It's a no brainer if he's interested if you ask me! Sounds like Cavs aren't interested in him anymore and he IS interested in the Clippers.

Heart or no heart, the guys got amazing natural talent and when healthy is one of the best centers in the league. He would be a perfect fit on the team and if salary cap allows it why not give Odom another chance too

Just hope the Heat or Thunder don't get to him first!

NO,track record tells me he is not the guy. You can have a great skill set,but your work ethics and desire (and injury history) weigh heavily against this guy. Unless you don't like Mullens hogging the bench, then he could hog the bench in Mullens' spot.

It's tough - I agree he is a complete pinhead, but if you can get him for a bag of chips - why not? I wouldn't bet the farm on him but to get a guy like that for nothing, it has to be considered. You just can't see him as anything other than a backup. Who else other than okafor and Bynum might be waived or bought out? I feel confident now we will get someone good.

The Clippers team, their comradery, their personalities (Doc, Alvin, CP3, Blake) are all bigger than Andrew Bynum's ego. We are a team that wouldn't necessarily have to rely on Bynum the way others might. Doc would make it clear he's coming off the bench for DJ, and that we're the kind of team that can survive without his presence should he try to pull any antics.

It's possible that the more positive atmosphere in our locker room might make Bynum actually want to be a better player. There's a rumor that Bynum wasn't happy to hear that the Cavs were looking to use Zeller more at center off the bench while Varejao started. Meaning Bynum would receive less minutes. Considering we're kinda hurting in the backup big department, maybe he won't have that same situation here.

Do it!!!

When healthy, he's a top-3 center in the league. As a backup, there's nobody to beat him. Worse case scenario he's not healthy, so we sit him at the end of the bench like we do Mullens. He's not going to cause any strife, or he'll get cut and we start looking again.

Andrew is a bum. we do need a backup for the moment. if we make a trade at the deadline. i'll give him the boot. he doesn't fit characteristics of this team. short term ONLY.

I'll take a half ass/not interested bynum coached by Doc for 14 minutes a game over any of the bigs we have coming off the bench right now.

I think what you mean is getting back former Clippers Wink

Matt Barnes - started as a Clipper, goes to Lakers, comes back

Lamar Odom - started as a Clipper, traded to Lakers, comes back

Just getting back former Clippers.

In reality though, Bynum is a bum, and lazy, but if it is at a minimum contract, there's no complaints as long as he isn't disruptive. Well I suppose the complaints are that he isn't working hard enough to be effective night in and night out.

This season he was shooting 41.9% as a C. Is he going to be active on defense? One would have to see

We don't want Odom. He has too much baggage with his divorce. Nobody would want Mullens. Nobody will take him even if we pay them and gave then a spot in the Cliff Paul commercial. Willie is the deal of a lifetime considering that he has earned regular minutes and he's cheap. We have a full roster, 15 players. Only Jackson and Wayans are non guaranteed. We can't release Wayans while he's injured I think.

Bynum in his prime could have ARGUABLY been the best center in the NBA but he had Beasley Syndrome and was uncoachable. He once shot a 3pter. Coach told him not to do it again. Guess what his next shot was. I question his injuries. In my less than humble opinion LeBron probably will go to Cleveland. Bynum could play with Irving and Varajao and LeBron.

If we got him for nothing in a non guaranteed contract MAYBE but I'd rather have Hollins because he leaves it on the floor and he's much better.

@AlexKennedyNBA: Cavs source on what happened with Bynum: "Same thing that happened in LA, just reckless behavior. He was regularly disrespecting coaches." My thing is that he had the same coach in LA in Mike Brown!....

Publicly disrespecting your coach is unacceptable. What makes you think he won't disrespect Doc? What's Doc gonna do, give him a permanent spot on the bench? Disagreements should be private.

"Stupid is as stupid does" Forrest Gump. He acted like a spoiled disrespectful toxic brat because that's what he is. Baron Davis comes to mind. If we waive Jackson and Bynum at the price of paying for his shoes and it's a non guaranteed contract maybe but Jax wants to play and wants to be a Clipper.

A sign and trade for Willie. Salaries should match.

There was once a woman who found a half frozen dying snake on the road. The snake pleaded for her to help. He promised that if she saved him he would never bite her. She took him home and put him by the fire but that didn't work so out of compassion she held him next to her heart so the warmth of her body would revive him. The snake was revived and the first thing he did was bite her. As she was dying she asked the snake why he broke his promise.

