Now I know ppl on this forum don't like the idea of trading for Carmelo. But there's rumors that he wouldn't mind joining forces and I personally have always liked Carmelo. I wouldn't ever trade Blake for him BUT if he's willing to come here and play with the team we have I would be all for it way better than the SF we have now and would give up a big scoring option id like to heat what you guys think?

The ball movement the last few weeks has been a thing of beauty. Carmelo is a ball stopper. His 62 point game the other night was amazing, but he had ZERO assists. We do not need him. Our offense is great. We have several legit go-to scorers now that Blake is growing.

If he will come here in free agency without moving any BIG pieces, I am fine with it. He is that SF that we need to help solidify everything. I would compare that team with Melo to Boston in 2008 that won a Championship

Rondo - CP3

Ray Allen - JJ Reddick

Paul Pierce - Carmelo Anthony

Kevin Garnett - Blake Griffin

Kendrick Perkins - Deandre Jordan

6th man - Jamal Crawford

AGAIN. If Melo is willing to come here through Free-Agency without us moving players like CP3 , Blake, Reddick, DJ, or Jamal I AM ABSOLUTELY FINE WITH IT. If we have to do a free agency sign-and-trade and move guys like Dudley, Barnes, And fillers like Picks, Cash, Mullens or Hollins I AM FINE WITH THAT AS WELL.

Take a pay cut then. Imagine Melo coming here for veteran minimum lol

If DTs could afford addition without subtraction,it would be fine with me. But they can have Mullens for a sacrificial player but everyone else pretty much stays.

Melo did say he is willing to do whatever it takes to win a championship.

If that means Melo is willing to take a pay cut to come here, then I would love to have him.

We'll have our very own #teamjordan

If we can have a starting lineup of

Chris Paul

JJ Reddick

Carmelo Anthony

Blake Griffin

DeAndre Jordan

that's a killer starting 5 right there.

Don't know our cap situation, but with some vet mins, mid-level exception plus Reggie Bullock & 2014 pick preferably a big man to fill out the bench would be nice.

I don't think ball movement would be an issue, it didn't seem to when Melo played with Denver when they went to the conference finals.

I also think Melo's efficiency would rise with CP and Blake getting him open looks at the basket.

I don't know, just my opinion.

I honestly feel like Carmelo would only help out team with Doc and CP3 on the team the offense would find a way to work out and it has with Jamal and jj so I don't see why it wouldn't work with Melo

If both sides are serious about this, I'm sure Team Jordan Brand would not mind dirtying their political hands to have their 3 biggest superstars playing in LA. As a Clipper fan and seeing how the way things are going now, I would only take Melo if he signs for vet's min which will probably never happen. He shoots 35 shots per game anyways, it's about time he scored 60+ points. Nothing special.

I don't see how Melo and Blake will both get their points. In order for Blake to be engaged in the game, he needs touches. If no touches he will zone-out.

I love the way millionaires complain about not getting more millions. I saw Jay Leno on tv Sunday bitching about only making 100s of millions for the tonight show and he felt short changed. Oh boo-effing hoo.

Melo is 30, my guess is that he's looking for a 2-3 year deal now to sign one more deal before he's done. In the off chance he doesn't win a championship, he going to want to go one more place to try and win. I can't name a better place to go if winning is all that matters.

Blake seems to play naturally around a team that compliments him so you never ever consider him to be a ball-hogging whiner because he knows he gets his numbers. I would hate to see someone come in and upset it to the point that where what you said happens.

No to ME-lo. Remember how he held Denver hostage just cause he wanted to play in NY? Remember how he went public about how he hated playing in Antoni's system cause it was about ball movement and not ball-stopping? How about Me-lo basically laughing at Linsanity's offer from the Rockets? This guy is the epitome of ME. \

Remember when I said I'd rather keep DJ than to deal with Howard before he ended up with the Lakers? Remember when people basically laughed at me for saying that? I have a worse feeling about Melo than I did about Howard. Melo and CP3 means BG is on his way out. careful what you wish for...

This team doesn't need Melo. It needs an athletic, fairly young, 3 & D SF. Not an old ball stopper that will demand the super max.

Just like Howard, Melo's not coming to this LA team, LOL. I think the Bulls will make a play for him too. Lakers-Bulls.

So close if only Donald didn't cancel the Ariza for Butler trade. mad

This season Ariza is shooting 6 3s on 40%.

