Trust me the officiating was in our favor.

They caught up due to hack a DJ and careless mistakes by our team.

^ At the end, maybe. But our guys were taking it to the rim at the end of the 2nd Q and getting bumped, shoved and swiped with no calls. Refs just wanted to keep it interesting.

Such a strange game. We shoot 55%, which is great. They shoot 41.7%, which shows pretty good defense on our part. While they only out rebounded us by 2, we should have had more defensive rebounds. Not sure I can blame Blake or DJ. While those guys were out there we did a good job with rebounds closer to the basket. But MIN shoots a lot of jumpers which sometimes leads to awkward long rebounds so we need our SF's (kudos to Matt Barnes for 8 rebounds) and guards to get grab a few of those.

The other thing that kept them in the game was they hit 11 three pointers. Including some timely ones by Martin. Not sure what to say about that. I didn't think we defended the 3 that poorly and Love was finally missing some in the second half. I hate when teams beat us with 3 pointers.

It was also close because our starting back court was uncharacteristically less-than-sharp. Also Paul had some really terrible turnovers.

Also the hack a DJ scenario clearly disrupted our rhythm. Doc is beginning to see the problem with having a center who CAN'T HIT ONE DAMN FREE THROW! Which takes him out of the game until the final 2 minutes.

Our bench did well, hopefully this will be a sign of things to come.

I don't know. This game bothers me. I'm happy we won, but I feel like we really should have creamed these guys. Especially since they were coming off a back to back (albeit they didn't have to travel between back to backs).

Much as I still take BG over any PF in the league, K Love is a beast. The T Wolves may have figured out a way let Love do his thing with a minimal amount of defensive output on his part and still win games.

And it's hard not to like Love's personality:

I had a feeling that Love and Martin were going to open. The key was to keep them away from the 3 point line and we did a pretty poor job of that. We also let Pek destroy us in the paint.

Overall, it was our B game at best. The Wolves were coming off a b2b against us at home we should have won by 10 if not for mediocre play and dumb mistakes.

Oh well a win is a win.

OKC only has one loss. We MUST do something about that.

If I recall correctly, this is the first time we've played them since Ibaka karate chopped Blake's junk.

We should match up well with this team. BG has had success against this team historically. DJ shouldn't have much problem with Perkins. Westbrook is back and looks good physically, yet rusty game-wise. If Paul has a great game, he should be able to more than neutralize Westbrook. Redick should have an easier time against Sefolosha than Kevin Martin. Hopefully JJ bounces back from a bad game. Obviously Durant will be a load and get his points, but we should have a couple of guys we can throw at him and not make it too easy for him to score.

I'm not sure why people are saying the game was totally in our favor. We only shot 10 more FT's than them which is nothing considering their PF lives beyond the arc and that they hacked DJ and Hollins on purpose. Was it the monster steal from Chris Paul on Brewer? From the refs angle it was absolutely clean. Surely it wasn't because the refs were calling fouls on Rubio every time he reached in on Chris, because those are fouls even if you're from Spain.

I don't get it. Someone please enlighten me.

The refs were in our favor. I was stunned they didn't call a foul on CP3's steal, considering Joey Crawford was on the floor. That's probably a foul against OKC or the Spurs.

But to nearly allow an 11 point 4th quarter lead to vanish like that is very worrisome. Last night showed that no matter how much DJ has improved, he's still a liability because of his FT's.

Your blaming everything on the wrong people, If CP3 and Darren Collison Stop Turning the Ball over, Gambling for steals, and actually keep a man in front of them, things would be allot better. Tonight I think DC was coo, but CP3 had 6 turnovers and 2 of those in the last few minutes, Plus he let pretty Ricky get drive the lane most of the night. Plus I'd rather have Mully mess up the first 3 months then get it together than sign someone with D who's a non threat on the offensive end, witch will hurt us in the end,

It feels like we have had one of the toughest schedules so far.

