Teams never cheat off the interior because of the lob and offensive rebounds that can lead to put backs. Teams don't fear our shooters its been a theme for years unless the shooters do something.

In today's game you don't need a center that can score if your PF is an elite scorer.

You need a guy who will play defense and snatch rebounds , and preferably a defensive anchor.

Trading DJ top 3 rebounds and top 5 in blocks, and your defensive anchor for a center who would realistically be a 4th option is foolish at best, down right insane at worst.

Because he's trying to do too much...and credit to the Suns. They are ridiculously active tonight. They play like this against every team, they would be the best defensive team in the league.

Blake's playing pretty bad too... Forcing unnecessary shots / turnovers.

It is one thing for Gerald Green to catch and shoot, it is totally different for him to pull up and make a 3!

WTF is going on! Where is the D? Blake is being doubled and no one moves around. CP is getting into the paint and no one moves around!!! He is getting his shots blocked with ease.

Our stars CP and Blake have to force bad shots because none of our role players(scrubs) can make a wide open jump shot. Its been a trend all season. Our role players show up once every 4 or so games. Its disgusting.

We need Redick back. Our most consistent role player by far.

We are simply not using our size advantage and being sloppy with the ball. We were close and I didn't like the play of Collison outside of the one bucket he looked more interested in showing up Bledsoe instead of running the offense. We need Jordan and Griffin it hit the glass even harder on both ends they don't have the bigs to bang if we get physical.

They are really active. But I think it has more to do with us making ridiculously dumb decisions. There were several plays where you can already see the defender running to the passing lane, yet we still make the pass.

Dude your going overboard. We wouldn't be 4th in the west if what you are saying is true. Settle down.

Clippers fans on this board are the funniest. Have a bad game or 2 and you're ready to trade.

Well, one out of three ain't bad. He sure can rebound but I don't think he anchors any defense.

Yeah, he's the problem. That 1 FGA he tried and missed would have put us a lot closer in this game, lol. Not the fact that Blake is 4-11, Crawford 1-7, Barnes 2-6, Collinson 2-8 and we're shooting 30.4% and unbelievable 12.5% from the 3.

Yup, DJ and his 12 rebounds are the problem. Razz

Bad passes and playing a perimeter game against a up and down team is not the way to go. This is all effort.

That would be nice, but unfortunately there's nobody else to go to. Willie I guess, but that's it. The Suns are fast and speed is key, so Dudley & Jackson wouldn't help much unless they were guarding the 4. Thing with Crawford is that you hope he gets hot- that's kind of one of the few chances the Clippers to come back.

Suns are smothering the paint right now, so if the wings aren't going to hit jumpers, it's only going to get more ugly.

Our role players have been crap all season long.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/LAC/2014.html

The stats they are putting up are awful. Guys like Crawford and Collison barely have an average PER(which is 15) and they suck defensively. Most of them are underachieving like crazy right now.

I guess mark me down as a non believer of Dj. His improvement has been great but I just don't think he fits the team good enough for us to take it to the "next" level.

Man, how are we gonna come back from this? Force turnovers and hit threes I guess. JC can have some great 2nd halves...we'll need that. And Dudley definitely needs to find his shot.

DJ has almost nothing to with us being down 21. If Crawford and Collison weren't making bone headed decisions, bricking everything, getting destroyed on D it would be a close game. It doesn't help that our other role players are pretty ineffective too. I have no clue what these clowns are doing. Its like they have been a slump all season. All of them should be doing better than they are right now.

Can't shoot for crap, lazy, constantly get burned on D....

Testament to how great CP3 and BG are. If this trend continues we are going nowhere in the playoffs. You don't win 2v5. All the best teams in the league get consistent contributions from their role players.

Everyone played bad in some form in the first half got nothing to do but bounce back. Some of this is on Doc as well this team doesn't seem to realize the Suns are a threat to our homecourt if the keep this up. This is much needed statement game that can't be taken lightly.

Not for long if we continue at this rate.

Aside from our core it looks at the moment as if all our other guys are in serious decline. Like we got them too late.

thats is why they should remarket them as the big 2 1/2 not the big 3

I don't think yelling at them will help. That may help some extent, but at a certain point, you need to look at the other players are actually capable of. Barnes, Jackson, Jamison all just look old. Mullens and Hollins are useless for the most part. Willie Green is Willie Green. You never know what to expect from Collison. Some nights he'll give you 15 pts and others he'll have 2. DJ rebounds well, but can't make anything other than a dunk. Plus his defense still needs a lot of improvement

Dudley has been pretty bad so far, but he has had his moments and I still think he's not 100%. It can't be easy to shoot and defend with bad knees, like him. I still have faith that he'll turn things around. Unfortunately there's just not much talents amongst our role players.

Crawford is really the only role player that I trust to give a consistent output.

Remember when our bench was a strength for us?

At least the Blake and CP3 duo is looking good. Let's cross our fingers and hope JJ can solve all our problems.

Most of our guys can't make wide open threes even in warm ups. Just saw the whole group brick a ton before second half

Yup- Suns are tied with the Clippers in the loss column, so judging from the way they are playing.... And the way the home team is playing, no team can be taken lightly.

I would like to be optimistic and say that the Clippers will bounce back and win this, but it would take Dudley to find his shot, Jamal to get going and make more shots, and the rest of our role players to step up and contribute. Pilot light needs to be re-ignited and I hope it starts in the 3rd quarter.

I don't see how you can say he doesn't anchor any defense. But Ralph, mike, cp3, Doc rivers, and myself all think he does.

Willie Green is massively underachieving. He normally is a consistent decent 2nd-3rd stringer so no he isn't being Willie Green. Dudley has been awful, way worse than his normal level of play. Crawford has been awful as of late. That is still three guys underachieving. Doc did a terrible job bringing in Mullens, Hollins and Jamison as our backup bigs. Sorry but if you bring in three guys and you are barely playing any of them it just shows you made a bad decision.

Barnes is recovering from an injury so I give him a pass. Don't like him chucking 3s its not his game.

We need Reddick back... None of the wing players are reliable shooting the ball. Jamal is too streaky, can't rely on him too much.

Seriously he needs to try to dunk those after the contact. Good D there though.

Dudley can't be playing that far off his man like that. the ball was nowhere near the paint for him to be playing that close. he hedged, he cost us 3 points.

In sorry but Crawford is really annoying me. He never looks to pass and he can't score right now.

I still think we should trade him to get someone who won't be quicksand on offense with the ball.
