Also, one thing that did stand out was Paul did seem to let his emotions get the better of him in The final possessions. One thing skip bayless and stephen a smith have said is that he, as the floor leader, cannot lose his cool. That happened in game 6 of last years playoffs and he was ejected. He needs to stay calm even when everything seems stacked against us. He is way better than that, it was silly to take the ball from the bogut troll.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your mind set, the refs are human and all of us hold biases...flawed. So until the time the sports game is refereed by A.I.'s this will happen...sometimes more often then others times.

The checks and "balances" are coming now by way of the replay and you can judge for yourself on how that's been working out so far.

Frustrating to say the least sometimes.

This was one of the worst officiated games I have seen in forever. The NBA should be ashamed of themselves as a whole by keep allowing these refs to control and determine the outcome of a "professional" basketball game.

I was so pissed lastnight, I could only imagine how our players felt. Even with everything that happen we still had a chance to tie or even win the game.

The Clippers need to go out and play with a "us against the world" mentality.

Because at the end of the day we can't look to the refs, NBA or anyone else to hand us any victories.

I had never been so mad after the Clippers lost. It seemed like everyone was against them. Warriors got so much help from the refs. Positive of the game? We only lost by 2 without BG in the 4th and without Redick playing. Plus, the Warriors got favorable calls all game, but they managed to ONLY beat us by 2. It just comes to show how big of a leap the Clippers have taken. How much better of a team they are than the Warriors.

So, I just heard on 710 that the league rescinded Blake's technical to a common foul... that just pisses me off! I knew this would happen. he should have never been ejected. Sorry guys, I'm just still heated about the whole situation.

Here's the league's official statement on the incident...

Nice of them to do him the courtesy of spelling his name right.

"Black Griffin" roll I wonder if they'd make the same mistake talking about their beloved L.A. Lackers.

I'm still stewing over this loss that could have been a win had the stupid refs done their job correctly and made the right call that would have had Griffin staying in the game instead of being ejected after getting his second technical. I was waiting for the NBA to rescind at least one of his technicals, if not both. Glad he got one of them rescinded at least. Still, this doesn't erase the fact that the Warriors played dirty thugball instead of NBA basketball.

The only thing I can hang onto at this point is that the Clippers are CLEARLY the better team. They were owning the Warriors for the better part of 3 quarters before the Warriors had to resort to dirty plays with the help of incompetent refs and their idiotic calls.

After seeing the Warriors' dirty tactics of last night's game, they have eclipsed the Grizzlies in my "hate list" of teams and Bogut the Buffoon has surpassed ZBo in my "hate list" of players. And Mark "Lying Cheating Stripper-Loving" Jackson can rot at the top of the Really Really Bad Coaches List.

LOL. Okay. I think I got that off my chest.

Now on to Portland for the win! You got this, Clippers!

Well I don't believe that yet. We're basically on the same tier as the Warriors. Actually OKC and SA are the only Western teams that deserve to call themselves elite. The Dubs have had our number in recent years and we were only up a couple of points when Griffin was tossed, plus Curry was having an off night. At the end of the day we haven't proved anything in the NBA and still need to win some playoffs series's to prove that we are better or elite. Even without Griffin, we should have done better last night.

The dubs had our number since we were one of the worst teams at guarding the 3 ball in the league. I don't consider us elite but were a whole lot closer than the Warriors. I think we played a solid but not great game. Its tough to beat the Warriors at home without Redick and Blake Griffin in the 4th with home cooking by the refs.

But they haven't had Iguodala for half the year and we're only 3 games ahead. Last year they did better than us in the playoffs without Lee. I'm not convinced we are much better if at all better than them despite the records. We certainly don't play well against them. I don't care if they were cheap, we still lost. I expect more of the Clippers and they need to prove to me they are good before I put my faith in them. Every year they disappoint me.

GS is a jump shooting team that was sky high with confidence (well, cockiness) last year and it took them far. This year, they've fallen back down to earth. We beat them convincingly enough at home with all our guys firing on all cylinders. We were without JJ the whole game and without Blake practically the whole 4th quarter and still almost won. No doubt we win if Blake is still on the floor. So I'm not too concerned with GS at the moment.