I mean Houston twice, MIA, Minnesota. Now OKC.

Yeah if we can escape this period of our schedule with a winning record I'll be happy, considering we're still pretty much trying to get it together.

Wish him good times...but stay in Milwaukee with his 8 mil and that .368 FG% and 10 PER.

What is that PER for Dudley again?

Yes, while Dudley's PER is a measly 7.8, his FG% is .480 while shooting .417% from the 3PT area.....oh and he's being paid 4.25 mil.

There are a lot of players who are paid under $4mm with a per 8 or above

That's true, but the reference was between Butler and Dudley in case you weren't aware. Razz

Repped High Quality Post

Just helping bring some facts to the table. Sometimes people loving look at only one comparison and do a red herring argument. When you look at the per the shooting #s are a red herring especially when you try to talk about what a great deal Dudley is.

In a note of interest, somewhat related, I watched the Lakers game last night, and low n'behold, lou amoudson was JUST SIGNED TO THE PELICANS! In fact, it was so quick, that he didn't even have his name on his jersey! Lol! And to top it it off, he played decent D, AND scored like 4 or 5 points in limited minutes. Does anyone else think we made a mistake letting him go?

I was quite puzzled by that move as well. since they dropped him I thought we had it in the works to pick someone else up...but nothings happened

Your mind set is he's not a good deal, mine's the opposite, particularity when he recovers from his knee injury. We'll see who's who at season's end.

Interestingly, I was at autograph alley for season ticket holders on Monday. Jared came out to sign autographs. The first thing I asked him was "how is your knee?" Jared responded right away "It's fine." So one of two things is going on here: either he is lying about his injury and he's playing through pain, or his current performance is stemming from another factor (hasn't found his role yet, doesn't get enough touches..etc).

He is probably just trying to downplay his injury. Unless of course all the reports about him being injured are bs which wouldn't make any sense.

I'm glad you brought this up elton_sucks42. When my wife and I bought season tickets we immediately were surprised because the first few that we looked at were hard matchups. I started prying around and various sources all agree that we rank in the top 5 in regards to strength of schedule. For your viewing:

A couple of things here don't make sense with his injury. Personally I wouldn't even allow him on the court until he is 100%. Barnes getting the lions share and Willie and Bullock getting the scraps would work out fine until Dudley comes back. But why let Dudley play so much if its an injury?

All that means is we will have an easier schedule later on. Last season it was the other way around and look how that turned out.

I actually prefer it this way.

The benefit of a hard schedule is that come playoff time we can adjust to the demands of the playoffs better. The downside is that it affects our seeding. You can look at a hard schedule as half empty or half full

Dudley played so much since Barnes was out. Notice he only played 18 minutes in the Wolves game.

Dudley doesn't look good out there for the moment. I just think with him being as innefective as he is lately what's the harm in giving Green, Barnes, or others more time. At least until that knee is fine. I would love to pick Doc's brain on this one.

I checked our April Schedule. We face some bad teams but also teams like the OKC Thunder, Mavs, and Portland. Towards the end of March we also face Houston and the Wolves at home. So yea we definitely aren't going to have that problem of not facing playoff caliber teams. Wink

We did play Green as SF and it didn't look pretty. Its a huge mismatch on the defensive end. I expect Dudley to play well once his injury heals. For now Barnes should get more minutes for sure.

I was a big UCLA fan when he, Collison, and Westbrook all played together. We all knew Love was one of the best PF's in college, but man this guy just grew exponentially in the NBA. I had no idea this guy could be that good. Even his conditioning is completely different. Youtube footage of him at UCLA and you can tell the guy has just molded himself into a completely different player.

I think he was interviewed once on that jump from college to the NBA, and he spoke about the academic requirements at UCLA. He said the biggest difference now is that his time isn't split between sports and anything else. It let's you know how demanding a student athletes life is

The one thing we can agree on, I would love to hear what his thinking is.

As far as starters for whatever reason Barnes seems to play better off the bench
