Lol, what tense said. Sure,we could get Gibson if we traded good players.

Think about it like this, let's say LAC had Gibson, would you trade him for:

Matt Barens for 2 more years (PO 2nd)

Willie Green

Brendan Haywood for two more years

No? Okay, the Bulls wouldn't do it either. You don't dump your scrubs and get good talent back. Charlotte hates Mullens, they think he sucks. Barens and Green don't get you basically a 15/8/2 big man per 36 who is playing 29 MPG and defends at a high level.

Also Clippers probably a weary of putting $8M/year into their backup C

Not really.

Again right now, this season, what we need is a back up C.

@WindhorstESPN: The Pacers are planning to sign Andrew Bynum, sources told ESPN

This is crazy. Just lock them in for a Championship

Unfreakingbelievable. Meanwhile, we're stuck with Mullens, Hollins, and Jamison. mad

There had better be a damn compelling reason from the front office for not even trying to address the obvious need for a backup big, or they'd better have a big move up their sleeve. I mean, this has been a gaping hole in our roster since the summer, and nothing has been done.

You really wanted a locker room cancer like Bynum? Honestly, the Pacers are probably only taking him to make sure the Heat can't get him.

Stop freaking out for a moment, and remember that the trade deadline is on February 20th. That gives the team more than enough time to find the third big it needs.

I don't see why everyone's just assuming the FO will sign a backup big. I've seen zero indication in weeks now that they're even considering it. What happened to Odom, is that off the table?

I think this the reason Doc did not bother the get him.

We've been linked to both Odom and Ivan, so it's not like we aren't in discussions with any bigs and really I'd rather have either of those guys than Bynum. I watched Bynum a good amount of the Cavs and he was terrible, he's just too slow to do anything on defense than stand right under the basket, he gets torched on pick and rolls and in transition, on offense he shot something like 42%, but took a ton of shot anyway.

Doc probably doesn't believe Bynum can run this teams defensive system. He was pretty awful for the Cavs on defense cause he couldn't move. Pacers already have their defensive system to accommodate for the slow footedness of Hibbert. They play a soft hedge and have the big stay back. The Clippers play a system that requires a big to move around a bit and recover, that really would be a disaster for Bynum.

Be patient, guys will become available and released near the deadline. Bought out after the deadline if teams fall out of the race. As long as we have our backup 5 by the playoffs, I am not sweating it. Unless DJ or Blake goes down (knock on wood) no need to rush.

As long as that cop out dynasty in Miami does not win it this year I will be OK with that. Obviously I would prefer the Clippers to win it all but that would be a decent alternative if things do not pan out.

I like Ivan and I like Odom. Then you have Mullens and Jamison and Hollins just sitting on the bench. Yeah we have deoth but this season you can't play all your depth like last year. You could throw in Hollins or Odom or Turiaf and be just fine. Their minutes didn't kill you when Blake and DJ were off. You could put a whole 5 man bench unit out there and they wouldn't kill you. God now you can't do that well.... You can but you would pay for it in the end. This bench loses us games and loses us leads and can't get any leads like last season.

Quality SF and Back Up Bigs are the recipe the Clippers need to be cooking right now. What they tried cooking with Mullens and Jamison spoiled rotten. Clips make big move before deadline

We're not gonna win a title this year. I don't even think wel'll get to the conference final. I don't see why they won't even try to gamble on Bynum. It's not like we got a championship caliber team.

@WindhorstESPN: The Pacers gave Andrew Bynum $1 million for the rest of season from their mid-level exception, according to a source.

BS. Money was never an issue. He would have played for LA if we brought him in. I'm surpised we didn't bring him in for a workout atleast and meet with him. I have a feeling all Bynum wanted to do was win and that didn't happen in Cleveland and he wanted out. I have a bad feeling Bynum will turn into their own version of Chris Anderson. Before you know it Odom and Ivan Johnson will be swept from under us and Okafor will want to stay with Suns.

Now Shannon Brown a back-up I liked was signed @JeffZillgitt: Spurs have signed guard Shannon Brown to a 10-day contract, team announced in a news release.

I am highly pissed the Clippers aren't addressing our problems. We have bad and unhealthy Small Forwards and TERRIBLE ABSOULTELY TERRIBLE BACK UP PIGS ( I meant to put that because that is what they play like. )

Pacers bench could put up a battle against our starters.

CJ Watson

Orlando Johnson

Danny Granger

Luis Scola

Andrew Bynum

That team could make the playoffs themselves.

I am very upset at the Clippers FO. THEY BETTER HAVE A BIG MOVE UP THEIR HANDS THAT DOESNT INVOLVE CP3, Blake, DJ, Collison or Crawford ,but gladly involves Dudley, Barnes, Jamison, Hollins, and God-Awful Mullens.

I AM HIGHLY UPSET AS YOU PROBABLY CAN TELL , BECAUSE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS KEEP GETTING BETTER AND WE DONT. AS FAR AS THE ROSTER, OUR BENCH IS TERRIBLE

It was a horrible idea giving doc so much power.

