Can you blame him. He is a young player but with a lot of experience and a lot of talent. He just never gets to play. His numbers and minutes are roughly 1/2 of what they were last year. He played in the Italian pro leagues before coming here. He has been a scorer, a rebounder, an energy guy. But all that energy is bottled up by the "great talent evalutator." If he does get traded, the team who gets him and plays him will have a steal. He could even become a star. Too bad. Our loss will be somebody elses gain. I hope the Lakers trade for him. That way he could embarass Dumleavy right here in LA.

Yeah- you can't blame him- here's the word from the OC Register:

Singleton was the first player out of the locker room after Wednesday's victory over Chicago.

"I don't want to sound like I'm whining," Singleton said. "I just want to play, and I don't think it'll be here. I'm never getting the opportunity, and so I told my agent to call them and ask them to trade me."

Singleton has appeared in 28 games and is averaging 1.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in eight minutes. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.3 rebounds as a rookie last year in 59 games.

Yeah I noticed on TV during the last game he didn't seem as enthusiastic as he used to be when the Clippers made good plays. He was just sitting down and clapping- normally he'd be one of the first ones up from the bench hi-fiving guys as they go into timeouts. The signing of Doug Chrisite was probably the last straw for him. Poor guy- I hope they can work things out with him and keep him around- I'd hate to see him in another uniform dunking over a Clipper....

James may have just been frustrated and let off some steam. I've been watching the bench during tonights game and he's up cheering his team on and I've seen a smile on his face a few times. I'm sure it does get frustrating not playing but the Clippers are a deep bunch and with the team playing well, there probably won't be much change in the rotation. Singleton is signed through next season (the team has an option on next years contract) and he's pretty cheap. So I'm sure that unless the team can get something good for him (or a package of James and Rebraca), he'll be a Clipper for a while.

I dont think teams have seen enough of Singleton for him to warrant much attention around the league. I think he'll stay unless he's part of some big deal in the offseason. I seriously doubt Maggette is getting traded this year.

Yeah seems like he's back to his normal cheerleading self tonight- maybe somebody talked to him. We'll see what comes out of this. I feel bad for him and Ewing since obviously they need to put up some stats to get a better contract in the future, and being glued to the pine won't do that for them. I think ultimately that's Corey's beef too- he wants to put up the stats to get a nice contract extension in the future. In the end the value of contracts seem to be mostly about your #'s compared to other players'.

According to today's LA Times article- James is okay now- here's the scoop:

Before the game, seldom-used forward James Singleton clarified comments he made after Wednesday's victory over Chicago at Staples Center, saying "this is where I want to be."

Upset about his role on the team, Singleton, who has appeared in 28 of 46 games, said he instructed his agent to request a trade. But after speaking with teammates Friday, Singleton said he lashed out in the heat of the moment and would again focus on helping the team win.

"This is the place that gave me an opportunity," said Singleton, a second-year player averaging 1.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.9 minutes. "I don't want to be anywhere else, I just feel like I'm letting down the team when I don't play."

"I didn't hear his quotes, but he tells me he wants to be here and do the right thing," Brand said. "With James being a younger player, I try to talk to him pretty often.

"He feels that he should play, get some time, and I just tell him to work hard in practice. Then when he gets into the game, go out and make the most of every opportunity you get."

Nice to see that he still wants to be a Clipper...But I understand that if things are going to go on this way, one day he will demand the trade...He deserves to play at least 10 minutes per night but Dunleavy doesn't find minutes for him.Is a pitty but we have other great players in his position (Brand,Thomas,Gette)

I am the new guy here, but lets get something straight here guys.

The proper pronunciation for the coach's last name is

D_U_M_B_L_E_A_V_Y !!!!!

Obviously he gets called that for his questionable substitutions.

I love Singleton! He's not another Chris Wilcox. This guy brings energy, and hustle. When I saw him play 2 years ago, and he was nabbing like almost 10 boards per game, I figured this guy could be as good as Rodman.

But I get so frustrated with Dumbleavy's substitutions, I at least think with the way KAMAN is playing (like crap) Singleton should get some of his minutes, and play in Kamans position despite his size.

P.S. There was a Tim Thomas sighting....again!!!

P.S. Does anybody know why the Indiana game on the 11th is not being televised? This is the only game this season not being televised.

Where's the Clipper love?

Screw the SuperBowl, It's all about the Clippers starting 2-0 on the road as they play the hot Raptors.
