Chris attack the rim or at least mid range off dribble.

Wide open looks, half contested looks, contested looks, under pressure looks. Just nothing from 3s.

They make them at a much higher rate than we do. Dudley is underperforming and Redick was even shooting under his average from behind the arc. Shooting a bunch of threes when you are a middling to bad three point shooting team feels like bad strategy. Paul is really struggling from there too.

That was as open as you can get, he would have gotten a more contested shot, what he should have done was make the shot, lol

of course we make one of the most contested shots but miss shots that are wide the **** open.

I've said it couple games ago something is wrong with the offense. JJ being gone is one thing but Paul and Blake we need them to take games over and dominate.

Like I said, Cleveland is just like the ATL no matter how good or bad the talent is. Good night, folks...

I'm telling you, we need Varejao. We could use his rebounding and energy. He's been injured sure but still we could really use him.

I know we have tons of injuries, but that was pathetic. We need less three's and more pick-and-roll. Let Chris and Blake work together like last year.

Tough loss, to say the least.

Does anyone else think part of the reason CP3's shot is gone is because he's stopped taking them so often? Has he focused on distributing the ball first so often that he's lost some of his shot? Might be a stupid theory, but at this point, I can't figure out why he can't shoot.

Like I said it depends if they are open or not. If they are open you have to take them otherwise the other team will simply pack the paint.

Still taking 35 3s is a crap load. Did the Cavs dare us to shoot 3s all game? Otherwise thats way way too much.

Our defense gets better... Our offense is nowhere to be found... Frustrating.

Don't care how many rebounds you get or don't get, if you shoot 32.2% and 20% from 3PT land you aren't winning many games.

Dudley's percentage hasn't even be bad, well, last time I checked. The guy is about 5-6% under his normal and is still above league average.

Paul, Bullock, Green and Mullens are the ones tanking the team 3PT%. Everyone else is at 35.7% or greater, but no one on the team is shooting like a great 3PT shooter.

Of course the secondary issue is that the team doesn't have anyone that's a strict slasher, so shooting long mid-range jumpers where league average is like 38-40% range would certainly be much worse than shooting 34.6% from 3PT range which is .519 eFG%.

This was a terrible offensive game though, just bad, but it's better to judge on the quality of shots than whether they go in or not. Cause missing happens, but you can't miss forever, so if you can create quality shots, then at least you know that those will fall at other points in time.

Why did Doc not put in Hollins at the very least when we needed length and got a rebound.

10 points for Griffin on 3-12 shooting.

13 points for CP on 4-16 shooting.

Shoot 32% from the field.

Shoot 20% (7-35!) from 3s.

Miss 7 free throws.

Got 45 boards and got out rebounded by 15!

Add insult to injury, Bullock got injured and will miss some games. DJ got injured and we do not know how long or bad it is.

Yup, this was a grind it out, ugly game, both teams shot terribly, but the game was lost on missing everything despite what might or might not have happened at the end.

Considering how poorly the Cavs shot, no magically great offense was needed tonight to actually win the game

No team should ever attempt 35 freaking 3pt attempts. Even the late game ones were unnecessary when we could of attacked.

One the ugliest games I've seen in recent years- WOW. So many chances, but just can't make a darn basket. Can't drive, lanes clogged, and can't make an open shot. The defensive effort was there, but certainly too many offensive rebounds given up. Anderson Varejao- 17 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench? That's crazy. The Clipper bench certainly didn't have it tonight.

I'll take a loss, but DJ and Bullock getting injured in addition to the other injuries is not cool

The rebounding looked worse than it actually was because the Clippers missed 59 FGA and 7 FTA, so there were a LOT of defensive rebounds to be grabbed by Cleveland. Still, they were +6 on the offensive glass.

Add Jacks' 9 rebounds. Just one less then the Clippers entire bench.

The Cavs packed the pain and took away the inside. 3's had to be made, and there were a good amount of open ones missed. Jamison was 0/5 from 3PT tonight himself I believe.

It was pretty bad

No problem. Even now looking around the box score i can find something that went wrong. Willie 2-8 from 3s.

In hindsight... Knowing that the Bucks wanted Caron Butler... Couldn't we have traded Caron & a 2nd rounder for JJ, then trading something like DJ & Bled for Dud, Robin Lopez & Channing Frye... Just a thought. Watching Robin Lopez on NBAtv right now, he's solid for half DJ's salary.

Well all my fears came true. We completely played down to the Cavs, played low energy and worst of all shot 35 three pointers and only made 7? That's just pathetic.

We need a lot more cohesiveness in the offense not just depending on long and mid range jump shots. Our defense wasn't great or horrible just mediocre. Yes we only allowed 88 points but the cavaliers didn't make a lot of shots just like in Memphis last night, difference was we made our shots last night.

So do people still think it doesn't matter to have wings that can rebound?

Man, Blake really laid an egg tonight. I'm one of his biggest fans, but PEEE-EEEW! I mean, Dudley missed more wide open shots we needed. Jamal started off cold. Paul's shot wasn't going in. But we've come to expect that on the road. And we've come to expect Blake maybe having a bad half, but picking up his game in the second. But aside from the first quarter, where I thought he looked sharp, he looked like hell. Does he have the flu or something?

I don't care what the Cleveland announcers were saying, I'm glad Blake took umbrage with Varejao. Sure most of that was frustration with his terrible play. But looks like he's had enough of the cheap shots. Kudos to the officials for not ejecting Blake!

I'm gonna put this loss on Blake. No biggie. We'll win the next one and I'm sure BG will bounce back. Happens to all players.

Hindsight is 20/20, but yea, in hindsight that was possible, but Lopez comes with his own issues.

For example, Doc can't run his same defense on pick and roll with Lopez because Lopez isn't mobile. He would have to run Indiana's style of defense with the soft ICE (Portland runs it too), where the big man doesn't hedge.

Lopez is a poor defensive rebounder also, but he's great on the offensive glass. We would have a new set of complaints, lol.

The teams defensive potential goes down with Lopez as the starting C vs DJ. Portland has been great on offense, but also mediocre on defense (19th in Drtg, 105.9). They have two wings who are supposed to be good defensively and Batum with great length, LaMarcus has all the tools to even be a defensive anchor himself, like a 7'5 wingspan, mobility, strength, so technically with a good defensive C, even if Lillard was bad, they should be a good defense. Can't say conclusively so far, but they have been average, which is okay, maybe it is their bench that is bad on defense.

Quote:
I'm gonna put this loss on Blake
There were way too many people playing terrible for this loss to be put on Blake or any one player. The only thing one could find from this game is a player to not take blame, but everyone else outside of that guy(s) was awful.

I kinda wish the Varejao thing happened earlier in the game. Maybe that would have awaken our team.

I have to say, I think the refs are very aware of the "soft" talk regarding Blake. Or else they would have ejected him for sure. I appreciate that they didn't.

we shot like 32 % from the field and 18 or so from deep? and still lost by 6? is that how bad the cavs are? or are we just that good that when we play like crap we're still in it? maybe a little bit of both.

Wasn't exactly thrilled to see Bynum have a great game. I was getting flashbacks of when he'd dominate our team as a Laker 2 years ago.

Something ugly is going on behind closed doors with this team. You can see it in their body language. Its awkward like theres always the elephant in the room.
