Exactly- why run around the screens- you're dead if you do that vs the Spurs and don't switch. And don't stick him so closely. Parker wants to shoot the J and go for 40 that way, okay best of luck, but layups- not OK. Collison just not very good defensively in his awareness tonight. Same goes for the trapper- DJ and Griffin coming to "trap" would just allow an easy pass between them to Duncan, enabling 1)an open Duncan jumper or 2)another quick pass from Duncan to a cutter for the layup. Or, the show from the big man, but Collison doesn't react fast enough, ends up chasing Parker who effectively blows past the Clipper big man en route for the layup/dish. Repeat many, many times, just substitute Parker for Ginobilli, and Collison for Dudley. The same friggin' play. Speaking of Dudley- it was sad seeing him getting chasing Ginobilli- just a complete, utter mismatch. You just CANNOT allow that. You always need Barnes in there if Ginobilli is on the floor.
BTW you want to trap, it better be a darn good one, keep your arms up high and legs sticking out. Kick, scratch, do whatever you need to do, otherwise, please don't bother. Your point guard gets picked off by your man, you better the heck switch to prevent the layup.