We had a gimpy Dudley for most of the season, no Barnes, no Bullock and right now no Redick. You can't give them an injury excuse when we probably had worse injuries.

You are right we haven't proven anything and the GSWs did do better than us but that was last season. A lot of things have changed since then. We will see what happens but right now we are the better team to be frank.

They have had other injures as well. I don't Dudley is going to do much for us. If we had Bledsoe, we'd be gravy. If we're better than them so what? Is that really that important? Is this about them or is this about us trying to get to the Finals for once? I mean seriously. At the end of the day they still beat us and as a whole we still need to stop making excuses. Griffin is gonna get the wrong end once in a while that's how it is. But we need to stop worrying about little things and get to the finals. Worrying about this petty stuff isn't going to help. What if Curry gets hot in a series vs us? We should have won by 15. The reason why we never get anywhere is because we feel entitled to win. Forget the Warriors, we need to prove we have really improved ourselves. We're only a couple games up.

We have been improving a lot and were not even fully healthy yet especially on the defensive end. Once we get Redick back we will be a lot better. I could care less if were better than the Warriors. They are small fry. The only teams in the West I care about right now are the Spurs, Thunder and maybe the Blazers. I am only talking about them since we just faced them.

We won't even be facing the Warriors in the playoffs so I can care less about them and they frankly just don't worry me especially since we will have HCA. If we face them that would be a good thing since that means they would have eliminated one of the best teams probably due to extremely hot shooting that will eventually cool off.

Were far from the playoffs we will see what happens.

May take Doc till the end of his contract to full fill those "FINALS" dream. Hope I wrong by a year or 2.

Still... they seem to be doing OK despite not having your "faith" to lean on.

No we're not a finals team yet and I do believe we aren't better than the Warriors either. I think we win the series this year vs them, but If that's our only accomplishment, we're nobody. I'm a fan of this team but I'm also not a 100 percent homer. Even though we may think the Warriors are small fry, I'm sure some of their fans say the same thing about us and laugh at us for getting pushed around by Bogut, both Deandre and Griffin. The rest of the league does, just look at the majority of comments on YT. We're the minority.

I also don't think we're better than the Blazers, they are 24-5. We have not proved anything yet. We are just making excuses. Yesterday we did nothing but make an excuse. So what if we didn't have Griffin? It's not like we missed him the whole game. We need to win as a team, not just rely on one guy. We should have got fired up and came together. Like Paul said a loss is a loss. Nothing else matters. How pathetic we have been. And now what's our excuse tonight? That we're tired and Paul didn't hit the last shot to win? I'm just tired how we give our team a pass and whine. This is the NBA.

We need to get our priorities straight. I want to start winning and go far in the playoffs. Forget about all this self righteousness about our team and how we're better than this team or that team. Let's just win one game at a time and actually prove it instead of talk about it. I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but we are not playing as good as we think we are. Instead of trying to be positive, let's actually be proactive & do it.

The 19 game seasons were amusing. Was in the Oakland airport and a guy next to me has a GSW shirt on so I surreptitiously put my LAC hat on my bag. Lo and Behold a guy came walking by with a red LAC cap IN OAKLAND.

Then on my flight leaving Oakland a guy wearing a LAL hat sat next to me. "Oh isn't that the second best team in LA?" Embarrassedly he muttered under his breath as if to try to be intimidating "It's gonna' be a long flight" I of course said nothing else. The ball don't lie. I love it when they say shat like that because they really know it's true.

What a great way to ring out the old year and ring in the new

Today I sh*t; yesterday I shat; many times I have Shat?- Sh*t? Sh*tted?

How do you conjugate that verb?

