Very interesting. Stephen A gives us a 50 percent chance to get to the finals. In general both have a much increased respect for the team, like most analysts this year.

Great find and great post. It's nice to see the Clippers getting credit, but is it obvious that Skip Bayless has only watched maybe 2-3 Clippers games this season based on his analysis?

Skip is still talking about the Clippers as if we just got rid of the Kandy man. Then he talks about blocks as it being the end all barometer of defense. Skip is a dumb a$$, I avoid watching him as much as I can. Charles has his stupid moments, but when he makes over the top comments at least we know that he played at a high level in his day. The same can't be even thought when looking at Skip.

Stephen if I'm not mistaken I think was picking us last season at the start of the playoffs.

What Skip failed to realize is that the Clippers were without CP3 and Redick...Two Vital starters, FFS! Yet, BG almost willed his skeleton crew to a upset over a 100% healthy Heat team in the final seconds. Skip talks about us doing the big things but not the small things yet one can actually say he does the same in his analysis. Talks about the obvious ( highlights)and leaves out the small things (2 starters out).

Exactly. That argument was killing me. They do the big things but not enough of the little things...please.

Think the do the big things but not enough of the little things comment was fair. We need to bring our defensive focus and team rebounding on a play to play basis for an entire game. The team can kick it up when the pressure is at its highest usually in the 4th but keeping that intensity from jump makes the defense similar to the Pacers.

Blocks really? He's just like your amateur basketball fan. Guys who just look at stats and based their opinion there. You can play great defense without blocking shots. And what the hell do they expect from Blake? Average 2 blocks per game? I like how he talks about how we don't do the little things yet he forgets Blake has 6'11 wingspan and will probably never be a good shot blocker.

Ya black had 45 15 and 4 assists but - no blocks!!! I laughed out loud at that comment. How many blocks does love have?

SKip isn't much more knowledgeable than the casual nba fan. He is nothing more than a glorified troll. Don't get too upset at his opinions. He isn't on the show due to his knowledge but due to his lack of knowledge. He is meant to stir up controversy.

As far as defense our 2 best defenders (outside of Jordan) are Paul, and JJ.

We still have not seen them really play together this season.

In fact we haven't seen our starting unit play together in God knows

how long...

A fully Healthy Clipper team is something I don't think this league

can fathom as far as offensive power.

We are #2 in scoring and we still haven't had all of our firepower.

^ Yeah, he gives the Spurs an excuse for not being healthy while our starting back court have missed 20 games each. And Houston? Really? We should be so lucky to meet them in round 1.

What qualifies either of those guys to have an opinion? Stephen A. I can at least envision him maybe playing sports when he was young. Skip, you know he was a cheerleader in high school.

Still talking about Blake only dunking? "Now Doc's influencing him into learning how to play offensive basketball". Huh? These guys are fools.

And by the way, their percentage chances were totally wrong based on their arguments. Stephen A. says 50% chances we play Heat in Finals but it's 50% chances for each team based on his logic. That would be a 25% chance.

Skip can't think of any other numbers at the moment and says 50% chances too. Except he thinks we're the 4th best team in the West. That would be more like a 10% chance.

They should change the name of that show to Two Morons and Two Tits.

Yah but didn't you know Dwight Howard is now learning how to play offensive basketball??? The guy is 27 and was better on that side of the court when he was 23. WTF is he talking about!!!

Seriously I'd love to play Houston in the 1st round. That's a 5 game series max.

Skip always uses blocks as a simplistic measure of defense for big men. He claims athleticism and leaping ability must equal blocked shots. The problem with that idea is blocks come from more than that. Tim Duncan, from Skip's FAVORITE team, is considered one of the all time great shot blockers. Is it because of his athleticism and hops? No! It's because, in some small measure, of his ridiculously long wingspan. But even more than that, it's Duncan's natural instinct as a shot blocker. Dude's been blocking shots since high school. Blake's buddy DJ averaged 11 blocks a game in high school one year...11 BLOCKS A GAME!

Meanwhile Blake was playing like a guard in high school because he wasn't quite the height of a forward until he unexpectedly shot up one year. This is why he has unusual handles for a big man and averages more steals than blocks. His athleticism will always allow him to block shots occasionally, and he might even average more than a block a game one season, but I believe he will never be a "shot blocker"...just like Karl Malone and Charles Barkley were never such.

I'll use another example. Kevin Willis was a terrific power forward for several teams, but especially the Hawks during his career. Guy was seriously athletic, full of muscles and a monster rebounder. Oh, and he was 7 feet tall and had some highlight dunks in his day. He was also notorious for having unusually short arms. For his career, he averaged 0.5 blocks a game.

DJ is NOT a good defender. He's the best rebounder in the league.

Well most of the analyst, Mike Smith, Ralph Lawler, and

Doc Rivers would disagree with you.

I'll take their word for it.

You gotta admit he's been clutch offensively and defensively this season. But throughout the game he still makes mental lapses

I try not to pay attention to what people on ESPN or TNT say.

They only watch a few clipper games a season so they don't really know.

Skip talks as if Blake barely started playing like this, but in reality he has been playing at this level since December.

I still think we are one, above average, defender away from contending for a title.

I still think we'll meet the Thunder in the conference finals.

Couldn't say it better myself so I won't. Especially the first line and the last line.

WE should have handed their eggs scrambled on a plate. If this present team without Paul and JJ had played together more they would have. They had severe defensive lapses which they fixed. This team full strength can beat Miami

Shot blocking means nothing. What counts is keeping a guy from making a shot. How matters not. A hand in their face, a tip bodying, him up, keeping him out of his sweet spot. Each one prevents two points. If you are a rim defender a tip with one finger is as good as a block. He denigrates BG for athleticism them denigrates him for lack thereof. Isn't this called schizophrenia? Take your meds and STFU Ship.

DJ ain't an elite defender yet.

DWIGHT HOWARD?

Skip was so mad, his eyebrow in his hair by that time trying to yell his point across.
