@DanWoikeSports: Doc Rivers said Clippers will have to look for help on the wing with injury to Bullock.

What are the options for a 10-Day-Contract or anyone in free-agency to sign??

Stephen Jackson is an option! So is Mickael Pietrus! One name to watch for w/ Clippers: Marquis Daniels. Spent three years playing for Rivers in Boston.

Who Do You Think The Clippers Should Go For? What Do You Think The Clippers Should Do?

Probably the best option! Him and Barnes played with each other during their tenure in GS! Lamar is going to have to come around quick as well! Deandre injured is foot so that means Ryan Hollins is likely to start if DJ isn't healthy and Doc is all about being healthy! Somebody will have to go Maalik Wayns or Byron Mullens or somebody! Some moves will have to be made but in 8 days the Clippers as well as other teams can trade/move any players signed over the summer in the offseason so a lot of options will open up then

What's there to resurrect though? He's 35 now, he's shot 31.6% 3PT over the last 4 seasons, his defense is not really there anymore, his shot selection is not so impressive, and even Pop couldn't keep him in check.

Does he provide enough positive to be worth his antics? He's been a below average to bad (turnover prone, low percentage, bad shot selection) offensive player for a couple of seasons now, and his defense is not where it used to be.

I guess I don't know where the actual tangible value is. I mean he'll "ride or die", and he'll "make big shots" (though really percentage wise he isn't actually shooting any better in those moments, but who remembers misses right?) after bricking open shots all game, but outside of that...

Probably better to go with a safer player in this instance. Maybe if this was Stephen Jackson before 30 years old, then yea, it would make sense. Current version, you just can't maintain your game into the older ages if you admittedly "don't play any basketball in the off-season". Jamal Crawford for example didn't do drills, but he was playing all off-season. Stephen Jackson was smoking weed, drinking and writing rap songs, and that is why Stephen Jackson was a much less effective player as he got older.

Pietrus, Daniels (no 3PT shooting though), who else is there?

He rode the bench at SA so yeah getting a chance to prove that he still got it can count as resurgence. What do you want from a 10 day contract? You expecting a game changer?

Actually I just want someone that won't harm. Jackson is the kind of guy that is more likely to cause trouble than be net zero.

The other issue is that he's probably not in shape right now anyways. There are guys who will still be working out and stuff and ready to be called, but it's extremely hard to imagine Jackson is in shape to just plug in like that. He would probably need the whole 10 days to get in game shape, lol

Oh, and btw, Pop gave him 20 MPG for 55 games, started him 6 times, he was getting solid minutes, he was just horrible. He certainly wasn't riding the bench. Pop really tried to make it work (it was the previous season that he was riding the bench, I think you mixed those up).

Josh Howard is in the D-League....

He works for TWC as a Laker commentator.

@ArashMarkazi: A possible option for the Clippers is Shannon Brown, who played for Alvin Gentry in Phoenix.

The lack of bodies means the Clippers may be in the market for a player to sign soon.

"We would have to look somewhere," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "Let's hope not, but my guess is yes. I don't know where we're going to go. If you guys have any names, call me and let me know. I'll be on the phone tonight with Gary [Sacks] and Gerald [Madkins] and Dave Wohl [of the Clippers], and I'm praying they know somebody. We'll see. You never know."

A possible candidate currently available is former Los Angeles Lakers guard Shannon Brown, a free agent who played for Clippers associate head coach Alvin Gentry while they were with the Phoenix Suns.

2012-13 Season PPG APG RPG PER 10.5 1.8 2.5 13.14

6'4 28 years old! Young and Athletic! Could be or is a decent defender! Haven't seen much except for his offensive highlights and a couple of Phoenix games last season! Only way I would sign him is if we waived somebody or are we granted another roster spot due to the injuries? He is listed as a PG but I think could very well start over Willie Green ( 6'3 ) The chemistry shouldn't be an issue Shannon Brown played with Dudley in PHX and Lamar in LA! Then Josh Howard is an option for the Small Forward position! Shannon would come in shooting 3's but he would get to the rim which is something the Clippers are lacking because they have become so Perimeter Oriented

Shannon brown would be an awesome pick up. He brings athleticism we desperately need and can shoot the 3.

Stephen Jackson would be terrible IMO. He plays just like matt barnes, but worse at this point in his career.

I also like Pietrus. He can hit big 3's and plays great defense.

We could really use Browns athleticism. Dudley and Willie can only shoot it (or atleast they used to be able to). We need options.

I thought Luke stopped playing because he was injured, I don't think he's even thinking of playing basketball, lol

Shannon Brown seems like a decent option actually

worm wrote:

Clippers would have to trade for him and that doesn't really make sense for Houston to trade him first of all to a rival team, and to a team that doesn't have any player they need.

Also doesn't make sense for the Clippers to trade for a backup C who wants to be traded because he's coming off the bench, just to put him in a limited bench role again while paying him a lot more than a 1 position backup should get.

If he has a younger skilled brother that no one knows about though...

Is there any announcement about how long Reggie and DJ will be out? Strained arch doesn't sound that bad but Reg looked like he broke something.

I wish Barnes would just put on some goggles and suit up but if that's not possible, I like the idea of J Howard for a 10-day. He's been in the press this season, he's motivated. At least he's smart enough to play the right way.

We cannot give 10-Days until January 5 or 8th! So all this happened at a real unforeseen time! Lamar would probably be someone we would sign even though he isn't ready! The thing about 10-Days if we cannot sign them on a 10-Day can we sign them on an un-guaranteed contract? Then waive them if their services are no longer needed or keep them if they are

One of the last few all stars in the east gets traded to the west for scrubs. East is so bad, Tor could still easily make the POs. Not like Sac will make any noise, its actually slightly good for the Clips since we've already played them 3 out of 4 for the season. Maybe they can beat a few good teams along the way now. But I doubt it. Teaming up two of the worst closers in the game isn't going to make Sac a contender.

The best we can do at 3 is Dudley and Barnes? I just can't accept that I guess. Barnes is a backup, he should not be see and an answer to our small forward issue. I think small forward is at the moment the most crucial position in the league. Dudley can't or won't rebound either which is terrible for that position.

The problem is that we need a scoring threat at that spot. DJ gives no offense, cp3 doesn't always attack.

Exactly, Redick makes a Huge difference, with Redick I think we need a defensive minded 3 that can slash and rebound. I don't think we need someone who is essentially only a three point specialist at that spot.
