I was saying that earlier. Maybe blake and Chris really cannot coexist? This team does not play like they like each other.

Doc really needs to identify whatever it is that is affecting this team and take care of it.

we need a player that can hype up the team when they're down

just how ronny and odom did last year. and how martin and reggie did the year before.

When Bynum is healthy and doesn't have his thumb up his sphincter he may be the best center in the league. We need a slasher like Magettee was. When our jumpers aren't falling we take it it the shorts. With JJ and Paul theoretically we shouldn't need more shooters. I wish we had another roster spot and we could coax him out of retirement but he gets busted up so often

Our bench offense is Jamal's bail outs.

when Jamal is with the starters that is with the offense. I'm waiting for Paul and or Griffin to give this team a huge scoring game because its needed. Crawford seems like the number one option for this team throughout games and its unacceptable. Blake had a terrible game in the post but don't forget about him just face up and attack. Paul is chucking 3's and the shots are not falling at a high enough rate. Get Paul coming off the ball screens and getting quick looks.

The offense has been down pouring for quite some time and the bench picked up the slack. If Collison, Crawford, ,Bullock and Jamison have bad shooting games we look like last night.

Doc got really fed up with Blake in the third and benched him for Jamison. In the 4th he came in for a small stint with bench and never got the ball and benched again. Doc threw the team under the bus for pouting but I wish someone would of called him out on 35 3pt attempts. That is a pour half ass lack of composure and he should of benched anyone shooting a 3 and made it mandatory to attack the rim or at least a jumper when open around the paint. Having Blake run up and down and we get no looks going at the basket is weak.

Same old habits of playing down to the competition. I guess Vinny was limited in his X's and O's but he had the team winning at a better clip.

Maybe we trade Blake for Melo....lol.

I'm sure Mr CP3 would love for that to happen and they can play buddy-ball for 48 minuites. Not sure Blake/Paul can coexist but that is a topic for a different conversation.

Not sure what the issue is, but you're spot on about their body language. I have never seen CP3 or Blake look as thoroughly defeated during a winnable game as they did last night.

Vinny needs to make adjustments defensively

Wait... What???... Doc Rivers is the coach??

This team is still looking like a 1st rd bounce

That's twice in a row you've mentioned that. We get it. Blake has a bad game and you want to trade him. Quite the Clipper fan, I see.

This game was just bad. I really feel the coaching staff is not making adjustments to personnel. We have key players hobbled our out. We can't play the same way with different people. Blake needs to snap put of it, but something deeper might be going on that is on doc to address. Chris Paul needs to do whatever it takes to get his shot back.

Its just an opinion. Everyone has them. I just don't see Blake developing in the pace he should be. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors. All we have is what see out on the court. I get frustrated with the lack of self motivtation this team has. Now you've got Paul saying they have to police themselves? Now with Doc on the sidelines, the expectation level has been raised and they have to act like it. $hit or get off the pot.

I was as hard as anyone on Blake in this game. I put the loss on him even though others didn't play well also. But c'mon, you really gonna forget all this guy has done and will do for the team?

Then why does Paul always put the blame on himself? Something is wrong with this Blave/Paul combo. Who is being honest here? So does this mean Paul is not being upfront and not holding his teamates accountable as the leader of this club? Just frustrated man. This is the season we take names and kick ass but I just can't get past our current predicament. Impatient? Absolutely.

I'm gonna be realistic and say we were never gonna kick ass and take names this season because that doesn't typically happen with a brand new coach and system, not to mention new players. I know a lot of us thought we win a championship right away the very second we acquired Doc Rivers. But fact is, it's gonna take time for our players to adjust to him. For him to adjust to our players and for our players to adjust to themselves. Next year we kick ass, no doubt. This year is an adjustment year where we learn how to develop a solid foundation. We become a better all around team than we were last year offensively and defensively (which relied a lot on forcing turnovers and transition baskets), while still achieving a winning record. If we're successful, we'll get it all together come playoff time. Then, who knows what will happen.

Exactly. I think clippers fans started to buy into the hype of the media.

The reality is if we still had VDN we would come out blazing, because the players are use to playing in that system. Then we would get creamed in the playoffs again.

