The silver lining is that Doc will never play Mullens again unless were up 20(I hope). He is so bad that in two minutes he completely changed the momentum of the game.

I thought Doc already learned his lesson. Guess not.

Awful loss. Clippers had a lot of chances to win this game at the very end there. Oh well. Re-group and beat the Bulls on Friday.

Perhaps Doc wanted to give Mullens another chance to earn his keep before deciding to unload him by trade deadline? Lol I was surprised Mullens got into the game at all.

I keep harping on Blake's rebounding but to me it's indicative of not being as dominant as he should be. I am loathe to quote Barkley but he needed to "impose" himself more

If that was his mindset he should have done it in a game where were up by a lot. Mullens playing and taking so long to put Blake and DJ back in killed us.... We need one of Blake and DJ on the floor 90% of the time. Our bench bigs are garbage and that is also partially Doc's fault.

Blake was doing a great job on the boards before Paul went down. For whatever reason, Blake's lack of boards recently is directly connected to that. It's like Blake's stepping up on D and facilitating (led the team again in assists) is taking him out of his rebounding game (that, and DJ picking up his boards). It's worked fine so far. But maybe tonight it didn't.

I don't get why the Clipper didn't stick to what was working. Blake should not get blamed for this at all. They stopped running the offenne through him and the Clippers went nowhere fast. If I was Blake, I'd be pissed.

If anything, I guess I'm glad Blake even took those shots at the end. A year ago he would have deferred. Still, can't wait to have Paul back.

Also I just noticed we only went to the FT line 9 times...9 TIMES!!! And Blake had 6 of those. Jamal had the rest. Nobody else got fouled?

Think he was trying to make the rest of the team contribute? maybe a way to say stop riding on the efforts of one guy and carry your own weight? we had bad performances by a couple of guys tonight.

We have one problem and that's evidenced by our lack of FTs. We are a jumpshooting team that can't hit threes. For some reason we continue to try and fail. If we had the old Eric Gordon we would be a serious contender. The Bledsoe trade was a good idea but with him at the 2 we'd be a better team. Within a months Blake will be able to crash the boards like LBJ but we need Ginnobli. With that type of player we win.

Were 2nd in the league in FTA so I beg to differ about that. We need to stop shooting so many 3s though for sure. We are almost top 5 in attempts and near the bottom in 3 pt %.

griffin screwed the pooch this time. lack of boxing out, and that end of the game shot attempt... dunk it home man. you guys all know I'm the biggest blake homer, will defend him any and every chance i get. but when you're the leader and you mess up end of game, it's gonna be noticed more than others messing up.

It happens. All stars miss the occasional shots down the stretch, even clutch guys. Fact is Blake had 27, Jamal had 20 and JJ had 15 and the team still only scored 91 points.

Man I didn't watch the game only saw play by play updates. But that looked painful. We are turning into the Phoenix suns of old living and dying by the 3 point shot. The only difference is we don't have the same elite 3 pt shooting they did.

It's better said - How many FTs tonight? How are we without Paul? He gets to the line a lot. Don't know Where are our FTs coming from? In the paint with Blake and CP or fouling shooters? Fouling shooters kinda doesn't count since we're trying to cut down on jump shooting. I mean it's not predictable. When LBJ goes you foul him or he scores. Magettee at his best was- you foul him or he scores. Your bigs will have problems.I seriously wish we could get him in shape and out of retirement. He averaged 3 assists/game. Manu the same. Jamal isn't Curry

The three point shooting is Doc's fault. Three point shooting also gives long rebounds that DJ or Blake can't get.

Jamal had 20, sure but his 21 shots + 3 free throws were a big reason why we only scored 91. Fact is, Jamal is a chucker, and his two ugly hero ball lay ups at the end cost us the game.

I thought the guys took a beating, but 9? Damn... still, we settled for a bunch of jumpers and didn't come out to play (aside from BG, DJ, and Redick)

One of the reasons Jamal chucks is that our offense breaks down and he has to clean up the mess at the end of the shot clock when he has to create his own shot.

Reason why we lost this game is cuz we didn't have a point guard in the end.. DC's toe injury really hurt us, our offense last night looked like del negro's play with jamal dribbling the ball took off for a lay up near the 3 point line

To me that signals either we are kicking someone's ass and it is over,or Doc is surrendering. I guess he surrendered last night.

I am afraid for the next game cause I think we will have only one PG and his contract is up in a couple of days.

This is puzzling huh, guess the Cats are the cleanest team in the league. We got TNT treatment on a non-TNT game.

Not to me. We were a brand new team running sets for the first time in real game situations and they hit 14 threes on something like 50%.

If a team does something uncharacteristically well against us, I find it easier to live with losing, but last night we just had no energy or mobility on defense. That took away all our customary easy buckets and made their offense look much better than it actually is.

So I never did get a chance to watch this game, but I finally caught highlights of all Blake's baskets...

Holy crap he displayed a LOT of great low post moves...including against doubles. Amazing!

Sometimes yes, but this game he was taking a lot shots in earlier in clock before we had a chance run much offense. Part of this was us not having a point guard, but he needs to make better decisions when he's filling in. You're right that he is usually more of desperation clean up player and that is what he does best, but he needs to do better sticking to it.

They are like fifth best in not allowing free throws, so actually are a team that doesn't foul much, then on top of that we just weren't attacking very much outside of Griffin.

Everyone seems to blame JC for this loss. It was a team loss, Jamal and blake carried us, with big buckets when we needed it. JC hit some big threes to stop the bobcats momentum. Other guys didn't show up, JJ was struggling to get open shots and even tried to much to create causing turnovers and bad last second shot attempts when he passed. Guys were not hustling and playing hard, they seem to coast on the defensive end. One play where Pargo airballs a floater and instead of going after the ball, clippers player watched as Henderson catches the airball and puts it in for a layup. Just no hustle this game, they just went through the motions. Dissapointing loss that may effect their mindset for the rest of the trip. Hopefully they can get over it quick and play defense the way they need too play in order to win the rest of the roadtrip.

No one player lost the game, a lot of little factors lost the game. J.J. had some bad turnovers at key moments. Jamal shot poorly and didn't have the best shot selection. Charlotte played their game and kept the Clippers off the FT line. Doc made some mistakes with his rotation choices last night.

A difference in any of those things could have been the difference in winning and losing. One less turnover which means a shot is up, a better decision in one to two possessions by Crawford, and Blake in for one to two more possession would mean 3-5 more possessions to have gotten something better out of the offense. That could have meant winning instead of losing.

I didn't catch the game but felt the same way. Yeah, I'm disappointed that we lost, but I'm very very happy to see Blake playing well and carrying us like he was doing. Whether he succeeds or fails, the experience will help him grow..
