I just have a hard time blaming Mullens for DC gambling on Defense and letting his man get to the rim continuously, once he stop gambling the bench got better on D. FACT.

DC still sucks on defense and so does our overall bench D but with Mullens we were a level or two below suck. Every time he was on the court the opposing players had easy layups. He makes Amare Stoudemire look competent on defense. He couldn't play defense without fouling or doing something really stupid. Also sucks on offense. Literally nothing redeemable as a player.

In last three-four seasons there was never a Clippers player I actually disliked until Mullens came....

I guess what I don't get from one or two people here is why they don't like Redick. Not all of his critics here, but just one or two. Is it a Duke thing? Is it something else?

Because arguments over who should start, Crawford or Redick are fair. Agree to disagree and all that.

But the guy comes in and gives us 16 points a game and his best all around season (up until the injury)...and a couple of guys act like he's garbage or something. No appreciation for what he's brought to the team.

The difference between me and those guys, is I'm happy to have both JJ and Jamal. Especially the way they were both playing together. Those one or two guys aren't happy at all to have JJ Redick. It's too bad.

So 8 more games before the target date of Jan 15. You think JJ might try to go for earlier and play against his old team, Orlando, on Jan 6th?

He'll need to get back in playing and shooting shape. I think it'll be at least the 15th at the earliest.

It doesn't really matter who starts they are like ying and yang different but equally important

At this point without JJ its basically CP,Blake, and jamal but the 4th is needed because that 4th guy gets great shots because of the passing of the other three. With JJ that 4th guy is always either him or Jamal .

Really? I know I read somewhere the target is January 15th so that should be fun to see. Hate that it's his shooting arm...gunna be some real rust to shake off.

Still, at least we'll have more ammo on the wing for our 7 game January road trip.

Some more news. As we know, the cast is off. However he has no range of motion yet due to the atrophy. And he hasn't done more than shoot "from 5 feet". Still, I'm hopefully he'll be good by Jan 15th, still.

Bullock could play this weekend.

hopefully he doesn't try to come back early. the problem with basketball players is that their sense of competition is high even to the point of detriment. despite not being healthy enough a basketball player will always get back on the court if given the opportunity.

So, I read a report that Mark Jackson said his GS team might be out for revenge against Orlando (last night) "if you brought JJ Redick back"...I went back to look at what he was talking about and sure enough Redick faced GS 3 times last year (once with the Bucks) and killed them every single time. Not so much by the number of points but timely daggers. And in all 3 games Klay Thompson was terrible.

REDICK GETTING CLOSER TO RETURN

Clippers guard J.J. Redick, who was averaging 15.8 points in 17 games before he went down with a fractured right hand and torn ligament in his wrist on Nov. 29, is no longer wearing a cast and may be inching closer to a return to the lineup.

"He's had the cast off for a week," Rivers said. "He's had a black splint on. [The splint] is just for protection, but I don't think he needs it anymore."

Redick has been regularly working out to stay in cardiovascular shape while recovering from the injury, which was slated to take 6-8 weeks before his return to the court. Rivers said he has no official timetable for Redick's return.

The Clippers play the Lakers on Jan. 10, which is exactly six weeks away from when Redick's injury took place. After that they have four days off and play another home game against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 15 before departing on their second seven-game road trip of the season the following day.

In the meantime, Rivers said Redick is still trying to build strength in his shooting wrist.

"I haven't talked to [Jasen Powell] at all, just talking to J.J., he said the atrophy [has been a problem] and he's amazed how he doesn't have any range of motion, which is natural when you have a cast on his wrist," Rivers said.

Forward Reggie Bullock, who sustained a high ankle sprain on Dec. 7, participated in shooting drills before practice. Bullock believes he should be available to return within the 7-10 days, if not sooner.

Heck, just a week ago Doc said JJ had no range of motion in that hand. Looks better already! JJ's a hard working, no-quit type of guy. He's also an emotional guy on the court. Can't wait to have that back soon.
