Nice article, '86. FYI... you linked to the second page. Might want to edit your link, mate.

I did the same thing Clippers_FTW. I was thinking to my self "why you reaching 86?", then I saw the comments read the whole article and thought it was a good article.

Good find 86.

My apologies to Blake Griffin. You became my favorite player during your rookie season. Your 2nd and 3rd seasons were somewhat frustrating because your jump shot was just awful. I just thought some players were not meant to be shooters and you were one of them but the shot has looked smooth for the past month. I wanted to trade you for Aldridge or Love but not anymore. 25/10/5 and shooting 56% fg, 75% ft in January. Beast mode! Keep up the great work.

Lawler said blake is more friendly to the refs and even more friendly to us meaning he and Smith. A joke? Didn't sound like it

Why does Blace seem to get into more scuffles and flagrants then the whole team combined and probably anybody else in the league?

A combination of his hype as a rookie, not wanting to be posterized by the highest profile dunker in the NBA, his mind games and trash talk and the fact of his beastly physical presence. Cos you know that if you don't foul him hard he will get an and 1.

I might not have the complete answer to your question there but those elements have to be contributing factors.

I get daily from Fanside, which is run by Sports illustrated, and today they had the video of Blake getting in the chops by West and basically to paraphrase,Blake is a fake tough guy that baits players into smacking him around, but doesn't have the cajones to fight back once he is slapped or punched or gouged.

I do not understand the logic of all these writers and broadcasters and even fans anymore. When did the NBA change to the MMA with a little bit of hoops thrown in. Why is it to be a real power forward you must punch people in the face and face ejection every single game or you are fake. You can dunk, great, you can shoot from the outside, fine, your freethrowing is the best it has ever been, whoppee, you are starting to develop a 3 point shot, big deal. You have to punch someone in the jaw to be a real player.

I was reading an article yesterday about Nick YOung being suspended and the readers comments were basically,if you were a Faker fan, about how disappointed the fans were the bench didn't clear and start a brawl.

I think many NBA fans and plyers need to find another sport, become hockey fans/players. Then you can see or do all the punching and fighting you like.

Nothing Blake did during that skirmish baited West. West was just being a ****. Blake, who had the rebound first anyway, was able to take away the rebound from West. West didn't like it and tried to smack BG. Maybe he was mad that he only had 4 points and 2 rebounds while Blake had 11 and 6 at halftime...or maybe West was ticked off Blake got that steal from his ball denial of West. But you'd think a 16 point lead would enough to let such frustrations go.

I was driving home when I heard the skirmish, and Isaac Lowenkron pretty much agreed that West's elbow was unnecessary. I like that the league now is catching on to all the dirty hits people have been throwing Blakes way.

I'm sure somebody is going to suggest West did it because Blake is "soft" and wanted to get in his head. Problem is if you watch West's expression when he walked away, he wasn't smiling, he wasn't winking at teammates or high fiving. He looked angry. So once again, it's not West who got to Blake, it was the other way around.

Yeah, Skip Bayless will be on this one very quick. We should actually have wagers on which sports commentator will go fo the cliche criticism against Blake after these episodes lol

I think that as Blake is having his breakout season the general opinion of him is slowly changing and along with Doc being there instead of VDN the refs are beginning to respond.

I really hope this is the case because it could make quite a difference for the Clips. Time will tell!

Blake's almost 72% now from the FT line. Can he get it to 75% by the end of the season I wonder?

Pfff that's easy, let's see if he can get to 80%

We are at the halfway mark of the season, should be doable if he keeps knocking 'em down like he is now.

He's been at 76% through December and January (25 games). Even if that's his ceiling, it's great for a big man. I'm proud of the work he put in and now it's paying off.

Quite interesting how Blake's numbers across the board are significantly better on Friday nights. Fairly small sample size so it could be a statistical anomaly, but all the same I wish we had more Friday games.

I think 75 percent is amazing! I'm sure he wants to be even better but I agree foul Shooting is not a weakness over 70 percent

I kind of feel like they have gone away from running the offense through him the last few games - more perimeter based. I want to see him getting more touches early.

Oh heck yeah. Starting the season, I said I'd be satisfied if he hit around 68% from the FT line, but 70% would be a great benchmark. Sure enough he's doing it. Which is great. And I agree we should have gone through Blake even more last night. Even though it was kinda hard to do that getting doubled. I almost feel like we'd have had more success letting him take the ball down court the whole game.

They need to make a new Beats commercial. But instead of showing fans yelling at a sports figure, they should show a bunch of thug basketball players yelling at Blake as he walks by putting his Beats headphones on! lol
