They called for Spo's head his first year with the heat.

Doc doesn't have to worry REAL fans who understand

basketball already knew it would be a bumpy ride the

first half the season.

I think it's more-so the fans who listen to hype and

believes there aren't growing pains with

bringing in new personnel and systems.

I don't think anyone has every said that, and if they had I've never heard it. Dudley has been good because he played smart basketball, defended and made shots. He's not making shots, he can't guard anyone consistently, and he has random moments of idiocy.

No, that's has nothing to do with if's, that's just called sucking.

Exactly my point. There's no magic to it, players still have to play, roster still has to be adequate. People don't like growing pains, too many people wanted the team to explode at a 60 win pace and destroy the league all the way to the playoffs.

Is that the 5th missed FT by Jamal? Unbelievable.

It isn't about the system, it is about having a roster full if soft players who cannot hit open shots on a consistent basis and who cannot move their feet on defense. Doc, like it or not, is the one making personnel decisions and he saddled us with a bunch of garbage we can't probably get anyone to take off our hands,. A team with a clear sense of entitlement that cannot deliver. It's unfortunate, and it is mid December now. The season is not brand new, we are over a quarter into it.

3PT shooting:

Jamison: 0-3

Jackson: 0-2

Jamal: 1-5

Green: 1-4

Dudley: 1-4

Total: 2/18

LOL

Sucks we stopped using Blake when he was getting in the lane. Feels like we pass up good shots hoping on shooters who can't shoot.

I mean are they not getting good shots or are they just all cold together right now?

Jamal is padding his stats now Smile

Last I checked, the Clippers were down by 20. I stopped watching. Can't take the letdown, lol. It's a back-to-back, but, geez, this game was brutal to watch.

Why would a team that has lost in the2nd and 1st round have a clear sense of entitlement though?

I don't know, I'm not a fan of the psychoanalyzing that is done in regards to sports, and the interpretation swings wildly based on the results.

They kind of all have been since Redick went down. Even last nights win was hard to sit through. My wife had to tell me we won I stopped watching it after the half because of the way we were playing down to the Celtics level

When do we stop saying "down to ____'s level". Clippers probably have to show themselves to be on a level of their own before they can be said to be playing down to anyone's level.

...and in the end, these are NBA players, and most mediocre teams don't just get blow-out night in and night out, they'll stay in games and usually loose in single digits towards the end.

Why all blame to Rivers for players on team? CP has called the shots on lots of these guys and brings in old guys who are his friends.

But then why do they make it worse by bringing in another old guys like S Jackson?

Looks like we pretty much gave away an all star in E Bled and we passed on an MVP candidate in P George.

What is really scary is this is the soft part of the schedule. They play like this vs western teams and they will be out of the playoffs. Seriously.

Maybe I do psychological analyze too much, but that lame "playing down to competition" excuse would suggest they have a overly inflated opinion of themselves. I hate that excuse.

Doc is the GM, you can't ever blame a player who is signed long term for anyone brought. If they are about to expire, there is some clout in "oh we are trying to keep them", but even then, good GM's don't do that.

With that out of the way, who in the world are you referring to? What players are Paul's former buddies? lol

Now, I'm not saying Blame Doc either

17 missed freethrows..... Brooklyn went 28 for 30. If we shot freethrows better we would have won. We lost by 9. We missed 17 freethrows. R u serious.

Yup, nothing the coach can do about that. I said it in the first half, most of the difference was the FT shooting, and it repeated in the second half.

I agree that the Clippers have proven nothing to really use the term "playing down _____'s level, but when you look at the records of the teams (like when we lost to ATL, ORL, and CLE), I can't blame someone for using that term either.

Seems like the team was doing better in the beginning of the season when they were playing better teams and had one of the tougher records. Teams can be weird with things like this.

Wow. This team would lost to anybody tonight. Jamal misses 5 FTs. Our shooters can't shoot as usual. I'm so sick of watching Dudley and Willie miss wide open shot after wide open shot.

Chris had 2 assists tonight. That's not because he wasn't himself. It's because our shooters can't shoot. Embarrassing.

Wiz are pretty good. We got problems.

Doc should redesign our offense around blake in the post until we get Redick back. We are not doing well from long range and adjustments have to be made at least for a while.