His answer "You silly woman you knew I was a snake and that's what we do, we bite"

The fact that andrew bynum is a head case doesn't bother me, Doc rivers has experience with headcases, Rondo and perkins. There were often clashes in the Celtics locker room but he still got production from his players. I think if the clippers sign for bynum it would be a steal, maybe playing under doc will bring his motivation back. I mean he did win 2 Championships he can be a key component to our first chip.

Not only do I think Mike Brown is one of the problems, I think him being on a team lead by a cocky youngster PG and not having any real veterans on that team is a big problem.

He probably felt he could do whatever he wants. He'll have fun trying that against S Jax. Bynum May be half a foot bigger, but I wouldn't f*ck with Jax. No way, no how, Jax would be the type of guy to go straight for them knee caps.

Arguably Rondo was one of the reasons Doc left. Rondo was going to be the franchise player and he was uncoachable

There has to be a huge sit down before even doing this with Doc and crew. Dan Gilbert wants no part in Bynum going to the Heat so I could see him holding on to Bynum. I No Odom though I'm done with that issue. Let the stretch bigs figure it out .

I'll give it a try

Good free throw shooter for a big

He's a legit 7'1"

He has a good post game

He could anchor the second unit defense

Pretty good man defender in post

I think he could play with either BG or DJ

Theres a good 15-20 minutes available behind BG & DJ

Also I think winning cures a lot of the unhappiness.

I do not want to waive stephen Jackson. Can't we just get rid of Malik? He doesn't make that much, who cares if we have to pay him.

Only way i see this happening is if Bynum is waived and he comes here for the min.. If the cavs trade Bynum, we're stuck paying him his guaranteed 6 million in salary. we'd have to come close to matching his salary but why do that?

There's only 2 Centers in the NBA where if you need a bucket, you throw it down low to them in the post and they will most likely get you the bucket. One is Brook Lopez and the other is Bynum.

I'm really iffy about Bynum. He's a petulant child who has totally wasted any and all chances with mostly every team he's ever had. To control him, you would need a coach on the level of a Phil Jackson, or a Gregg Poppovich...or a Doc Rivers.

I would still much rather have Okafor than Bynum. That being said, if Okafor isn't bought out by the time the trade deadline is imminent, then I guess we could take a chance on Bynum.

If this guy gets bought out or realeased and we have a shot to sign him for a minimum deal for the season you do it.. no questions about it.

This and this only. Do not trade for Mr Pin Head. We'd have to give up multiple players for him (that's even IF the Cavs would want any of our spare parts) to make the $ work and that would make us weaker not stronger IMO. We'd most likely be able to afford "only" 13 players (league min) as we are very close to the hard cap now (75.7 mil)....danger Will Robinson, danger.

Clips are looking for a big man that's willing to be coming off the bench, be a team player, accept their role, not worry about playing minutes. Bynum is none of that. I don't care how good he is, if he doesn't fit any of the above categories, he'd hurt the team more than he contributes.

At this point of his career i think he would accept a smaller role to ease him back to a healthier state. Under Doc Rivers Leadership and motivation he main regain the form of player he once was (which is a top 2 Center in the NBA). Imagine a Big three of Paul, Griffin, and Bynum. Don't get me wrong i appreciate everything DJ is doing this year and its great having him, but you have to admit a healthy motivated Bynum is a bigger talent than DJ is. Just point out the possibilities, plus it wouldn't hurt to add a legit 7 footer. In regards to Okafor there is no guarantee that he will be healthy in time for us to use his talents, at least Bynum is more ahead in his recovery than Okafor is.

Bynum has degenerative knees. He cannot be anything other than a bench guy long term.

A healthy motivated Bynum is a rarity. Bad knees, bad BBIQ, bad attitude. Much rather have DJ and thankful we do.

Pick him up ONLY if he's released and pay nothing more then the minimum.

Trading for him is a terrible move, luckily i think our FO is smarter than that. If the guy is waived and can be had for the minimum why in our right minds would we say no?

Sign him to be a backup big to supply 15 to 20 minutes a game, if he disrupts the team which i think is highly unlikely you drop him, he gets injured he is only being paid league min so no big lose there..

If anyone saw tonight's game it's obvious.Changed my mind. If Bynum is waived and we can open a spot get him immediately. Hollins being gone showed that .If DJ or Ryan can't play we've got a problem. If Bynum stands there and doesn't move he's more effective than Mullens. I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy. He's worse than Gomes. AB has a big body unlike Ryan and can't be muscled.

GO FOR IT
