I haven't completely given up on Mullens but so far he has been disappointing. The problems with signing Wilcox or Odom is that Wilcox has problems staying healthy and we don't know what we will get from Odom.We really do need another big, preferably one who can defend, rebound, and hit free throws.

I would take a chance on Tyrus Thomas. He can shoot from 3,rebound,and is a solid defender and shot blocker.Maybe Doc and CP3 can help with his maturity but that isn't guaranteed either.I think the best scenario would be to invite Odom,Wilcox, and Thomas to the training facility and let them fight it out for the roster spot.

^All three of those guys are way better than Mullens. Can't believe Doc wanted to sign him. His only poor decision of the off season.

Wilcox is better than Mullens AND Hollins. Production wise he's basically a less turnover prone and less foul prone Hollins. Honestly it would have made more sense to sign him over Hollins also, since he played on Docs teams before.

Where's Bryan Colangelo when you need him?

I would prefer to get rid of one or both and replace them with Wilcox and drug free Odom like some of you have implied. I think that's a much more serviceable front-court rotation. Doc was a little cocky in his ability to improve those two guys, lol

This is true, but were talking about beggars being choosers here. He's certainly better than Mullens and Hollins and is much less foul prone.

It's basically getting an improved version of Hollins in every fashion to get Wilcox. Take Hollins, remove all the illegal screens, unnecessary fouls and odd turnovers, add better finishing ability when not dunking, decrease the wild energy a little. Add similar rotating and defense and you have the Celtics version of Wilcox.

This is turning into a disaster. Honestly when you have to get excited about picking up an injury prone (decent at best) back, and an out of shape accused drug addict you are in trouble.

People are hyping up odom and I don't know why. Yes he played good defense last year at times, but he was so out of shape and embarrassing much of the time.

I almost feel like it might just be time to start thinking D league pick up or Euro player maybe...

I would definitely disagree with that.

I'd say Bledsoe, Cp3, and barnes were our best defenders last season.

Odom was solid on defense, but def not good enough where he can go on drugs, miss an entire off season, then come in the middle of the season and be that effective. I would have to believe that to see it.

A healthy Wilcox is def better than Hollins and Mullens put together. but key word is healthy.

Every defensive metric disagrees with you. Much much better than solid though he was putrid offensively. Not playing Mullens is addition by subtraction.

In order of preference:

Odom>Wilcox>Hollins>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mullens.

Seriously!???? Wilcox!? Do you guys have to scrap down the barrel to believe that he's better than Hollins and Mullens? Granted, Hollins and Mullens may have sucks, but they are not that bad. Especially Hollins. Wilcox is another story. He basically suck the whole time in the league and he can't defend anybody. I'll get Odom first, but Wilcox should not be our saving grace.

Ekafor? Worth the gamble? He's the only true upgrade. LO's problems however have stemmed from personal issues (I think). Also he may have been using last year. I would have to be coke because he couldn't play at all on crack. IF he gets it together he will be a big plus that is IF personal issues otherwise I hope he likes dim sum

Ugh, that TMZ video of Lamar rapping --- it looks like he's rapping with his long-time best buddy, Jaime, a known druggie. If this was recent, Lamar is delusional if he thinks he can beat this devil on his own without a full-blown stint in rehab. I wonder who really released it. Kardashian Kurse, perhaps? It seems someone wants to undermine his NBA comeback. Clippers have to do their due diligence before offering Lamar a contract.

At this point, Chris Wilcox may be the better choice to avoid all the Lamar drama.

Wow thanks for posting that video. He looks great in there and seems like he could be a great fit. I like that he get low on the block too and is a decent rebounder for the minutes he played.

This video also reminds me what a great passer Rondo is and how people who criticize him so much on his passing abilities probably don't watch him play that often.

I don't know much about him but the Kings want to trade vets for draft picks (so I read) and Patrick Patterson just got sent to their bench... Could we get him after Dec 15 for like, Mullens, Bled trade exception & a future pick? Maybe not because the trade exception rules confuse me.

Advantages over Hollins:

A lot less foul prone. Better defender(since he doesn't foul once every few minutes). Has a better offensive game. Better rebounder.

Cons:

More injury prone.

I was thinking it would be nice "until" I saw the youtube video... All I gathered from him is he can run the floor well. Sure he can grab some lobs and dunk the ball.. But so can hollins. Wilcox did not look as explosive as I thought he would. He's aged... no thanks.

Hollins is not as good of a finisher and has really bad hands when not thrown a lob. As stated above he is also a better defender and rebounder. He would be a nice signing for the minimum compared to Hollins.

We should probably just cut Hollins and replace him with Wilcox. Also if we aren't going to play Jamison, why have him on the team?

Just figured out why Mullens has the label "stretch big" in this league... because the idea of him being a legitimate NBA big is a f*cking stretch.

He isn't much different at all in terms of what he does, just does it better. He's basically the richer man's version of Hollins. Does all the same things excepts rebounds better, fouls less, turns it over less and finishes better when he isn't dunking the ball.