  1. He practically gives away Bledsoe. Dudley hasn't done anything for this team!

  2. Resigns Matt Barnes. He looks slow and can't make a damn 3.

  3. Signs Mullen and Jamison. For what?!? Just to sit on the bench and do nothing.

The only good decision he has made is signing Redick.

It gets me mad that the top teams just find ways of getting better and we can't do the same.

We had obvious needs of a center and signing hollins was his solution? Come on, doc!!!

This is all incredibly frustrating.i don't understand why doc isn't pushing the FO to make a move. We're getting exposed by the elite teams, on our lack of post and wing defense. I would've preferred to of kept Bled and Caron vs JJ and Dudley. Dudley is the second coming of Ryan Gomes and JJ can't score against elite teams. Didn't Orlando want a Bled for Aflalo deal?

That is a lie. There is no one in the league like JJ Redick except Ray Allen and he can't do it anymore. JJ can score. He isn't playing with Chris to get him the ball

Bynum would have been a problem on our team either way. He either sucks and is a problem in the locker room or he looks good and starts crying about starting over DJ. He always dominated DJ, he's a douchebag in general. I doubt that any of our players were in a big hurry to sign him.

No big loss. I just didn't want to see him in OKC or Miami. Indiana is my 2nd team this year. Anybody beats Miami and I'm a fan.

This is a lot noise about a guy who made the Cleveland Cavaliers worse almost every time he stepped on the floor this year.

There are better bigs still on the market.

JJ is no Ray Allen, in his prime. This is a small sample size but JJ struggles big time vs top teams and elite guard defenders. vs Indy 4-17, vs heat 4-12, the two games vs thunder 8-26. Go back even further in his Orlando days and you'll see he disappears vs top teams

What is Indiana going to do with Ian Mahinmi? They now have 3 centers.

Maybe the Clippers should try and trade for him

Probably play him more than Bynum. That is like asking what the Heat are going to do with Chris Anderson now that Oden has played a few games.

Yep. There were some on here who were thinking Barnes was better than medium to low level role player. There was a reason no one had signed him last year, he was a minimum player. Then we outbid ourselves this offseason and wasted money on him. I am fine with him on the team but he is not a great player who should be getting much more than the vet min. Especially since he can be quite a bad decision maker as far as shots passing and holding back his emotions

We are locked into our present SF's. Barnes has a wrap on this thumb. Arguably overpriced but somehow I remember that he took a potential pay cut to stay here. Is his hand injured? Dudley admitted he sucked and has done better. Our four starters are really good and our SF's are mediocre. Not bad. You never have five high tiered players (almost) As far as Bledsoe, he's injured AGAIN. If we had kept him who would be our PG now?

We need a big. Turiaf has a broken something. Jamison was a good idea on paper but he's a year too old. Hollins isn't that bad. He plays hard can rebound and he can be spoon fed in the post. He's not very strong and can be out muscled and because of that he's foul prone but he can't start. Hedo may be a serviceable PF. He could start. Our only need is a center who can start. Willie Green isn't a bad trading chip. If Bullock plays well maybe he, Barnes or Dudley can go. We're stuck with Mullens. You can't win them all.

I think it was a now legal pipe dreram for a ring. It will take next year or one more. Ir we stay healthy fill in the holes and palyers play at their expected level WCFs are not out of the question

Slight correction Toohip....Hollins plays hard and can't rebound.

All things are relative.

As compared to Mullens and Jamison he's a rebounding machine. If I remember his reb/36 min aren't that bad playing against second string centers.

tense2

That said he still is a below average rebounder for his position and a fouling machine. Comparing crap with crap is still crap.

I was using Mullens as our benchmark. Smile and Hollins as a benchmark for whoever else is out there. His average/36 min is 6.1 fouls. Quite an accomplishment.

He does have 11pts/36min and 6.7 Reb

im more pissed at 1 and 3

as far as redick is concerned he is a good backup guard but not a championship calibre starter at the 2 and that has everything to do with his size, he is going to struggle on D and O against the better wings in this league and he is predominantly a jumpshooter which is to streaky for my liking

last year our bench was so good it disguised the fact that our starting 5 was not that great, and when they didn't show up in the playoffs we fell flat on our faces

we are unlikely to win a championship with BG and CP alone, we really need that allstar level wing to start making that claim

To be honest you can't ask for a better backup at the 3, he is committed defensively, moves well and can make the long shot, the problem at the moment is that he is starting and that is not his intended role

He played pretty good defense on Hayward, Hayward is 3-13 and we are +12 with Dudley on the floor tonight despite his offense being way off.

I think he's mostly just hurt still, so he's playing it safe as much as possible and his confidence is low. I like how aggressive and hard working Barnes has been tonight though, if he can keep it up it, it will help us a lot.

I also like that Rivers was confident enough in the defense of both of them to cross match them to Hayward, rather keep them on the more passive Jefferson.
