Repped High Quality Post

Count Trevor Booker as another guy who's not a fan of Blake or his style of play:

http://www.csnwashington.com/basketball ... -treatment

You see, it's my theory that someone like Zach Randolph doesn't take cheap shots at Blake or try to choke him out because he honestly believes Blake is "soft".

I don't believe Demarcus Cousins once challenged Blake to a fist fight after a game because he thought it would effect Blake's play.

Serge Ibaka didn't judo chop Blake's balls to gain some tactical advantage.

And Mark Jackson didn't argue with Blake on the sideline to try to get in Blake's head.

Oh no, it's the other way around. It's Blake that does these little things that piss those guys off. His physical play. Maybe he does a little trash talking. Maybe a little "accidental" elbow to the face of an opponent while going up for a dunk. Let's not forget jealousy and the overall dislike of getting dunked on.

When the Clippers lose, his enemies will talk about how "soft" he is or imply they're the one's who got in HIS head.

When the Clippers win, however, his enemies accuse him of flopping, or getting preferential treatment by the refs.

Seems to me they just don't like how physical Blake gets with them. But they wouldn't dare complain about that because that would make them seem...

What's the word I'm trying to think of?

Oh yeah...

Soft!

Repped.

Also, now I hope people understand why he used to flop so much. He's been playing through a lot of contact lately and hasn't been flopping and he's just too strong to get a consistent whistle. He rarely gets touch fouls called for the and1 and also when people wrap him up in transition (just like how DJ did to Wall last night), he never gets a flagrant call. I mean, they had to review the Jason Smith play to see whether or not Smith deserved a flagrant2 instead of a flagrant1. Once Blake adopts a scorer's mentality, he'll be unstoppable.

Blake is a physical player, and actually interestingly enough, a lot of the other players don't like his physical play either. Remember Andre Miller?

If you're in the paint, Blake will push and nudge and fight you and then run back down the court. It annoys some people, and that's the reality.

That may change soon. Especially after the confrontation with Anderson Verejao. He looked like the terminator out there walking through other players intent on getting his target

I don't think me or anyone ever thought Blake was soft "physically". The annoying part of game he is is soft "mentally". He is unwilling to impact the game when it is tied with 2 minutes to go.

I agree he is not soft physically. I thought early on he was simply a young guy going against older men. But I think he realizes he can compete physically.

He is "soft" because he is not a bad boy. The reality of it is he is not soft and there is none other I would rather have on our team, but he ain't tatted over and he ain't out there being a thug so therefore he must be soft. He projects the image of the nice guy, all-American kid and that pisses off his opponents.

As long as we get W as a unit... He can soft, hard, or anything in between. It is ALL about the name on the front of the jersey.

Booker came at Blake with some cheap shots the entire game - I am pretty stunned Blake didn't react. He did try to do a baseline dunk on him after one hostility but he didn't finish it (due to a huge about of contact). I agree with the general theory that people don't like Blake's physical style - he is a big banger down in the paint. One of the most physical guys in the league.

Yeah... he's a bit of a d*ck on the court sometimes. All part of the game. He doesn't play dirty, which is more than I can say for a lot of guys at his position.
