Tom Ziller's response to Ric Bucher's ridiculous article.

Great find!

I hope this article gets more attention that stupid crap on BR.

Well the idea that a guy who averages 20+/10+/3+ shooting more than 50% from the field would actually hinder a team from winning a championship is laughable. Not to mention the fact it ignores every improvement that player has made.

Good article, although I disagree with his assessment that LA is better then Blake.

Yeah, I disagree with the assessment too. I just like that he discredits the other article, LA has one great rebounding year and now he's so much better than Blake. Clippers have had a better team, and didn't rely on Blake if it were the other way around I think Blake would be filling the stat sheet. Let's not start mentioning the coaching differences, as well as years in the league.

In my opinion this will be a high peak year in regards to Aldridge's rebounding, where this will be an average rebounding year for Blake. I also think the .03 difference in blocks per game get translated as LA is the better defender, where the truth is that Blake has a better defensive rating and has more defensive win shares than LA. So I don't get the whole idea that LA is a better defender than Blake.

Wasn't exactly a love-letter to Blake, more like yet another hatchet-job on Donald.

Interestingly, Blake and Love are among the league leaders in ball touches per game (there's an Ibaka joke there somewhere). I think someone said both guys are the only players in the top 20 or so who aren't point guards. Shows how important both Blake and Love are for the team.

I find it funny, that all the trade rumors and bashing on Griffin have come while he's dominating the game and scoring 30 pts per game.

I don't even pay any of the blake bashing articles attention.

Because when Blake WIN the title all these media retards are going to be on his d***!

Just saying they Lebron and picked apart his game until he won a ship. Now he's a media darling.

Blake might just get a lot more respect if he can somehow lead this team to an impressive record during the Grammy trip. A Herculean task for ANY player, to be sure.

I didn't realize until the Warriors recent streak that no team has ever swept a 7-game road trip. If we could do that - without CP3 - Blake instantly gets elevated to LeBron/Durant MVP status. These pundits love a "record" to hang their opinions on.

Just a VERY tall order. He'll need to keep up his recent play and the rest of the guys have to be flawless for a couple of weeks.

Of course, if that were to happen, we'd get a week of the media riding Blake's jock, then the CP3 trade rumors would begin.

I honestly believe BG is so much better than LMA. If Blake was put in LMA situation, he would excel or do so much better.

"Pairing two big men who are not scoring threats outside of the paint-Griffin and Jordan-with a ball-dominating dribble-drive point guard such as Chris Paul also has a dissonant ring. A stretch 4-a power forward with three-point or deep two-point range-would be far more ideal."

I found this quote to be very cliche. Again, quotes by people who do not watch the games. Blake has incorporated a mid range shot into his arsenal so this "points in the paint" stereotype is false. Also, successful stretch 4's like Dirk Nowitzki are incredibly hard to find. The fact that one struggles to even name any outside of Dirk goes to show how rare that attribute is.

What I find hilarious about that assesment of our team is that we have perimeter players, and it was our main focus in the offseason. Doc perennially was quoted as saying "we need more shooting," when asked about what additions he would make for this team. With the addition of J.J. Redick, and Jared Dudley, the team made sure to balance out their inside presence of Jordan and Griffin with guys who could space the floor..even to a deteriment. Our need for shooting made Doc even acquire these "stretch 4's" that the article talks about, both (Mullens and Jamison) who have been ineffective or seen llittle play time.

Agreed. What Ihate is the ommission of other moves Donald has made in the past. In between the 05-06 squad with Mobley and Cassell and this new squad of Blake and Paul, Donald made a great effort to build a team with Davis, Camby, Randolph, and others. Injury and lack of conditioning to Baron Davis was the main derailer of that squad, but funny how Donald continued to get the "miser" reputation.
