They can hold their own. The problem is that everyone in the world knows they have nobody behind them. Get them in foul trouble or tire them out and we're toast.

Blake could take Z-Bo, but I still don't know if DJ could handle Marc Gasol. It's been two straight playoff series where Gasol dominated DJ. DJ's improved a lot since last year, but I'm not sure if he could match Gasol's physicality.

DJs 1v1 defense against the better Cs in this league to me is still a bit suspect

It's simple, we don't put DJ on the opposing teams big men shooters like LMA, Duncan, Gasol, Ibaka....etc because that takes DJ away from the glass where he's the best in the league.

Also Blake isn't tall and lengthy enough to prevent the opposing teams soft handed bigs like Lopez, Randolph, Splitter....etc from getting offensive tip ins.

Don't think either match up would go well Z-Bo is physical and it seems when they play Blake is the one that ends up getting hurt. It's not a great match up at all and we need a different look from a third big to mix and match,

It all comes down to maturity and basketball IQ for Blake and DJ its only half the season, a long time for this two guys to improve their game with the help of Doc.

I don't think it's them that worries me. I think the problem lies with can a combination of Blake, DJ, Hedo, and Hollins match up against the opposing front court rotation. I'm not too worried about Portland's, Houston, or San Antonio, but there are a lot of other ones that would have me worried.

Memphis for example: I think with Blake and DJ's new elevated play, we would do well straight up. The problem is that they bring in Davis, and Koufus as relief. Blake and DJ can't keep up with all 4 players for an extended period of time.

They definitely can when they're on the court. But once they get in foul trouble (which happens very often), we're screwed.

They can but the problem is when they are off the court who fills the void?
