True. JJ's been 3.6 assists to 1 turnover since returning. Everybody doing the job!

Dudley's assist rate has gone up some as well. We have a lot of guys that can pass, but there is only one ball to go around, so there is going to be diminishing returns in assist numbers especially when you have guy who is so good when he dominates the ball like Paul. You can never have too much passing though, unselfish play and moving the ball quickly and effectively keeps the defense off balance and gets you good shots whether you're the guy who makes the basket or gets the assist or not.

I kind of wish the NBA tracked secondary assists like hockey, I have a feeling that Blake Griffin would do well in it, we get a lot good shots when he draws the defense, the defense makes it's first rotation, but we make another good pass leading to basket.

Cool thanks. Griffin is doing well as I expect and Paul leads the league. Deandre Jordan actually gets a good amount of secondary assists despite getting very few actual assists. Just eyeballing it, it looks like Marc Gasol is only PF or C with more than Griffin he's a small sample size. Jordan is only behind Gasol, Griffin and Horford among bigs unless I missed someone else.

A lot of good information on that site, wish there was more criteria you could filter by though.

You can add custom/remove filters and such. Plus check out the other areas besides Passing data. Very interesting information/data. More to come in this advanced stat arena future. Six cameras up in the catwalks tracking every player. Wow.

Kind of took me off guard when Doc said he started Barnes for defensive effort I thought Duds was suppose to have the same in a different way. Things are about to get interesting I do think doc needs to have Dudley shoot more often.

Its a complete mystery. On the flip side he only takes like 1 layup a game so its probably when he is nearly wide open.

Here is a quote from Rivers "I don't know what the big deal is with lineups. I do it more for fit than to make a statement. We'll do it several times. I'll start Matt at times. I'm waiting for Matt to play well, too. I told them before the year that's a lineup I hope we can go back and forth on and I think it's getting to that point.""

It sounds like from the outset this year he was expecting to alternate them depending on the situation. That is probably the best solution, they are good at different things, so one or the other can help more depending on the matchup, against a big tough team like Detroit, Barnes rebounding and toughness was a good fit.

It also sounds like Dudley might be playing a little less in general for while to help rest his knee:

"Dudley has been playing with tendinitis in his right knee and nothing short of rest will improve it and Rivers is hoping fewer minutes and some time off next month will help him get ready for the stretch run.

"He's better but I don't think 100 percent," Rivers said. "Hopefully the All-Star break will get him a little bit of a break. My goals are by the time the playoffs start he feels great but through the regular season that's going to be hard.""

Needs filtering by player height or position and perhaps by other metrics that aren't on the specific chart. Something like player season finder on bbref, but with all the cool tracking numbers.

Dudley is better at guarding jump shooters, Josh Smith is too big and too much of a banger down low for Dudley.

Barnes is better suited for guarding that type of player....even though Smith still went off today.

Barnes is an overrated defender

From Doc's interview, he seemed to imply that he made the move more as a means of generating better offense with a bench unit. Still, Barnes is probably a better matchup for Smith, possibly.

In the end, they are both similar level players with differing strengths, neither guy is a for sure starter type player, so mixing and matching based on team situation and opponent makes sense.

ClippersDA, it depends on how he is being rated as a defender. I don't know how most people are rating him, but he's an average - above average defender right now, if you rate him there, then that is a correct rating. Of course if you think he's some sort of stopper or elite defender, then that is overrating, but I don't think anyone thinks that.

Talk about working hard- Jamal tweeted a pic of Blake working on weights AFTER today's game:

Blake could of seen more time at the three if the game was closer.

I'm sure he knows what he's doing- off day tomorrow. Doubt that he would workout if there were a game tomorrow- I think.

Hope so. I don't want him to, like, pull something because he worked out more than he needed to. lol

Yeah, I would worry about him lifting weights throwing off his shot.

Feel really bad Willie did not play at all. Sucks to do that to a guy loyal and true at home. Hopefully Doc makes it up to him somehow.

CBS Sports Matt Moore Power Rank: 7 They're this high for two reasons: their record and Blake Griffin. But for a team that was supposed to be a title contender, the Clippers have played....
