Was there any word of whether CP hurt himself on the fall or on the arm yank by Ellis? From video replay it looked like the latter because he didn't seem to move his arms forward to brace his fall.

CP looks more buff this season, and I'm also wondering if doing the extra weight training contributed?

^ Monta hooked his left arm, though. It's the right shoulder that's injured. I think it happened as he hit the floor.

Ah must be the fall then- his shoulder probably hit the floor hard at a bad angle.

Is anyone familiar with this injury and can speak to recovery?

I think the biggest difference is we didn't have the lack of PGs as we do now,and our bench was way better.

Bledsoe ran the 1st unit, Jamal the 2nd. With JJ out and Jamal on the first unit it really thins out our 2nd unit.

But I think we can hang tough. Blake has to go back to the Blake play of the Baron days where #32 carried the team. that team was no way as good as a team is this one but they played well enough to hang in there.

I think the worst part is we can sit here an speculate,is it 3 week week injury or a season ender. We need answers so we know how much whiskey to start drinking and for how long..

I'm a laker fan? Damn, I never knew that...

You can always foul him late in all quarters, and avoid bonus. I don't know who's dumb enough to use their starters to hack DJ, there are plenty bench-warmers who can commit these fouls.

And as bad as Shaq was, he still shot 52.6% from FT in his career.

Other than 1 year, DJ never even got close to that number.

Weight training done right isn't usually an issue.

The only way I can imagine the extra weight lifting being a detriment is a thing called pattern overload. Basketball players already have a tight shoulder complex due to all of the pressing movements they do like chest passes, dribbling, shooting. If you add the db chest preses and overhead presses to that mix, it could be he had a bunch of muscle imbalances. I wonder how good they warmup his rotator cuffs on game day and how many pulling movements he incorporates into his workouts to counteract all of the pressing movements that make basketball players have a more dominant anterior like that of a boxer.

He'll be back in a month. Based on the analysis by Dr. Gforce, it looked like the most minor of these types of injuries the way he was moving directly afterwards.

Misses some time every year, we'll be alright. I think we're better off this year with Collison vs. Ebled and Redick will be back soon to pick up the slack. Blake has been scoring a lot of points the past few weeks, he'll have to continue that trend if we're going to play above .500 ball while he's out.

It just sucks because this was the part of the schedule where we could have made up some ground.

We can also be thankful that the injury occur now with that same schedule. Glass half full outlook. Smile

And the question is also how he will play when he is back. It's his shooting arm.

No use trying to come up with all these scenarios, it's going to drive you nuts... unless it's done that already, lol.

Just try to relax and wait until Monday and you should have all your questions answered...at least most of them anyway.

yeah this is what really bothers me. CP is no Westbrook who can attack the basket all game. CP relies on his jumpshooting and he needs it to be really effective.

Knowing CP's persona, if he couldn't shoot a lick anymore, he'd just change his game and put up 20 assists per night.

Cut off the guy's arm and he'll still find a way to compete. This is just a setback.

Notice I said SEMI BLESSING. When he was hurt last yr we suffered. Many in the press and at least to some extent rightfully so have said we can't function without him. We have to learn because this team is capable of doing good things without him. This will be a test to see if we really have the hearts of champions and can step up or fold under adversity. I would rather have us slip a bit in the rankings but become a team that id dependent on no one thing to win.

First sorry if I came of brusque. Didn't mean it that was."Take a look at the diagram" sounded harsh and I didn't mean it that way

A shoulder separation can be likened to bending a twig. In a Grade I you bend the twig. It may be a bit floppy but it doesn't break. A Grade II you bend it till some fibers break but not all the way through. The deformity may be very small. A Grade II the twig breaks completely. There doesn't need to be bruising because it's a twisting motion usually and not caused by a direct blow. As a matter of fact there is usually no bruising at all. You really can't tell for sure what grade it is by how they hold their arm. Some with a Grade III let their arm dangle.

I retired in 2001 and am more tense now then when I worked as I have more time in my brain to worry about my sports teams.

It was easier when they all sucked but now that some are getting good, even great,my nerves get shattered.

I'm the exact opposite. i used to go into full tantrum mode during the bad times and now I'm incredibly chill, almost apathetic. its crazy because when i saw CP walk off to the locker room, it didn't truly bother me to the extent that it did when EB went down. i nearly blew a gasket then.

As a Lakers fan, I just started watching Clippers games and was hoping for a Finals appearance. As I said, the Clippers are a Los Angeles team and represent my city.

I am praying that CP3 is OK.

Go Clippers (and of course Lakers.) I can root for two teams ya know!

YOu know, you can google an shoulder injury and come up with virtually everything. As fans we go nuts trying to be doctors from our computers or guessing at things that could have happened and many times we put the worst case scenarios in front of our face (I am guilty of this a lot to) and we start the boo-hoos for us and our team. Then we rejoice when we are wrong or start the I-Told-You-So when we are right

Reality is,nothing we can do will change it and we can get our ulcers all worked up,or wait until this afternoon when we get a real report. Then we can go nuts or not, depending upon what happens.

For now,it's the NFL playoffs, who dey?

Seriously people, we need to get our heads out of the PAST. We don't have Bledsoe, and that's that! And our record was only .500 when he started that stretch Paul was injured last year. Shoulda, woulda, coulda does nothing to improve us now. We got at least one good player who fits nicely on our team. It just happened he had a freak accident and got injured. A guy who rarely sits out to injury. And hopefully that OTHER player we got will eventually get out of this up-and-down pattern and be more consistent. As of now, Butler looks like the better player, which is unfortunate.

If Chris's injury was as bad as we THINK! He would have flown home to get CHECKED! A day with something TORN? Would not feel great! That is why I believe he just dislocated it....

Before his update I researched a little on shoulder sprain injuries, and it appears to be a grade II or III shoulder strain, I took that from the timetable they gave.If it is a III sprain, it's bad because although it gets better (pain) in about 4 weeks, its prone to re-injury, so some rehab for 3-5 months. With a II pain goes away after 2 weeks and you can resume athletic activities from 6-8 weeks.

I have a bad feeling that this injury will last longer than 3-5 weeks, and will seriously hurt our playoff seeding.

Let's say we fall to the 7th or 8th seed, is anyone actually that scared to play Portland, OKC, or San Antonio when we get Chris back? I was more afraid of lining up with Memphis last year than I am lining up with any team in the West this year.

We can beat any team with JJ and Chris healthy. I don't care if we don't have home court, we had home court last year and look how that turned out.

If we slip that far, but everyone's healthy for the playoffs, we'd certainly be the best 8-seed that I've ever seen, and we'd be back to being among the league's best.

The CLIPPERS... joke of the league for 30 years, going from 8-seed to NBA champions, could be the greatest basketball story ever told. Jamie Foxx and the Rock playing the dynamic duo in the movie version... Morgan Freeman as Doc.

Ratings, Mr. Stern, ratings.

The only team that scares me every year is the spurs, much more than the grizzlies. They are built for the playoffs and know how to capitalize on all of our mistakes.

As know one knows anything for sure until the MRI reveals IF and how much soft tissue (ligaments) damaged there is and the severity of the damage, expect the worst and hope for the best.

So it's interesting that Doc said that they're looking for guys "out of the league" who can get out of their China contracts and that he said it doesn't necessarily have to be a PG but could be a SF who can handle the ball.

Even Doc's expecting the worse and hoping for the best:

Rivers was asked if there was a chance Paul could return sooner than expected.

"I'm not too confident that that'll be the case," Rivers said.

"I'm just going to wait and see."

Rivers said Paul "could be" out longer than five weeks.

"But I'm hoping not," he said.
