Anyone else begging for the team to update their in-game music? Seems they have the same three tired songs that no one reacts to (unless it's during an important part of the game).

The current trend is to use lots of hip-hop/rap music. Perhaps we should use some west coast/LA sounds, Dr Dre, etc.....

Please no (c)rap. We could use more hard rock songs though.

I'm all Indie at heart (even did my own show for about 6 yearsand ran an 'indie' club), but was thinking about the crowd and players in general.

Basketball is more Hip Hop/ Rap genre type music.. Rock just doesn't really go with the culture in BBALL.. where as in hockey rap has its moments but rock is the best to go with that sport..

I don't know hearing the other at either sport event would be akward..

At least we don't have some old fart bashing out chart tunes on an organ. For that, I'm grateful.

Well get used to it tonight as the Knicks also love to over use that horrible instrument.

^ To use it at all is to overuse it.

That sound is the aural equivalent to the stench of a decomposing skunk carcass.

Still, it's hard to argue against it being congruent with the product the lakers and knicks are putting out on the floor this season.

I've heard a few other teams update the "dum dumb...Defense" music, as well as a few others. Think it was San Antonio the weekend they had the nickname jerseys on the Miami-Brooklyn game. Such a simple thing makes a difference.....

At least don't play the same three clips in constant rotation, it gives the game such a stale feel. Especially when the crowd isn't reacting 1 minute into a quarter, etc.

Because we have had a rap DJ (Dense) in charge of half the music, and the other half is whatever is free because it is too old to have to pay royalties. Also I think the NBA buys some of that crap because you hear the same stuff in all the arenas. BTW I am tired of it too, when I was young there used to be a saying if it is too loud you're too old. Guess I am getting too old.

I once read that piping in ear splitting music during break is a psychological ploy because supposedly you 20-somethings respond to that sound by wanting to drink and eat more and it causes concessions sales to soar. They don't care if we old farts pay for junk or not because we are more likely to not buy the stuff they pass off as food. Mostly I don't like anything at Staple save for the craft beer stands.

Lol to the crap comment about "(c)rap". Stupid idea, how many basketball players listen to hard rock? Are you trying to uninspire them? Smh

Exactly. Hard Rock would just seem funny for a basketball game. I could imagine the players stopping Mid-game like "wtf? Change this."

Certain rock or metal songs could work if timed right. That Radioactive Imagine Dragons song goes hard and is a ball jam.

Some of the stuff used in wrestling ppvs or in theme songs has a pumped up beat that could work for players. For the most part hip hop comes to mind more often .

Black Keys get some play at staples center. usually during timeouts when the camera men are getting shots of the crowd Black Keys are playing

Maybe they should experiment with the some old school Rock & Funk influenced tracks and remixes.
