You are kind of missing the point. My point is its not a good idea to throw a rook into a 20+ mpg situation when he has no nba experience. You need to ease him in slowly.

I said earlier, I had it in my knee for over two years. It started of as a little pain that I could deal with, which is usually how it starts. Just a little soreness after and you can easily go through it. Problem is that I didn't take any significant time off, and then it progressed to prolonged soreness and these random sharp pain when I would plant with the foot sometimes. I could still sort of push my way through that, just that consecutive days of playing were not pleasant. It then progressed to not just the sharp pain and soreness, but also limited range of motion, I couldn't really bend my knees on my jumpshot without it being uncomfortable.

I iced, I got a knee band, etc, etc, but I just needed time off.

After I decided to stop being dumb, I took about 4 months off sports activity along with daily ice to get back to normal.

It's actually what kept Danny Granger out, untreated tendinitis / tendinosis.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-bas ... mpers-knee

He was supposed to miss three months but ended up missing a whole season. I basically had the same injury, patellar tendinosis due to jumpers knee, there is a negative to having a high vertical, so I actually decided to take the time off when I read Granger's issue and treatment plan.

Since when did hockey plus minus numbers become so relevant to a player's contribution. Those numbers can be so skewed. If your playing with a group that is performing well than you can play mediocre and look like you've done something and vise versa. Those numbers are reflective of both team's players on the court at any given time. Put him in with a different unit and it's a whole new ballgame. Look at the relevant individual stats when comparing players if you want to see what an individual is doing. Plus minus can be used as some kind of indicator but it's pretty subjective when judging an individual's play to say the least.

I completely agree and I mentioned something along those lines earlier. I mentioned his +/- from the other night only to assist in making my larger point.

Harshly evaluating Dudley's performance this year while he has been injured the entire time is obviously unfair when he has previously played well throughout his NBA career. He is a known commodity that we can logically only assume will return to form.

Bullock has demonstrated nothing at the NBA level. He has never earned anyone's benefit of the doubt like Dudley has at the professional level. He received a decent amount of minutes in the preseason where he missed a bunch of shots and looked anything but game ready. He has shot the ball much worse than Mullens. I don't want Mullens jacking up shots and I don't want a rookie out there throwing bricks either. The 3pt line in the NBA is further out than the collegiate one. Not every player makes the transition to the pros regardless of how great people thought they were in college. I'm not at all saying he can't shoot, but he sure hasn't shot even decently for the last month.

^^^ bullock has played 13 total minutes and attempted 6 shots. If you are going to rip on him based on that sample size saying he can't handle the NBA and isn't ready then you are the one who has lost credibility. The hypocrisy is hilarious

This just isn't accurate many 1st round picks play solid minutes especially when there is a need like in our case

And just as many if probably a lot more, don't. It's all a moot point any way if Doc doesn't think he's ready.

Maybe IF both SF's go down, he'll be forced to do so, but I hope that scenario doesn't rear it's ugly head.

I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE PRESEASON AS WELL!!!! READ IT AGAIN. He has not been impressive and he often looks like a chicken with it's head cut off out there lol. Really. You notice how many other posters here readily acknowledge the steep learning curve a rookie faces? Doc knows. That's why Reggie is a last resort. A nuclear option if you will lol. He ain't ready yet bro.

I read it and preseason is nothing like the nba season. He had just come off an injury and didn't get that many minutes in preseason. I know exactly what you were saying and would say that you are very misguided and he doesn't have enough minutes or shot attempts to prove anything you are saying. Flat out you look like a blinded hater it's pretty comical actually.

He could or could not. I hope he doesn't just avoid playing someone because they are a rookie. We need the best possible player.

Oh and btw genius why don't you pull up his preseason minutes lol. He barely played in 2 games. You are right you have a massive sample size

How many 20ish picks play solid minutes on a contender? Very very few. On a lottery team sure, on a playoff team maybe. Its rare unless you are already nba ready. Very few rooks come into the league nba ready. He has to slowly earn his minutes like most rooks.

You're going against the grain by preaching for us to play our 26th pick just because you think he's good enough. What have you personally seen to convince you that he's ready? What's your sample size? North Carolina? Non-lottery picks ride the pine as rooks unless they absolutely kill it in practice and preseason games. Reggie has killed nothing. Now watch your indignant mouth.

Dudley and Bullock both haven't looked good so far. They're both coming off injury, as is Barnes. It hasn't been long enough to comment on either guy for the future, but for the teams sake, I hope one or both of them can come in and defend at a high level at some point in the near future.

Wow, the guy makes less than Kyle Korver and your complaining. At 4 million he is worth his value. His defense is solid, 95 percent of people get owned by James. He is a legit floor spacer and a very valuable role player.

He should come off the bench. Barnes should start

Doc Rivers and I respectfully disagree.

No we should keep Matt barnes in the bench. He was basically a glue guy for our bench. with the lack of defense in the 2nd unit, Matt Barnes somehow made it work.

I agree, we need Matt on the bench. If Barnes is playing better he can get more minutes than Dudley. Isn't more about who finishes than who starts anyhow.

I don't see him being a deficiency. He's solid. He's not too good, but he's not doing anything bad. He makes the right decisions in spite of trying to getting individual stats. He's shooting 41% from 3, playing solid defense and I think it's what we need from him, what else do you want from him?

ALso to add, he ALWAYS makes the right plays from what I saw, whether to drive, pass or shoot he's always making the right decision. I appreciate that

Play solid defense and rebound he has been doing a bad job in both of those. He often cheats to go for a strip and leaves his guy wide open on the perimeter, that is the cardinal sin of defense.

Jared Dudley is Ryan Gomes 2.0

I personally think we should try and ship Dudley. Barnes works best off the bench and Bullock is obviously not ready to take on a big role. Dunno which SF's are a feasible options to trade for though. You guys got any ideas? Evan Turner perhaps?

He's a little bit better than Gomes hence 2.0. His number in Phoenix is similar to what Gomes had in Minnesota. Even shot 38% from 3

Now he's posting up slightly better number than Gomes first year.

When you averaged 7 points and 1 rebound you'll never look like an all star even when comparing to the 15th guy at the roster

Jared Dudley is a glue-guy!!! He was not brought in to score 25 every game or be our LeBron James or KD! He was brought in to shoot!!!! He has a great basketball IQ! Basketball....

He's hurt not injured??? What the hell are you talking about? And no, everyone doesn't play professional basketball when they only have 70% range of motion and it hurts to run. Stop the ignorant hating. Are you trolling? Seriously.

Nothing false about 7 points and 1 assist. Which is Gomes 2.0. But maybe u can inflate it by 2 points by giving me his Per 36 lol