Also 6 rebounds and 2.8 assists with good defense.

If Carmelo will come here as FA and Donald can afford him why not CP3 can manage to pass the ball whoever is open, with CP3, Blake Carmelo and JJ nobody will get a double team, no need for DJ to score his job is to grab the rebound.

Ding, ding, ding. What does he think, the team will gut itself trying to get him and still be as good? Take the MLE for two years and come play with them if you want to so badly. If not, go make your money somewhere else.

This team isn't nearly as good if they shed out all the contracts required to trade for or sign a guy like Melo.

Sometimes talent and fit trumps chemistry, and Caron ended up being one of the worst playoff performers, lol

I think I physically shed a tear in relation to that trade. Cheaper and better player, seemed liked a no brainer

Only way we'd end up with Melo is if we somehow come up with a young/cheap C this summer. S&T for DJ, Barnes, and Duds and probably have to give them picks on top of it.

Would you rather have Melo and Mozgov or DJ and Dudley? The former is a big upgrade in that case.

It's been said if we didn't have to restructre the whole team then yes.

But reality is probably not.

With this team and Melo at the 3 We'd be the best team in the

league by far.

All that "Ball stopper" stuff is because of the team he plays for.

With cp3 and Docs offense that wouldn't happen because he wouldn't

touch the ball every play.

As long as BG remains on the roster, I am all for Carmelo joining the team.

People don't like that he doesn't pass that often and plays little defense. Just look at what Doc has made out of DeAndre Jordan, and I guarantee Melo wants to win more than DJ does. Doc would make Melo a terrific team player.

I would not trade for melo. I will take him on for MLE as long as we keep CP3, Blake, DJ, Reddick, Crawford and barnes.

I agree, CP3 could've structured his deal to take a little less to get another solid player.

Melo is better player than Jordan in a vacuum, but when you consider how their skills fit with Paul and Griffin, I think Jordan does more to support what they are doing and help us win. Any team with Paul and Griffin is going to be an offensive powerhouse, especially if they are supported by guys like Redick, but neither Paul or Griffin or Melo is someone who is going to anchor defense or lead the league in rebounding.

I don't really have any interest in Melo. I don't really see the purpose. The only benefit is that he can play a convincing stretch 4.

I know Melo is an offensive machine. I'm not even referring to the ball stopping issues, but I want a perimeter defensive stopper. Deng, Iggy, someone in that mold would get me to want to stretch the cap a little more. Personally I think we go get Sefalosha this offseason, get an upgrade in regards to our back up bigs and keep our core.

This is an interesting discussion. I'd love to play with CP3 and 32 as well. I have as much chance of doing it as does Melo. Which option would he be? Where is he in the Pecking Order? It's hard to go from Top Dog to Hind Teat. Can he play defense? Our team is becoming defensive minded. Does he have the character? We want only high character guys, We could have gotten Beasley. This doesn't even address the fact that he has hands of Superglue. Deng is the man. A much better fit. In pre CBA days I'd sign him as a FA in a heartbeat

When the rumors of trading Griffin for Melo started I remember a reporter tweeting that Doc is not a big fan of Melo which is why the trade would have never happened.

Adding Melo would be cool, but I think the negatives outweigh the positives.

Like some people mentioned Deng would be a perfect fit for this team.

When has melo not been a ball stopper? Was it also the Nuggets too all those years? Maybe he's just a victim of teams he plays for.

We probably wouldn't have gotten redick. I'd argue that redick is more important to the team.

I think that under Doc Rivers Melo can turn into a great player that actually moves the ball. The pay cut I'm not sure is something that will be that big of an issue because of the vast promotion money he'd get off commercials of them playing together by Jordan and whatever else comes his way when he comes over to the Clips. I can see Melo coming to the Clips in free agency but it's going to take some major maneuvers and hopefully it doesn't take moving any starters other than Jared Dudley of course

This isn't really that much of a debate. Assume most basketball fans would prefer a SF rotation of Melo and Anybody vs. Duds and Barnes. Superstars don't usually play for the midlevel and we'll probably be tax repeaters by next season so somebody important would have to go. Probably DJ.

I'd take 'melo in a heartbeat... but not for what we'd have to give up.

If he really wants to win, there's no assembled team that he/they could use more.

Not gonna happen unless he's really chasing chips.

Yup, I think he's our starter next season. A lot of reasons that he'd come sign with us whether we have full midlevel or even the mini midlevel to work with.
