJ), and made the most of them. This was unlike in the first half where Houston guards were penetrating at will.

GREAT game by JJ Redick. He started out very nicely like usual, & played a big part in keeping the Clippers within striking distance. He then kept up the terrific play into the second half on both ends of the floor. This was probably JJ's best all-around game as a Clipper thus far. Blake Griffin had another good game with some good hoops inside, good D & rebounding. CP didn't have a great game but made his share of good plays in the second half to help stretch the lead and seal the game. Jamal was off most of the game but then & hit some huge shots to help give the Clippers the big lead in the 4th. That buzzer-beater tip in at the end of the 3rd quarter was BIG in helping keep the momentum going in the 4th.

Going forward, hopefully guys will take it more upon themselves in keeping their man in front of them the ENTIRE GAME, and defensively the team will be so much better.

BTW nice to see Bullock get his feet wet- too bad he didn't score, but grabbed a couple of boards.

Does NBA Gametime have some sort of clause in the contract stipulating they must hold out there Clipper highlights until, like, FOREVER?

Take away the road stipulation. Go look at CP3's splits.. and you'll quickly add up 15+ bad games against good teams. We can't have that from our superstar. He needs to be BETTER against great teams and he can relax some against bad teams. Seeing guys like Sefalosha hold him to 4-15 shooting etc is discouraging.

You and me both. I had Clippersfan86 keeping filling me in. I told my wife that I wasn't going to watch the game tonight because I wasn't up for that emotional roller coaster this team can put me through. Glad to be back in the win column. We just need to stop these streaks though, We go from 3-1 with wins against top tier talent, to 3-3 against winnable opponents like Orlando. We still have that bad habit of digging ourselves in a hole

Welp...I must admit I figured we'd go 1-3 on this trip, but I thought it would be a win at Orlando, with losses in Miami and Houston. I think we'll be a better team than Houston, but I figured their wanting payback would trump our needing a win.

I think that the Golden State Game, and Houston games had one thing in common: Chris Paul setting the pace early and not letting up. But when he decides to save up his energy for only the second half the results don't look as great. I think it trickles down to the rest of the team as well.

If your top star isn't doing well then they don't double up on him or focus the game plan on him. When your top star is doing well the team strategy has to shift to contain them and that leaves others open to operate more freely than they normally would.

Also, on a side note I was looking at the win loss column and we do much better when CP3 averages more than 20 points. The only exception to this was tonight.

vs. Lakers-Lost, scored 15

vs. GSW-Won, scored 42

vs. Sacramento-Won, scored 26

vs. Houston-Won, scored 23

vs. Orlando-Lost, scored 18

vs. Miami-Lost, scored 11

vs. Houston-Won, scored 14

I think you are equating bad shooting night with bad game. CP3 isn't Lebron. He is going to have a lot of off shooting nights since he relies so much on his mid range jumper to score. He doesn't get much easy points off dunks and layups. Look at any other top PG and they have even more off nights. Not to mention he is a PG not a SG, SF or PF so it is fine if he doesn't look to score as long as he is a doing a good job running the offense and the team as a whole is doing well offensively. Sometimes CP3 does poorly due to the opposing defense, sometimes due to his shot not falling and sometimes due to a lack of aggressiveness or a combination of the above. The point is even if he is shooting 3/11 its not necessarily due to a lack of effort or even him being shut down like you imply. You can't compare him to guys like Lebron or Durant. At the end of the day he is a 5'11 PG.

He is very capable of torching great defensive teams if his shot is on like he did in 5 out of 6 games against the Griz in the playoffs. If it is off he will do poorly sometimes even if he up against poor defenses.

Think about it. Does this really tell you anything? All this really says is that if your superstar is shooting well your team is more likely to win which is kind of obvious. In the Orlando game most of our team played like crap. In the Miami game CP3 was aggressive but he was shut down by double teams. In the Houston game his shot wasn't falling but he did make plays.

This was the best "team win" tonight. They showed a lot of heart by coming back from that horrible first half. Great game.

Repped High Quality Post

Well said!! I just finished watching the game and it was so ugly at fist. When crawford made that tip in it just seemed like we had good momentum going our way.

Finally saw the Dudley we need on offense. His defense and rebounding were awful (he loves to cheat on d) but if he can play solid offense and shoot like that it would be very nice. Bullock finally got a few minutes which I was happy about his defense looked good shooting not very good but that will come. That 4 guard or 3 guard 1 small forward and a big lineup is a killer to us of the shots aren't falling as we had virtually no rebounding. Was nice once the two bigs come in or at least the forward is boxing out.

Great comeback victory for us and looking for more.

Loved the numbers DJ was putting up, didn't love having to have him taken out at the end of the 4th quarter because of FT's

Totally agree. That come back will be important for confidence cos the TWolves are no pushover at the moment KLove is on fire.

I am not sure he is on fire. Yes he shoots free throws well at 84%, but he is shooting about 47% from field and 31% on threes while taking about 6 three point shots a game.

For a big man that % is low, but if you take the 3 out of his game he is at about 55% from the field. By doing that his 27 point a game drops.

Good point. I didn't look at the stats I just know he is scoring a lot of pts and the Wolves are on a roll.

He gets over 8 FTA per game. Overall, he is scoring 27.2 ppg on 59TS% which is absolutely superb along with nearly 15 boards a game. I would say he is on fire. He is also averaging 5 apg and rarely turns the ball over and his defense seems to have improved. Not really much you can complain about considering his team is doing well too. Now the question is does he and his team stay healthy? I also doubt he sustains this level of play. He will fall off a bit but still play at a very high level.

It will be fun to see Blake Griffin match up against him tomorrow.

If Love's defense has improved then it's almost infinitesimal. Blake should be able to score on Love. Hopefully he stays aggressive. Kevin Martin was a Clipper killer on OKC last season. However, we are a little better defending shooting guards this year so far. If Redick and Crawford can do to Martin what they did to Klay Thompson, I'll be happy. I think Rubio will be fun to watch, but CP3 should be a beast against him.

Blake Griffin has a 61TS%. The leader at PF is K. Martin at .799% and the leader at at least 30MPG is Amir Johnson at 65%.

Blake has a lower usage rate, and gets to the line at about 7 times a game.

PPS (Points Per Shot) Blake is at 1.46 and Love is at 1.41.

Blake is scoring more efficiently but both are very efficient scorers atm not to mention Love scores on higher volume and rebounds more. Not really going to get into this. Not interested in BG vs Love comparisons.

^ LOL, move over Chris, there's a new sheriff in town. Now if only the refs would recognize Hardens head fakes and not call fouls every f*cking time.
