As a sports fan you have to manage your expectations else unless you happen to support the team that always wins you need to find a way to put your passion in but not get depressed too much when your team loses. Particularly if you watch them live. Good luck C4, good luck Clips!!

i think if blake scores at least 25 points then that would be a great game for him.. spurs know how to take the stars(blake and paul) out of the game

I half wonder if Haden was trying to get your coach to move back to Washington since he (you coach) stated it was his dream job.

FIGHT ON (and Clippers fight on too,you CAN win this guys, just have to apply yourselves)

Yeah, but he's got to be more decisive when he gets the ball. He is a great passer out of the post and I think he could quite easily average 5-6 assists against teams with a defender he struggles with if he makes the decision to pass early.

On the other hand, if he's got his defender's number offensively, going to the hoop quicker only makes him more dangerous.

I think it's about spotting what the defense is trying to do earlier, and knowing the tendencies of the guy who's guarding him. Not easy, and he's still young... but I'd like to see steady improvement in his smarts more than any other area as he progresses.

I dont' think spurs are as good as we are hyping thing up to be. And I don't think

clippers are as "Bad" as we are saying.

I think with crawford in the starting lineup this will be a pretty easy win.

This is gonna be a tough game but its completely winnable. We gotta play our game not theirs. Run all over their faces!

Man crawford should have been starting all season. With him in the starting lineup there is no defense in this league who can handle our starters.

I'm not talking just about his scoring ability. His playmaking ability is a difference maker along side chris paul.

Again...love your optimism, but it's only been one game with JC in the starting lineup.

If we win this game by a decent margin then I'd hop on the JC/Starter bandwagon. Our bench is going to miss Crawford regardless. It might not be worth it, we'll see.

Yea but I never liked that logic. I believe you put your best 5 on the court to start the game.

If that is the case why not put Lebron on the bench? I'm sure he'd give the heat bench a boost.

If you put any great starter on the bench they will give the bench a boost. Doesn't mean you do it.

You could put LeBron James on the moon and he'd still win you some ball games.

Crawford isn't our best player, he's just our best shot creator which translates very well to the bench.

Not too mention when JJ gets back it's no question that he should be the starter.

Matt Barnes practiced 3 point drill and free throws and ran suicide. Could be his first game back

Not sure another playmaker is necessary in the starting lineup when you have Paul and Blake. Especially one who's proned to silly TO's while over dribbling on occasion. Seems to me the 1-2 punch of Redick and Crawford was pretty awesome. With both averaging the same amount of points. Difference is JJ takes care of the ball and plays better D.

But I'm all for Crawford starting while JJ's out. Even brought it up long ago.

He needs to start over JJ.

Crawford over dribbles because he is the #1 scoring option off the bench without another playmaker. That goes away starting with Chris Paul.

Silly Turnover prone??? It happens at times, but I've watched every game but 1 and I didn't see a whole bunch of "silly turnovers".

JJ redick needs to come off the bench like he has his whole career. Crawford is simply a better all around player than JJ.

I didn't crawford was the best player. I said put your BEST 5 players on the court to start.

Our best 5 are as follows

  1. CP

  2. Blake

  3. Crawford

  4. DJ

  5. JJ

JJ doesn't NEED to come off the bench just because he's been asked to do that in the past. Doc knows what he's doing and the record speaks for itself. I don't get how some folks can't accept what their eyes tell them...that the team plays well while Redick starts.

  1. JJ plays better D.

  2. JJ runs better off-the-ball which Doc demands from his offense.

  3. JJ has a better assist to TO ratio.

I hate having to make these distinctions because I like Jamal. But JJ is a little more "solid" and Jamal is little more "explosive". Generally, you like to have the solid guy start and the explosive guy come off the bench for instant points.

Was there as much talk about starting Crawford over Chauncey or Willie Green? I don't seem to remember.

I was just thinking about this as well. guys playing against their old team usually play with a chip on their shoulder. a good 8 points on solide shooting from Jackson could be huge

JJ plays better D? Hmm couldn't tell by us being dead last in defense when he was starting.

JJ runs better off the ball? Debatable. Since we haven't seen Jamal be able to play off the ball as much since he is the playmaker off the bench. But from what I've seen Crawford is a terror off the ball this season.

JJ Has better assist to TO ratio - Again another misleading stats. JJ isn't the playmaker so yea I'm not surprised. HE doesn't dribble. He catches and shoots for the most part. Hard to TO the ball with that role.

Jamal has been playing solid D this season. Watch the game tonight then come back to this thread and you will see I was 100% accurate on everything I'm saying.

^Well the sample size when we were last was like 4 games, so that's already a problem. Team wasn't last when he got injured. Also the starters defense was actually good, it was the bench that was so bad on defense it was amazing.

So the team being last really isn't an argument for who is better defensively.

Offense already looked pretty good with Redick, can't really make any broad statements based on one game, no matter the opponent.

Interestingly, I don't notice Jamal doing much playmaking (I'm not sure what you mean when you say this though) when he's playing with the starters. He plays mainly as a scorer sto;;, unless you mean shot creating by playmaking. Even then, he plays a better off-ball role with the starters also, just with the added ability of doing some dancing around.

You know how when the clock ticks down and it gets closer to tip off, your brain goes into overdrive about what can happen in the next couple of hours? My brain just settled into this being very winnable by us if we just keep moving. Run them down. Wear them out.

I agree, though maybe my comments earlier made it seem like I thought the game wasn't winnable, but I didn't think that. Why not? Clippers are at home, they know how to play basketball, it is certainly a winnable game.

That's one of the disadvantages CP's teams have always had. The opposition would have an athletic 2 or 3 to guard him, but his team wouldn't have the same luxury against the opponents best perimeter player.

That's where Blake needs to adjust. That's a perfect situation to pump fake and then quickly drive to the basket
