Phew. What a relief. This could've been an easy win for the Clippers, but they chose the hard way. Oh well. We'll take the W.

That Cousins is a pure hot head. So glad Clippers won to make him mad. Lol

Kings had more Rebounds Better Free throw % Assists 20! more shots attempted Steals Offensive rebounds More field goals made

and less TO's. How did the Clips pulled it out??

Also the Kings won 3 of the 4 quarters...3 of the 4 by a combined 15 points!!

Kinda like we couldn't beat OKC with just Blake playing well, we almost didn't win with Blake playing crappy. DJ picked up Blake's slack overall. JJ wasn't on fire, but didn't see many touches in the 4th. At times our D was great. Other times, not so much...as usual. It was bound to happen Blake would have a bad game. He's been too good for too long. The Basketball Gods wouldn't allow it. I certainly wouldn't be to cocky about the Bulls coming in, even without Rose.

Win but man the offense is getting worse and defense is pretty bad and doing the same.

The starters are even slumping on defense.

I swear we are terrible fans!!! We get the win and all you guys have to say is WoW Chris you missed free throws! If it wasn't for Chris we wouldn't be in this game, we probably wouldn't have Doc Rivers either, and the franchise wouldn't be the way it is now! THAT IS RIDICULOUS HOW CRITICAL SOME OF YOU ARE WHO PROBABLY HAVE NEVER DRIBBLED A BASKETBALL!!! STOP being so critical!!!! Chris delivered in the clutch like he is supposed to! LeBron missed free-throws, Kobe missed free-throws!! Chris has came in clutch against the Wolves and now! BEING THE CLUTCH CP3 WE KNOW

This is why they get scrutinized a lot, not being able to win convincingly against mediocre teams.

With the way Rose has been playing lately I am not sure he would have made a difference.

That being said we would have won handily even with Blake played poorly if our defense didn't completely collapse in the 2nd quarter and if we didn't give the Kings so many 2nd chance points. Just when I thought we were going to have a good game defensively we got torched in the 2nd quarter.

Maybe I should hope that the opposing team scores 150 on us next time?

Right now there is a better argument that Rose was helping the opposition: 16.4 FGA / 15.9 PPG / 5.0 APG / 3.9 TPG / 35.4% FG / 34.0% 3PT / .446 TS% / 89 Ortg / 10.6 PER

The man was REALLY bad on offense in the 10 games he played. He was truly struggling.

No one was bashing Chris Paul lol. We were just mentioning it was uncharacteristic for him to miss 3 free throws. He has only missed 2 before those 3 misses.

I guess I missed the posts you are referring to. Either way, I'll take an undeserved win any day, as long as lessons are learned from it.

...but CP did miss two key FT's, it is uncharacteristic of him. Doesn't mean he isn't a great late game basketball player or that he didn't hit the other shots that he hit, but it is still the reality that he missed two key FT's. I don't see any issue in acknowledging that.

We can't seem to blow anyone out lately. Maybe these are growing pains to make us tougher in the long run? Meh.

I'll say this about Blake, he started out playing really good defense when we took the early lead. Seemed to deflate and play sloppy the rest of the first half. Couldn't buy a basket. Committed fouls (well, except that one). Again, missed baskets happen, but the sloppy play and terrible body language is disappointing. It does look like he fought through the doldrums better in the 2nd half. I'd be interested to know what his second half numbers looked like.

The official scorer gave Blake his 10th board for catching that last air ball shot by Cousins.

Unfortunately CP3's quest for another double-double came up short by one assist. So the NBA record streak stops at 13 games.

But the W was more important today than the records..

Last year part of the ability to get blowouts was that the bench increased leads. They gave up 97 pts/100 possessions, so when they got in there, even though their own production was not as good as the starters, when the other benches can only put up 97 pts/100, you put up on average like 103 pts/100, which is below average and you are still on average +6

The reason we can't blow anyone out is because our defense has been putrid. Its tough to blow teams out when you give them easy layups and dunks every game.

That's not to CP's defense really, cause he's the good FT shooter. It is more highlighting the fact that DJ was 5/14 and had 9 of those 19 misses lol

..but again, I'm not saying we should beat him up about it, but what's the issue in just mentioning the reality that he did something uncharacteristic of him? No issue.

Good news: They shot 42%, only 29% from 3.

We actually shot 48% and 44% from 3.

Yes we did have a lot of turnovers, but 6 of those were Blake's, which lets face it, were uncharacteristic.

It is contagious. When was the last time he missed 2 FT's in a game, let alone 3. Two of his misses came late. Had the Clippers made their FT's before , he would have not missed them.

By the way not bashing. He won the game at end with a heroic effort.

People are human. I have seen Nash brick two free throws in a row. I have seen Durant brick two free throws in a row in a crucial playoff game.

It happens. NBA players are not machines that always make 9/10. Sometimes they make 20/20 and go 8/10 the next game.

Guys and gals, I think the Clippers in the first quarter showed what will be routine come mid-season and beyond. I'm optimistic their defense will improve a great deal by then. We've seen bits of it here and there. It'll all come together.

His FT% is insane, so I mean he just can't make them all. He didn't miss two in a row either, he missed them all at separate occasions. It happens, it has nothing to do with missing FT's being contagious.

I've played on teams with bad FT shooters and someone else missing has never affected my confidence at the line or made me miss. If I miss it is because I missed. Especially considering Redick was 4/5 and Crawford 3/3.

It's just that he has to miss some time unless he's super human, and one of his misses was half way down, just a little wrong spin basically.

Double checking Blake's stats. While he hardly exploded in the 2nd half, he got 10 points, 8 rebounds and steal and just one turnover. So he did pick up his game after that abysmal first half.

ugly win , but good to have some hard winning games. Nice training for the clips. However I think that was totally unnecessary after the first nice half. Maybe Collison should play more with CP3 together. I remember the pre games, that worked. Because Collison is always good for some fast points. Hollins and Mullins together -> bad idea. Where is Antawn Jamison? injury? could help here.

In this form we will lose against the bulls.