Repped High Quality Post

  1. There are no finals teams 'cause this is the regular season, not the finals
  2. We're worse than GSW yet we'll beat them in a series? Isn't this a contradiction? 3 The majority of sportswriters who haven't been sniffing Oakland bus fumes say that we got majorly screwed. Even the league says BG shouldn't have been tossed. I think it was Steve Kerr who said we would have won save for the premature ejeculation.
  3. A loss is a loss. Are you paraphrasing Gertrude Stein?
  4. We shouldn't have a positive attitude but still win. In other words you win only if you think you suck.
  5. There is a difference between a reason and an excuse. The reason we lost is Paul's missed shot. To excuse implies that you are not held responsible for your actions and the Ghost of Neismth (sp) causes you to miss. Did CP say "that loss wasn't my MFing" fault? No, he makes no excuses. When it's his fault he says so. If you've followed this board you'd know that when we suck we say so loud and long.
  6. We're pathetic. We have the 6th best record in the league. Where does good stop and pathetic begin? I guess not to be pathetic you have to be fifth or better or is it 4th,3rd,2nd or 1st? 8 As far as playing worse than we think we do, well Kemosabe we all admitted with wailing moaning and renting of our garments that we have played like pigeon poop sometimes especially on the East coast tour but those last losses were hard fought battles with worthy opponents and could have gone either way

Too hip 3:16-20 How not to be pathetic

(Does anybody remember Stone Cold Steve Austin?)

The best way to avoid patheticissm is to not play at all. You never lose, you have a perfect record and you never make mistakes. Sportswriters will never castrigate you.(for those who missed it it's a combination of castigate and castrate) You can reasonably think that you play better than you do if you don't play. This is something my girlfriend would say and I would pretend to understand because the couch is pretty lumpy. Even better, this answers the GSW paradox. You can be worse than GSW but never lose to them in a series if you don't play.

Cleepers my Ciceroian comrade correct me but...

I think it was Caligula who conquered Britain. He walked to the shore in Gaul pointed to Britain and declared it conquered. Nobody would contradict him because to quote the great sage Kenyon Martin, Caligula would "F*ck you up" (rumor has it that he was one of Tiberius' little fishes)

The lights are turned down, the music is turned up. FIREWORKS. Then with the adulation of the crowd each starter is introduced. Then as Doc is introduced he takes the mike and walks to center court and loudly exclaims "WE WON" and the team leaves.

I like it. I also like India Pale Ale for it's hoppiness.

I'd love for the Clippers to be a contender this year, I suppose we still can be. But even when we first got Doc, I figured we would still be a year or two away from the Finals. What I'm looking for this year is to get past the first round, and play our 2nd round opponents tough...and hopefully win. Anything more than that would be awesome.

Actually, we haven't lost 3 in a row all season. Perhaps you're confusing the Clippers with your Warriors.

This should help... The Warriors are the ones with the hypocrite coach and the bounty system, the Clippers are the ones sitting atop the Pacific division.

You're welcome. Very Happy

If they are like this in the playoffs, it will be very hard for us to hang with them, so we can't try to play like the Heat did. Yes, they are very scary when they are like that. IF we do face them in the playoffs, every single one of our players has to be on their toes.

GSW + Portland +Suns= 3 losses in a row right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit-Nevermind Cleepers is right, I forgot about Utah. How could I? I enjoyed watching Blake dominate during that game...

The fact that the coach is a hypocrite isn't relevant. I don't think their bounty will work again because too many people know and are watching.

Their starting five (is?) are all damned good but their bench is 26th? They simply were unable to stop Curry's three pointers. Everybody else was hitting too but the Heat's defense was awful. GSW got into the paint anytime they wanted but a lot of it was because the floor was spread.

Paul has to score big. Bogut won't get away with as much. I think Blake will get calls. His new and improved shot will open up the paint but we don't have anybody to attack. If it spreads the floor our shooters can't be streaky. Klay will be tough to guard. He'll give JJ fits. Iggy is heads and shoulders above Dudley unless Dudley gets hot and requires attention. Bogut, Love and Iggy are also big and strong.

I think it's going to be to shut down somebody meaning Curry. Miami beat us by keeping the ball pout of CP's hands. Unfortunately Curry can play off ball but they don't have another playmaker.

These guys when they're hot can beat anybody but so can we.