Now that Doc has come in, it's going to take time to adjust and learn the system. But I think we will have a solid team by playoffs.

Lebron and co, did not win a championship in his first year in Miami, in fact, I read a lot of fire Spo in the first few months. As far as I remember they lost 9 in a row.

I don't think LeBron and co, would play as bad as we're playing right now. Griffin is being a pussycat, he's not posting and firing away from long. Jumpshot is WEAK. He's supposed to be posting and he's doing a wing job. Not to mention our bench is crap...

Yea it was worse than that. They were talking about Pat Riley having to come down from the office and coach.

But I remember Spo saying look, "We have a different timetable than everyone else". And now they are 2 time champions.

I thinks its a case of Fans generally don't know anything about basketball but "win now". And don't understand putting a system together takes time. And that is in any sport.

And CP3 has been playing like a numbskull for some time now. Over the last 5-8 games, BG has been outplaying him and dare I say, just as good of a passer.

yeah, I just wonder if this more passive version of Paul is going to be what we have for the remainder of his five years. part of Pauls reputation was also based on him being a very aggressive scorer. You couldn't predict if he would score or pass for an assist. it was essentially pick your poison. But now I kind of fear as if he doesn't want to shoot anymore. I think he may be content on just being a passer.

^I don't get it at all. He came out lightning hot to start the season and has been cold ever since. Except the odd time down the stretch were he shows some of that scoring flash.

It looks like a confidence thing rather than a choice of being a passer over a scorer. We are much better when he does both well.

I didn't see Paul fearing to shoot last game, I just saw him bricking a whole lot of shots. Similarly vs Atlanta, he started off aggressive early, then he was distributing more later. That usually sets a good tone for how the defense defends you and opens things up for teammates, that is fine.

His point total isn't indicative of how he was approaching the game last night or any night, and last night he just missed everything.

I don't understand this shot attempts worry, I don't know if people are just looking at the box score, or never watched Paul before LAC or what. Paul's career high is 16.1 FGA and 6.7 FTA in 38.5 minutes. He's taking 13.8 FGA and 5.8 FTA this year in only 34.8 minutes. In 34.8 minutes he would have been taking 14.5 FGA and 6.1 FTA in 08/09. (0.7 less FGA and 0.3 less FTA). So it's a 0.8 FGA difference.

He's never been a high volume shooter, just a high efficiency scorer. So this idea that his attempts are different from what he's done in his career is kinda of weird.

It isn't about his shot attempts, it is about approach. Playing aggressive doesn't mean taking a ton of shots. Also he was actually good last night. He was getting into the teeth of the defense, he was drawing defenders, he was creating, but if you're cold, you're cold. 4/16 FG has nothing to do with whether or not you are looking for your shot and all to do with bricking a lot.

Over the last 4 games he's averaging 14.8 FGA / 4.8 FTA in 34.2 MPG, that's excellent, the problem is that he's shooting 39% FG and 21.4% 3PT. On his regular efficiency, he averages 20 PPG with that many shots, instead he's averaging 16!

He doesn't need to shoot more, he needs to make more shots!

yeah, the games against Golden State and Houston (first matchup) were amazing. His scoring and passing were superb that night, and it definitely blew the game wide open for us. He was attacking early and from a defensive standpoint I could imagine he must have been impossible to stop. Those two games are the best Chris Paul performances this year. Hopefully we see more of that, especially with Redick out.

That sums it up pretty much.

Looks like Chris Paul, Willie Green & Jamal Crawford went and did some extra shooting practice at Temple University yesterday. Hope the extra reps translate into improved on-court results.

Lets be realistic again, this team is not kicking ass next year or year after unless there are some personnel change, our back court is to small, starting SF is bench player at best on other teams, our front court can't score in the post to save their lives and other than JC our bench players either have low bball IQ or turnover prone and can't do nothing but shoot 3s

Our back court is not too small. CP3 needs to play a little better defensively, but we've had some success against even the bigger SG's. Our front court scores just fine, as long as they have some support from the outside. And our bench is starting to play a lot better. Are we maybe one or two more players away? Perhaps. But we will kick butt next year. We might even start doing so late this season.
