His shot chart so far this season. He's not doing too bad from the long 2 area (14/35 40%):

Good article, really like his comments on defense. Can't wait for the finished product.

Read the Article this mourning, Really good read. I would have liked it to go more in-dept though.

I don't think people give him enough props on his perimeter defense and one on one post defense, a underrated part of his game and one nobody wants to acknowledge.

Sure was. In fact, he was getting bashed DURING a game in which BG was kicking butt at the time!

This whole griffin bashing has to stop. The guy is balling right now, draining jumpers and giving an effort on d. It seems to me a lot of this hate is based on jealousy. He could average a triple double and he will still have haters

Blake has been our most consistent player so far this year. Paul has put up crazy numbers, but he's also lost us a game or two by himself. Most notably against Miami even though I guess you could say it was Miami's defense.

Once Blake masters the formula of balancing offense and defense and hits 70+% from the line, look out CP

Honestly, Blake was our most consistent last year too, other than a bad game here or there (which all players go through). He even stepped up when Paul was injured. There were stretches where Paul wasn't the same guy. The shot wasn't going in. The passes wouldn't look crisp, some passes would look downright horrible. But when Paul did turn it on, which was more often than not, he was the best player on the court.

Right now, Blake is looking even sharper. Which is great.

Unfortunately, it doesn't keep Kenny Smith and the TNT guys from pointing out one bad play from Blake against the Golden State Warriors, completely disregarding all the great plays from Blake in that game. BG had a great game and was easily one of the reasons they won. It's ironic that TNT would extol the virtues of GS at half time of last night's game against OKC.

Worse than that, Stephen A Smith decided an intriguing story was more important than considering the ramifications for hanging the "soft" label on a 24 year old basketball player. All of a sudden that was the topic of conversation in the off season. That's all Stephen A talks about now when he talks about the Clippers. A proud papa almost bragging about his juicy story. This Matt Barnes tweet has only incited more talk about it. Last night I heard Ben Lyons say that BG's always had other guys like Matt, DJ, K Mart and Reggie Evans fight his battles. This is simply untrue. It was talked about that a couple of those guys would have Blake's back, but it never really happened. This is totally made up bullsh!t that will now be seen as reality...all because Stephen A Smith interviewed a couple of Blake's enemies and former Clippers with chips on their shoulders.

If Blake continues to play great despite all this talk, that says more about his toughness in my eyes.

What do you think is stopping Blake from being a dominant defensive force? He has all the tools: athleticism, great footwork, strong body etc. it's the only thing missing from Blake's game. With his new found shooting touch, it nullifies some of his weakness on the post.

Btw- barkley needs to stop grouping blake with Dwight. Dwight is mechanical and doesn't read the defense whereas Blake is good a reading the defense but gets pushed out from his position. Blake post up game is 100 times better that Dwight

Only problem with blake is his wingspan

Ironically, if BG had a couple more years without CP3, we would have seen a much more aggressive guy. I think he would have played with abandon because there wouldn't be a lot of pressure to "win now". We no doubt would have lost more games, but Blake would have been more selfish. I honestly believe that.

That's not to say the team would have been better off that way, it's just different circumstances now.

And yeah, Barkley couldn't resist. Blake didn't even play last night, but the moment they started talking about DH's limited game, I just KNEW Barkley would throw Blake's name out there also. For some reason, Blake is always on Sir Charles' mind.

All I know is, maybe if Charles spent 1/4 the time in the gym as Blake Griffin, he'd have atleast one championship ring to his name.

If not paying massive gambling debts and getting arrested for DUI's are what it takes to be tough, then Charles is one tough son'bitch. Spending the bulk of your time working on your game and eating healthy is for soft b*tches, obviously.

No offense, but the most overstated and useless observation against Blake.

A) His arms are normal for his body type. We're just used to unusually long arms in the NBA. Kevin Willis had really short arms for his body. And pretty much ever white front court player is at about average.

B) A few more inches make no difference (there's a joke there somewhere), especially for guys who can jump out of the gym. Kevin Willis was a great rebounder, good shot blocker, and could score inside.

C) It's not like Blake can make his arms longer!

Its not a problem i guess but it definitely would help a great deal for him

I always liked Mike Breen. I used to hear him do Knicks games on the radio and he always seems enthusiastic when calling Clippers games for ESPN! I love his defense of BG during this interview: You know, it drives me crazy. They guy, he puts up incredible numbers. He's helped the team win a lot of games, more than the franchise has ever won. Does he have some flaws in his game? Absolutely, but it's not like he's not working at it. He's got a great work ethic. There have been very few, if any perfect players, and I think....
