Chris "Birdman" Anderson was a huge pickup last year for Miami.

And that's the kind of pick up we need instead of this Mullins, Jackson, Jamison, Hedo crap. 3 has beens and a never was...Ugh.

Other than Bynum, who's available that could be our Birdman?

Clearly there's a reason no team wants Bynum and it bums me out, but it's probably for the best not having him in our locker room.

Maybe if we were a little more patience something/one might turn up, but no we sign these stiffs. Hedo NOT on a 10 day contract is dumb. Oy vey, hope it works out for the team sense, but don't count or bet on it.

We will still have a roster spot if we don't sign Wayns and Darius. Okafor might be ready before All-star break.

Hope you're right, but so far I wouldn't vote for Doc for GM/Exec of the year, LOL.

I hope they are actually signing Turkey-Glu to a 10 day contract instead. Why does he get a rest of the season contract when Stephen Jackson didn't get that courtesy?

I sure do hope they know what they are doing.. I guess at the end of the day its still a min contract so if need be we can still cut him i would hope. that is if we will even have somebody legit to sign and not some of these bums.

Probably on a unguaranteed deal like Jackson (Jackson was not on a ten day deal either when cut) and if it does not work out we rinse and repeat. We could use an upgrade at backup C but people are overlooking the fact we actually are getting much worse production from the PF's. I am hoping it working out for Hedo because his skill set would be a major boost if he can give us something with the second unit.

They can trade with the Celtics. It was only the possible KG trade and he is no longer on the team.

No, I'm pretty sure it banned any trades from being made this season. I don't think we can be involved in any trade involving the Celtics until next year.

Which is stupid, but probably did us a favor in the beginning.

I found a similar article on ESPN; but they are so vague that it didn't really clarify if it was just trades involving Garnett and/or Pierce or any players all together.

An idiot's train of thought...

"Hmmm... Warriors have been linked to every guard out there for weeks and the Clips, Suns and Nets all have a guard down, so they MUST be interested, right?"

Some good stuff here:

"Please don't give Turkoglu a guaranteed contract, Doc!"

Good find. I didn't realize we still had that much flexibility.

Still think that Bled trade exception will play a role sometime in the next month or so. The question is, who is on their way out?

I think this all might be a prelude to a trade. Possibly including Crawford and/or Barnes.

Certainly didn't expect him to be signed for the season. A trade of Barnes for Elton Brand! Come on Hawks, be dumb, lol.

It does sort of put a glut at SF, don't see why it would indicate a Jamal trade though as Hedo can't play SG at this stage. Still, let's see how well he can actually play before we start saying his presence could cause anyone to be traded, lol

The warriors just got a cheaper version of Jarrett Jack by aquring Crawford.

Interesting. Though he started off hot, the other Crawford has been reverting back to his old shooting ways:

41.4% FG / 31.8% 3PT

Hopefully the little transformation that Boston did with his playmaking sticks and then he should help Golden State. Toney Douglas wasn't doing too much for them. Actually I don't want it to stick because I don't want Golden State to be better, so hopefully he reverts back to former Jordan Crawford on their team where he's not really useful on offense, lol

I don't really think it helps GS that much. Two bench guys that are pretty much the equivalent of Nick Young. Crawford is ok offensively but TD is an imposing ball control PG. Those two guys won't play more than 20mins per game between them unless Klay or Curry are injured. Don't think this is that big of deal.

Although I'd rather get Jordan Crawford and Marshon Brooks vs. Hedo Turkoglu.

Well we didn't have the draft picks to make those moves. We'll see how they use him. Their bench was their biggest problem, and though they could have balanced the lineups to keep a playmaker between Curry and Iguodala on at all times, now they technically have a player off the bench who can create shots for others. Brooks isn't likely to get any minutes, they probably just got him to make everything work.

While Jordan / Brooks is better than Hedo, they wouldn't make sense on a team with Collison and the original J.Crawford, so that's the other part.

