According to CBS Sports, Laker star Kobe Bryant fractured the tibia in his left leg, and is going out of action for up to six weeks.

I don't you know about you guys, but probably in the back of his mind, Jim Buss has to go to be having second thoughts about giving Kobe that two-year extension.

Lakers will be fine. their record without Kobe wasn't bad.

Does anyone know if the Lakers have a draft pick for 2014. If so I think this will be bad for the Lakers, but not in the obvious way. Considering they were playing better before Kobe came back, their record might actually get better now. Unfortunately for the Lakers, this would actually make them worse in the long run. Their best bet at getting better for next year would be to tank and get a good draft pick.

They have their draft pick this year, just not next year (2015).

Ok thanks. Then I would definitely tank if I were the Lakers.

I have a feeling they won't end up tanking, at least on purpose. They have some of young, semi-athletic guys on one year contracts. They'll be playing hard, looking to prove they deserve a contract either with the Lakers or elsewhere. I have a feeling they'll be a 9-11 seed team at the end of the season.
