BLAKE GRIFFIN!!!!!

According to George Karl, Blake is the #3 player in the league right now.

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=10451345

Blake has improved so much that he's starting to make believers of the haters. The days of "all he does is dunk" is over.

Funny I just said this in another thread.

No more talking about Blake is the best PF in the league.

Now we are talking about Blake being one of the best Players in the NBA period.

It's between him and Chris. Personally I think Blake is the 3rd best player followed by Chris at #4.

I wonder where non-Clipper fans put Blake.

Wait, holy sh*t we have two Top 5 players. Who was the last team to have that? Miami?

Not impressed with Karl. So glad the guy didn't get our jobin hindsight. His first comments were "I never liked Blake Griffin". Just another clown who watched very little of Blake's first three years, yet formed strong conclusions about his so called limitations.

You have to admit that pre shoulder and post shoulder BG are different players. Right now you'd have to be crazy to say he's not at least top five. If you watch him he's still raw. He's just getting used to ball handling and driving which is LBJ's strong suit. He got in LBJ's face and rather than drive KingJ kicked out. Earlier that wouldn't have happened. Maybe it would have but this time LBJ didn't even think about it. By season's end that could be a premiere match up.

@DanWoikeSports: "When he learns how to play basketball, he's going to be scary." - Charles Barkley on Blake Griffin during 2011 Dunk Contest

That was in 2011. I think Chrarles was right. I think it has happened.

As amazing as he has been, there is still plenty of room for improvement. Think about that! When he finally realizes his full potential....scary. Best part is he is still working at improving.

Westbrook is not close to being a top 5 player, let alone belonging in the top ten.

Blake has been absolutely incredible. The haters who for years ranked Love (stat-padder, bad teammate, no defense, career loser) and Aldridge (soft as hell) over him are looking pretty foolish right now. Honestly, the only competition for Blake I see at the power forward position is Anthony Davis in a few years when it begins to click for him.

I still think he has a ways to go before he's at his best but yeah, he's learning and he's amazing.

Can see why you would say not top 5 but he's definitely a top ten player.

I have to agree with Quick, because Davis's defense has a higher ceiling. Blake's offense has a higher ceiling though so it balances out in my opinion.

Definitely not the last 3 years, you could argue he was top 5 last year for sure, but personally I would put CP, Harden, and Parker ahead of him last year. The 2 years before that was always Rose, CP, Dwight, Wade and probably Kobe interchangeably.

I found that remark very surprising, I heard he was really interested in the Clipper job. We were the ones that didn't give him the light of day. You wouldn't be hounding for the job if one of the key pieces was a player you didn't like. You also wouldn't be one of the first to put him in the 3rd spot amongst players.

I think that was just a bit of bitterness from not getting the interest from the Clips when the chance came around.

Just a little bit of an exaggeration with the 3 years. It's all subjective to each person (that's why you put the word "personally") so I don't really put any weight on top 5 or top ten lists and whatnot. My statement came from the general consensus of the AP who made public top player lists from aggregated votes. But there are so many variables that people weigh differently that there really can be no unanimous list outside of LeBron and KD being 1 and 2 respectively.

is it bad i'd rather have westbrook than cp3? (assuming he returns just as explosive). Westbrook couldn't shoot a penny into the ocean two years ago, but his shooting is getting better every year, plus he's top 5 most athletic players in the league and is just as competitive as cp3.

You're nuts. Westbrick is a sidekick who thinks he's the alpha. CP3 is the best PG in the league.

That makes perfect since if you'd rather lose than win.

I think the #3 player in the NBA is something that will keep changing as the season goes. When the season started, it was CP3, but then Paul George got hot and it was him, and after these past few months, it's Blake Griffin. I just hope that the Clippers can capitalize on having two of the top 5 players in the league. Because if they can't, then maybe they really aren't two of the top 5 players in reality.