It might actually mess up their ball movement. Especially if Crawford reverts back to his chucking ways

Sweet.. Crawford needs the ball to do good.. The ball our of the hands of Blake is no bueno! Hedo will do much good for this team.. Mark my words.. He will be great for Us..

Golden State just got better no matter how you look at it. Toney Douglas was awful for them and somehow they landed two young players for him.

We need to find that type of trade where we dump Mullens and get back two young bigs.

Maaan, the Celtics might be a Championship caliber team in 4 years considering how many picks they have.

If they make the right picks that is. They can either be another OKC or blow it like Cleveland continues to

Yes we do. We need to keep pace with that team. As is we stay at the 4th seed, but if we dump Mullens and find a better option than Dudley we can contend

just saw we signed Turkoglu, but what surprised me was that it's for the rest of the season

guess there is a reason doc has a ring and i don't

Crawford and Brooks are both expiring and I'm sure Crawford will test the market. As mentioned the idea of flipping two of our lesser bigs for fresh bodies would of been great.

Dudley's not our problem. We need a productive back up big...that's our problem. Maybe Jamal and stuff for something.

Healthy Dudley should be an upgrade over injured Dudley. He's already been doing significantly better the past few weeks compared to the start of season, and he's still probably not quite 100%. Barnes will probably start playing better soon as well and get back to closer to his production the last few years. Also with Redick back, we'll probably see him and Crawford playing some at the same time as well. Most of our wings troubles have been temporary problems due to injuries and slumps.

Yep, he says he's at 90% now. Barnes just needs more time on the court to get his rhythm back with all his injury issues.

But hopefully we find that back up big we so desperately need....soon.

Hedo musta been shooting like stephen in his workouts too go straight to a contract for the rest of the season. Can't be worse than mullens anyways...

Hedo was signed for the whole year? Doc should stick to coaching and leave the GM duties alone.

Let Doc get all his band of misfits together before we judge him. Remember when Pop traded for Diaw? It looked like an awful pick up, but now he's a defensive stud coming off the bench.

Hedo could very well be an impact player for us or he could suck ass. Only time will tell.

This was a guy I kept saying the Clippers should sign all summer of 2012 and until Miami signed him, I was not pleased, but such is life. Everyone was scared about his whole situation, yet it ended up being that he did nothing.

I'm pretty sure the Bobcats waived Diaw, so yea, it is similar, I would have liked Diaw as a Clipper that year too because of the skills he had despite his poor play that year in Charlotte.

So yes, Hedo could be a similar situation.

Little bit of a stretch to compare Hedo to Diaw.

  1. Diaw was still a productive player when he was released by Charlotte.

  2. Diaw was 29.

  3. Diaw wasn't a guy who hasn't played in a NBA game in over a year.

But yea there's a chance that it could work out for the Clips, as slight as it may be. Very Happy

He was also extremely overweight and wasn't showing signs of getting back to his old ways, but Pop saw something he liked.

Doc see's something in Hedo. This is different then when we signed Jackson because at that time we were desperate for a wing player.

I trust Doc and his eye for talent even if sometimes he lays an egg on player acquisitions.

He sure looked like a guy who hadn't played in the NBA.

Note: the top is what Pop signed up for, and the bottom is what he turned him into.

Note: don't care what he "looked" like, look at Diaw's numbers before being released. Pop knew what got.

Despite being grossly out of shape Diaw was making some contribution to Bobcats. He was putting up 7.4/5.3/4/3 on 41%/27%, which is pretty bad, but Turkoglu's last run with Orlando was 2.9/2.4/2.1 on 26%/04%. Even if you look at their per 36 numbers instead, Turkoglu has a long way to go just to reach fat Diaw levels. Diaw was also 6 years younger then than Turkoglu is now.

Turkoglu could work out, but he's a big longshot and hopefully we'll still add someone else later. Rivers has seen him in person though, so maybe he sees something or knows something most people don't.

41% FG, 26% 3FG, 2.3 TO's.....his numbers looked like his body to me, very hard on the eyes.

And compared to Hedo's....you better put on some dark glasses when you look at his last numbers, LOL. Wonder who's the better judge of talent...hmmm.