Yea, I get it, but bad teams beating good teams happens all the time in the NBA, Clippers did the same thing last season, but so did every other good team for the most part. We just didn't watch 80% of their games, so we didn't feel it as much.

It's all about if you do it consistently, but then if you do it consistently, you probably aren't going to be a 50+ win team either which the Clippers are still on pace to be.

Yes, the team does need a move and the "final piece", but we can't get too low or get too high in terms of the ups and downs of a season.

I agree, I know Blake doesn't have a polished post game, but at least he can learn if we feed him the ball until JJ's healthy.

If we struggled with Williams, Blatche, Johnson, and Lopez going to be a problem with Wall, Ariza, and Gortat. Got to find ways to win and beat the Spurs.

What happened to Willie? But Jamison too, and Jackson is 0-5 in his first two games, and Jamal the 10 games before last game:

37.1% FG, 21.8% 3PT. His explosive games have masked that he has been very inconsistent this season, maybe the age is finally catching up to him, though it doesn't seem that way on the court.

Time to sell "high"?

Miss Oshley as GM. He would of got Reggie Evans for a second rounder and TPE if his team was not using him. Other moves would of followed to cover up patches.

Of course the issue that arrises with GM's and coaches is that sure he could do that, but then does Reggie fit into what Doc wants to do on offense?

If Doc then doesn't play Reggie, then....

So you'd think that if Doc really wanted a guy like Reggie on his team he would try to get him. So who knows.

Don't forget injuries.

Crawford has been good this season. His percentage sometimes doesn't reflect how much he impacted a game with timely 3's and what not.

The below was from last year from Clipperblog but I presume it is still mostly true with this roster:

Of the nine players on the current roster that have signed or re-signed since the lockout, it's no secret that half were hand-selected by Paul (let's let his former teammate, Willie Green, be the fraction of a player).

His whims have netted contracts for: Caron Butler (three years and $24 million), Jamal Crawford (at least two years of the mid-level exception), Chauncey Billups ($4 million this season) and Matt Barnes ($1.2 million and a guaranteed roster spot). It can be assumed that both Lamar Odom (owed $8.2 million) and Grant Hill (two years, $4 million) would have been targets with or without Paul, although in Hill's case, his presence almost certainly played a role. (We have no indication of his feelings on the two backup centers, nor do we care. Although everyone loves Ronny Turiaf.)

Like anyone who wants to get things done, Paul has not settled for merely making his wishes known. He's been an active recruiter, which goes a long way when vets like Hill are deciding where to spend the last few years of their distinguished careers. For Crawford and Billups, in whom no other teams showed serious interest, the decision probably has more to do with which team offers the most money, but even that comes back to Paul when he makes public that he wants them around.

How would he not fit Doc is using the bench the same way as Vinny. Evans would just have to beat out the other bigs in the rotation something Jamison did with effort alone.

I give Willie a pass for a few games but it's been long enough. I do not get it with him. Rarely does he or Dudley take a tough contested shot. These are horrible percentages for guys that get set up wide open time after time. You do everything perfectly and get exactly the shot you want, and the guy bricks it. And does it over and over. Just demoralizing.

Jamal is who he is and he takes a lot of bail out shots so I don't mind his percentages as much. He sucked tonight but he'll probably get 25 next and be a hero again.

It's the guys spotting up almost unguarded and choking over and over that are killing us.

Well spacing is one. Doc seems to be very interested in spacing, Reggie brings zero of that. I'm not saying he won't fit, I'm saying in the end, the GM and Coach still have to be on the same page.

Doc had the opportunity to bring in a different style of player, but he didn't.

I thought you meant players signed this past off-season. Most of those guys are negligible contracts, Green, Barnes, were good contracts based on production, nothing to complain about. Billups I didn't like as a SG for $4M, but that is irrelevant to the season.

Butler was signed before Paul came on the team and because Gomes and Al Farouq weren't so good as a SF tandem.

A lot of it is assumption. Sure, Paul might have recruited, but a guy like Crawford was sought by the team, then they sent out Paul, Billups, etc to help them out.

Barnes got his spot from playing an impressing the team and it was a great contract at $1.2M. I was not and am still not a big fan of his current contract at his age, but that was Doc the GM.

Well that game sucked. Our offense just has absolutely no cohesiveness and we don't attack the rim nearly enough
