Now that it is a virtual certainty that Davis and Brand are both signing with the Clips, we need to start building a championship caliber bench. Our immediate need is another small forward who can also play SG if needed.
Here are my suggestions:
1. Corey Maggette. Is there any way that we can keep him?
2. Tayshaun Prince. Perhaps Mobley+Jordan+draft pick for him? If we get Prince, we will be unstoppable.
3. James Posey. If the Celtics get Maggette, maybe we could get Posey.
4. Mickael Pietrus. We need a lockdown defender.
5. Quinton Ross.
If we want a reliable big man who could shoulder some of Kaman's load, we could get Kurt Thomas. He would be invaluable to us if we ever faced Phoenix or San Antonio in a playoff series.
Finally we should get one more guard. We'll probably sign Livingston and Taylor to cheap contracts. If I were the Clippers, I would also trade Mobley for Crawford as Crawford is younger and better. Or how about throwing the Lakers off balance by nabbing Sasha Vujacic?
-------------------------------------------------------------
So imagine this roster:
Baron Davis / Brevin Knight / Mike Taylor
Jamal Crawford / Eric Gordon / Shaun Livingston
Al Thornton / James Posey / Marcus Williams
Elton Brand / Josh Powell / Tim Thomas
Chris Kaman / Kurt Thomas / DeAndre Jordan |

Some of those scenarios seem unlikely, and I am not a crawford fan (he is a chucker).
I would love to see QRoss back or Pietrus is not a bad option. Posey also would be nice, I just dont see him coming here. |

If it is true that we already lost the MLE, then let's hope QRoss agrees to a minimum contract. We would only be able to get QRoss, Livingston, Taylor and perhaps Bonzi Wells and just maybe Kurt Thomas.
So the very best case scenario (barring a blockbuster trade for Prince or Artest) would be to bring in cheap contracts to fill out the bench:
Davis / Knight / Taylor
Mobley / Gordon / Livingston
Thornton / Ross / Wells
Brand / T. Thomas / Powell
Kaman / K. Thomas / Fazekas |

| I would rather have Pietrus over Ross but now that Golden State is way under the cap I don't see them letting him go. They most likely will keep all of their free agents now that Davis is gone. It's unknown about the MLE. I don't see how Davis would be under the MLE when his contract was so high. But then again what do I know. As soon as I see anything, if it hasn't been posted I will post it. |

| Dallas already picked up Gerald Green. We should pick our players soon or we might lose out. I think we need to convince Bonzi Wells to come here. |

| Bonzi Wells would be nice. He has a pre-existing relationship with Dunleavy and I believe his was on the Clippers radar after playing for the Kings. He'd be a good pickup. |
