They are treating this lime a playoff game, making it a christmas white out with t shirts. We seem to struggle in Oakland but would love to take this one. I think we need to split the back to back.

I think we can win both games honestly! Reporters seem to give all the props to Golden State and Portland ( Respectivley, I feel otherwise about the Warriors ) we should solidify our props going 2-0 or 1-1 on this back to back!!! For the Clippers every game is winable! CANT WAIT! More excited about this game than I am for opening Christmas presents

All I want for Christmas is to see Mark Jackson humiliated.

Blake throwing down a Mozgov then smirking at the "reverend" before resting the 4th Q because we're up by 30 would be a very nice gift.

I don't like the Back to Back excuse. If that was a good excuse for losing there wouldn't be any win streaks in the nba.

We won 17 straight last season and some were back to backs.

Both games are winnable. Portland I feel is easier of the 2.

If they put bogut on blake that could cause a little trouble. Bogut is pretty strong on the post.

Well if this were the beginning of the season I would be really really worried, but I am just worried now so it's not too bad. they are sort of on a downswing, we are for sure in an upswing,go balls out and it is ours. Just no one get hurt pushing it.

This needs to be a win against both teams. I want our road record to be better than it is. Also, a win against Portland would bring huge since this would narrow the gap between us and them. They are currently 1st place...and like the great humpty used to say "please allow me to bump thee."

Damn, I wish we wouldn't have to play Golden State and Portland on a back to back. This is going to be tough, but I think we can pull it off. This will be a good test for us.

Friggin' Portland has 4 days rest to prepare for us. Where as the Clips played two extra games in between their last game. Who made the schedule?

Back to this game. I have a feeling the Warriors are going to play a good game at home for Xmas. They have been struggling lately and hope to take it out on us, who they perceive as a top enemy. We need to go all out against them to win this.

Two real tough tests for us. These are two playoff teams that were are going to face on the road and should we beat them we go from a pedestrian 8-7 road record to a respectable 10-7 road record. Also, it's always a plus to take down teams that are ahead of you in the standings

Currently the Clippers stand in 4th place in the western conference. Three teams stand ahead of them: Portland, Oklahoma City, and San Antonio. As I started examining the top four teams in the west I noticed a key difference between the top three and our Clippers. #1 Portland has an impressive record of 23-5, 11-2 at home, and 12-3 on the road. #2 Oklahoma City has a record of 22-5, 13-1 at home, and 9-4 on the road. #3 San Antonio has a record of 22-6, 10-3 at home, and 12-3 on the road. #4 Clippers have a record of 20-9, 12-2 at home, and 8-7 on the road For the most part the top three teams are very close in overall record. Only a one game difference stands between the 1st seed and 3rd seed. Yet there are is a 3 1/2 game difference between us and the first seed. If you examine the numbers our home record is superb. In fact, at 12-2 only the Thunder have a better home record than us. As you can see our achiles heel is our road record. At 8-7 we are closer to performing like the teams below us, which hold a 7-6, 7-7, 5-9, and 7-9 road record than the top three, who pretty much play elite basketball whether at home or on the road. The reason why this is a concern to me is that the 4th seed is not where you want to be. In the past two years we have seen the 5th seed upset the 4th seed both times. The 4-5 matchup tends to be a dogfight, and it is the most evenly matched series among all the seedings. Even two years ago when we upset the Grizzlies as the 5th seed they beat our team up so bad that Butler, Paul, and Griffin were all hobbled up and basically not at 100% against a Spurs team that was well rested after an easy matchup against the 8th seed. So even when a team wins this matchup it tends to be more physical and hard won that it can result in injury. If the Clippers are to be an elite team we need them to be better on the road. This road trip can be a great opportunity for us to prove we belong in that elite three. This road trip will have huge implications

I mentioned that the a Clippers were struggling on the road during the little losing streak when people were freaking out. The main guys, Paul, Griffin, Jordan had fairly similar production on the road, as well as Crawford. I believe while still good, a Redick had a big drop off from being great at home.

A few of the role players, mainly Hollins seemed to be struggling on the road. The plentiful loses to some of the Eastern teams were surprising, but hopefully they start to turn a new lead in terms of road play.

Clippers have the best record against the Western conference.

Our 3pt defense has been outstanding and it will be tested again tonight. This is a true test of how far we have come on three point defense and if continue to defend the three like we have the past few weeks we should be able to snatch a win.

Curry and Thompson vs CP and Jamal ooohhhhhhh Lee vs Blake ahhhhhhhhhhhh I can't wait !!!!

I checked out the numbers and you're right. According to ESPN, we lead the league in 3 point percentage defense.

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/team/ ... ctOpponent

As for our defense though we are in the middle of the pack. Which should improve with the addition of JJ Redick. http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/team/_/stat/defense-per-game

So at least the acquisition of these new wings has successfully resulted in progress in that area

PPG isn't really an accurate measure of defensive efficacy if you aren't taking pace into account. The Clippers are definitely not a middle of the pack defensive team, they are a good one.

I think our on court production is a testament to that more than any ranking of opponent PPG. Drtg, opponent eFG% (takes into account FG% and 3PT%) are better measures

If you want to go there how about Mullens gets involved? He can not hurt us if he misses any games. Twisted Evil

This is cold, and I am sorry it went through my head, but watching on TV right now the pre-game show is showing the Clips at a Christmas party with the Salvation Army for 30 families. There is a scene of the Clips walking around, some of them are sitting and reading to the kids (and you hear them reading) ,and one shot of some kids holding up a book with DJ half holding a book with a kid and the first thought in my head was, which kid is reading to DJ (there is no sound in that scene)?

DJ,I apologize !
